High Performance. Keep your V6 powered Mustang running strong by replacing those old standard spark plugs with a set of high performance Pulstar PlasmaCore Spark Plugs. Featuring plasma-assisted combustion technology, Pulstar Spark Plugs produce a 5 megawatt spark that instantly and completely burns the air fuel mixture. As a result of this complete fuel burn you will see an increase in fuel efficiency, as well as an improvement in throttle response and power. As part of your Mustangs routine maintenance, it is recommended to replace your old spark plugs every 30,000 to 45,000 miles to maintain optimal driving performance.

Plasma-assisted Combustion. Pulstar PlasmaCore Spark Plugs feature a patented internal capacitor design that was developed with the help of a US Department of Energy laboratory. The internal capacitor allows the spark plug to store and compress more energy prior to its release, when compared to standard spark plugs. This stored energy is released within nanoseconds delivering a 5 megawatt pulse of peak power. This 5mw pulse discharge of energy ionizes a portion of the gaseous air-fuel mixture turning it to plasma which in turn instantly ignites the remaining air-fuel mixture in a cascading effect.

Nickel-Chromium Alloy Electrode. Most performance spark plugs feature a fine wire electrode made from a precious metal, like platinum or iridium, in order to increase spark creation consistency. However, this consistent spark energy comes with the price of reduced life expectancy. Because of the plasma-forming pulse that ignites the air fuel mixture immediately, Pulstar Spark Plugs can take advantage of a larger center electrode made from an Austenite Nickel-Chromium Alloy (Inconel) that will extend spark plug life.

Application. This set of six (6) Pulstar PlasmaCore Spark Plugs are specifically designed as a direct fit replacement for the 1994-1997 and 1999-2010 V6 Mustangs. Please note that these Pulstar Spark Plugs do not fit the 1998 V6 model.

    5 Top Rated Questions

As a follow-up to a previous question concerning these plugs, low resistance wires and high output coil, I had always heard that running a plug that burned too hot could damage the engine. Will this combination of plugs, wires and coil generate too much heat and either cause damage or require a tune?

Are these sparkplugs compatible with the MSD performance coils pack (01-04 V6) and the MSD super conductor 8.5mm spark plug wires (01-04 V6) ? I have a 2002 V6 Mustang. Or do you have any other recommendations as far as the set up that would be more optimal? Thanks AM!

I'm running on screaming demon coil pack should i open the gap as recomended to run the coil or leave it factory?

    • We would recommend running the gap specs that are needed for the coils since they call for a different gap than the factory specs.

What exactly is the difference in heat range comparing these with the NGK Iridium IX Performance Spark Plugs when the heat range for these is 1 and the NGK Iridium IX Performance Spark Plugs are 5? Does the heat range really make a difference?

    • Different spark plug companies have different heat range scales. A heat range of 1 is the same as a 4-7 in NGK's heat range scale.

      Bad plugs

Just goes to show that the most expensive is not always the best. Lasted about 4 days and started to misfire. Mechanic said he’s never heard of this brand before. I wouldn’t buy these if I were you. There are far cheaper and better options.

      Pulstar Total Performance Face Lift

I recently took advantage of the holiday sale to purchase my first set of six plugs for my wife's Mustang. It was purchased as my 40th wedding anniversary present and I have added small things to it to improve it over the last 3 years. The two most important parts though are an SR cold air intake from AM on sale and the labor day purchase of 6 Pulstar PlasmaCore Spark plugs. I went ahead and purchased locally a set of Ignition wires just to round off the upgrade. I frankly do not recognize this 2003 V6 convertible anymore. She runs like a new car and she is taking full advantage of the 25 HP estimated by the SR Cold Air intake with these incredible plugs. I was just about to send her in for a tune up since the car was running so badly , now it feels like she could take out the 4.1 8 cylinder. I do not race anymore at 67 years old but she almost gets my blood pumpin for it again. I could not be happier with my new plugs and gas mileage jumped from 18.9 M.P.G. to 21.22 M.P.G.

      5MW spark

I had regular OEM plugs so when I replaced these with the Pulstar plugs, I also added an MSD performance coil and some blue JBW 8.5mm plug wires, so I can't say if it's just the plugs or the whole package upgrade, but it seems pretty sparky. I would recommend these plugs :)
