Where can you get the hdmi connector part?

StephenS

  • To utilize mirroring with the Raxiom Gen2 OE-Style GPS Navigation you would simply need to purchase a cable with your phones port on one end, and HDMI on the other. These can be found at numerous online stores as well as local electronics stores.

I have a 2012 base model without sync. Do this give me the ability to have Bluetooth. Also don’t have steering controls but looking at the Boss steering wheel will it allow me to have the controls to the Raxiom.

NateS

  • The Raxiom Gen2 OE-Style GPS Navigation will have Bluetooth capability. Unless your vehicle has the wiring for steering wheel controls, this will not add the functionality, even with a new steering wheel.

Will this item be available again or will something else take it's place ?

KonaRacer

  • At this time, the Raxiom Gen2 OE-Style GPS Navigation system is indefinitely unavailable as the manufacturer used is no longer producing these. If a new manufacturer begins production, and these meet quality standards, they may be brought back, but there is no time frame, nor is this definite.

    Lack of Support

Bought this system in 2015, easy install, its works as advertised. It doesn't come with a user manual so, when its time to update the GPS maps - Good Luck! Its not Raxiom, its Rosen but, Rosen has contracted with Naviextras for map updates. The map update procedure doesn't work so - its the old "Run-Around" getting any kind of support. Been trying to get a map update for over a month, if anyone else has been able to get a map update - please help!

    DONT BUY!!

I've had 3 raxiom navigations over the period of one year. They all suffered from the same problem. Once it's older then 4-5 months the system would crash almost everyday, it would reboot constantly, it would freeze non stop and sometimes wouldn't even turn on. When it works music would only come out of the right speaker. If the system worked it would be amazing however I gave it 3 try's. I have replaced it 3 times and the same thing would happen. DO NOT BUY!!! It's not worth the head ache.

    Dissatisfied

Product glitches consistently. Sometimes the main menu will not appear. The main Menu button on the Nav does nothing. I was also showed on the video the back up camera was supposed to work while driving forward it does not. The Bluetooth has static whenever connected even while no music is playing. All in all I wish I had just kept the factory version.

Raxiom Gen2 GPS, Bluetooth, SYNC and Camera

Installed this myself in about 4 hours in my driveway. Directions are pretty straightforward and easy to follow. It fits great and looks as if it were stock. However, the navigation freezes every now and again causing it to restart, the steering wheel buttons that control the radio work intermittently and the screen is hard to see when wearing polarized sunglasses. Other than that, the sound is good, the camera is great and using it is easy. All in all for a $700 purchase I'm not happy with it.

    Not worth It

I got this to somewhat make up for not buying the tech package, but this has been so frustrating. The GPS freezes all of the time and never takes me the fastest route, I use my phone more than half the time which is one of the reasons I wanted this so I wouldn't be draining my phone battery. The Bluetooth almost never works for a phone call, I can at least play my music through my phone and Bluetooth, but I can't use steering wheel controls for that. It all just seems like things that could easily be fixed with an update for the software, but until then it pretty much just looks pretty.

    Stay Away

Honestly - I wouldn't buy this at all if I could go back. The navigation is a joke - have to pay to update maps. The unit itself freezes from time to time and is slow and clunky. Then to top this all off, on the gen 2 they removed the backup camera you could stick on to your bumper via 3m double sided tape so they actually expect you to drill into your car for a unit that may break in 2 months. On my 2nd unit - and its already starting to freeze again. Will go back to stock once this thing kicks the curb again. Super disappointing.

    Unit is ok, Sync sucks

Own a 2014 Convertible V6 Premium. Installation takes 4 hours including backup camera. The unit itself is ok. Screen is nearly impossible to see with top down, contrast and brightness needs to more upward settings. Backup camera is excellent, navigation system is good, It retains all SYNC functions without any improvement in interface. The phone works as before, no lost in quality and uses factory mic. The unit's interface is also lacking. The RDS text is small and gets lost in any background used. Satelite works ok but once again interface is lacking. I installed an ADVENT (AUDIOVOX) unit into a 2013 GM and interface / display was superior to this. Overall unit looks good but software is not up to others.

    Read before buying.

Received the item quick. Installation went well, a tip in the center console there is a blank plug, use that. But after install a month later the GPS would screen freeze. Now you have to pull over cut the power to reboot over and over. Then the touch screen out . The warranty is a joke. You have to email the company no phone number and American muscle doesn't stand behind it. Now the company wants you to remove the entire system. What a joke. Now I have a second one and the freeze screen happens every 15 minutes and it takes you sumplace not even close then it directs you to drive it circles so don't trust where it sends you. And how much are we paying for this system. 700.00 no refuses. stupid me. I shop at cjpony parts and other mustang places.

