Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, what's going on guys? Adam here with AmericanMuscle.com. Today I'm bringing you a detailed overview of the new Raxiom Halo LED tail lights fitting all 2015 and newer Mustangs. So in this video we're touching on the styling and appearance you can expect when picking up the all-new Raxiom Halo LED tail lights, as well as the materials and construction. And I'll even take you through the installation which I'll tell you upfront would be an even swap getting it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. So let's jump right into it. The Raxiom Halo LED tail Lights are gonna be for the 2015 and newer Mustang owner out there looking to completely change the look of their rear profile of their S550. Taking those rear tri-bar lights that we all know and love, and giving it a very, very redesigned super car styling. Now those tri-bar tail lights we all know and love are the iconic trademark of the Mustang family. And have been here since the beginning in the mid-60s. But like all good things, it is sometimes good to switch it up and give it a new design. And that is exactly what Raxiom did here with this halo LED lights for the new S550. Now the new halo LED lights styling you see here is a more modern race design, inspired by those super cars you may see hitting the market here upcoming in 2017. Now with that said, these are originally found on those Lamont track stylings with aerodynamics incorporated into the lights. Beneficial for those rear engine models. So as you can see these halo designs here are a lot different than some of the halo designs Raxiom has put out in the past. Instead of this being a single LED halom this is an actual 3D halo protruding out of the OEM material backing with high output LEDs all around the ring. And it's being pushed forward by the rib design you see here and on the inside above the deck lid panel as well. Now if you look in the center of the actual halo you'll see a honeycomb style design. Now with that in mind, plus the rib style design on the side here and on the inside by the deck lid panel, you will see that this was originally an aerodynamic opening for those rear engine models. Very beneficial, improving air flow. Now of course, this will not be the case with the Mustang. Given it's a front engine pony. But of course, this one did keep the design staying true to that super car styling and that track feel. Now along with the actual halo itself being made out of OEM materials, you can expect the same for the backing here, the mounting on the rear. As well as a direct plug and play wiring on the back. Everything will plug in just like your factory tail lights would. And like I said they will blend in perfectly with the S550 like a pro. Now that backing I mentioned here, you can see it's a very glossy attractive black finish here. It's got a matte like texture designed for the connecting pieces into your trunk and deck lid panel. And then again a very simple plug and play installation here, will clip right into your factory wiring harness already in the vehicle. And of course, I do want to point out this one will be compatible with the sequential harness. The only thing that won't work is your break lights with the sequences. But again, if you have the sequences already in your Mustang, you can reuse those again with the new Raxiom Halo LED designs here. Now pricewise, if you are interested in completely redesigning the rear end look of your S550. Expect to be spending just around $500. A pretty expected price tag when it comes to redesigning these tail lights. If you take into consideration this price compared to a factory rear placement from Ford, or even an aftermarket one. You're spending upwards of a grand. This cuts the price tag in half. Completely redesigns the tri-bar tail light. And you will without a doubt standout at those car shows or car mates, and you're gonna turn heads on the street as well. Now again, switching gears over to that installation process I mentioned earlier. This one is another bonus to picking up the Raxiom Halo LED tail lights to redesign that rear end. This installation is going to be that direct plug and play. I know I mentioned it a bunch of times, but I do want to stress that it will work directly with your factory wiring harness in the vehicle. And it will even work with a sequential harness if you have that as well, will plug right into these. So to kick things off let me walk you through that installation. You're gonna want to remove your factory tail lights first and foremost. In order to do that you want to pop your trunk open, remove the liner on the inside of the deck lid panel, as well as the two sides covering the tail lights. Unbolt those tail lights, unclip the wiring harness, and remove them from the vehicle carefully. So one thing you will have to do when you remove your factory tail lights is remove the top plastic piece on the factory lights, and move them over to the Raxiom halo design. This is basically the top piece that's gonna connect the top of your tail lights to the bottom of your trunk lid. Basically what the trunk lid shuts on. But you will have to move it over from the factory. Now once you get those two connecting pieces onto each of the tail lights, it'll be as simple as feeding your wiring harness to the predrilled hole in the bottom of your vehicle. Putting them through, bolting them back on, connecting the harnesses and, of course the sequentials if you have those as