Takes time to get used to, hoping for the best

Installation was done by professionals and they still had problems due to vague instructions. Unlike a factory system which is virtually instantaneous on response to touch, this takes time getting used to. Start the car,,,be patient. Allow 10 to 15 seconds for system to boot up. The stereo, sat, cd and phone controls virtually effortless. Navigation is another story. It works perfectly once you enter your destination,,,but,,,you must take your time entering information and following prompts. Do not start pushing buttons to quick or radomly. Read the instructions with great detail and TAKE YOUR TIME. Seriously read the quick guide manual. Do Not assume you know how to use it. Also excellent customer service with live people that speak english at ROSEN the manufacturer. Ask American Muscle for the customer service number.

    Looks Great, Works Good

I got this because my back windshield is tinted way too dark to see out of at night, so I needed a back up camera. The install was way more intense than I was ready for. It took me about 6 hours, probably because I kept losing screws inside my console. The back up camera works great. It boots up really quickly when you put your car into reverse, and the camera itself looks factory on the back of the car. The screen looks really good in the console. I always thought it looked kinda weird in pictures with all the empty space on either side of the screen, but in person it looks great. I work from home and only drive around town about twice a week, so I can't really speak to how well the NAV works. But when I messed with it just to see if it worked, it was really easy to set up a route. The one thing I HATE about this radio is that it doesn't display song titles/artists for satellite radio. It's a small thing, but it seems like a feature that could have easily been included. We've had the technology since the 90's! Get with it, Raxiom! Also, like someone else already said, the weather app is a joke. But you're outside looking out of a giant window, so if you don't know what the weather's like, that's really on you. PS, turn your alerts off or you'll get a warning every time you go 4mph over the speed limit. It's like always having your wife in the car with you.

    Weather app

All around great addition to my mustang. Only down side is the weather app does not work. I called Rosen customer support and they said AM wanted the weather because a competitor had the app and wanted to compete but never updated it. So it just doesnt work.

    Nice unit

Owning a convertible I was already aware of the glare problem with the top down. It's impossible to see the sync screen on the factory radio so no big deal. Install was OK instructions not as detailed as I would have liked. The plug and play was really nice but the directions on how to do the little things that are really important weren't there. I was really disappointed with the online websites and the cost of updates. They need to also fix the problem with the speaker hop a free update would be great. But I 'm pretty sure that won't happen. But hey for the most part it does the job.

    Unrefined

The Bad: I have had this for a few years now, the map updates are non existent all you get is the good old "run around". The system is so lagged it is nnot uncommon to wait 10 minutes for it to switch screens. The navigation was off from the day it came out of the box and once the first screen for the GPS loaded it is normally a 15 minute wait for GPS to finally be open and load, not including if you needed to navigate anywhere. The Good: Simple installation, took a little under two hours. Gives a clean OEM appearance against the rest of the interior. Overall, this has now become a $600 mounting point for my phone which I run everything off of now. Save your money, get a good phone mount and use it instead.

    Garbage

First off I ordered this while I was in Afghanistan and when I got home 3 months later and opened the box the corner was cracked. After not being able to get it replaced because it had been 3 months since it was shipped to me I decided to install it and not waste all the money this piece of junk cost. After about 2 days of having it in the car I wanted to put the stock unit back in. The screen and GPS freeze up all the time, there could not be a single cloud in the sky and the GPS will lose signal. the weather app or the feature on it doesn't work at all so I don't even know why that thing is on there. All said and done I would never recommend this product to anyone. I'm sure there are other products out there that are way better and cost less than this thing, so I will be looking for one since I wasn't able to return this thing.

Don't buy it waste if money

Stay away from this product waste of money. I read the bad reviews but still bought it buyer's remorse. It's a great product when it works bought this product in March of 2017 already having problems screen freezes every time I try to use my mirror link mode. Not all modes work they don't tell you that not all Bluetooth devices are compatible with this navigation system. Don't bother calling there's no number only website. I don't know why American Muscle is selling this product on their website Not all modes work stay away don't buy.

    Horrible

Installation instruction are very poor. Unit constantly freezes up when navigating and American Muscles solution is for me to pull unit out and return it then they will ship me a replacement. That leaves me with no vehicle until replacement arrives. Not acceptable. Will not purchase anything else from this company.
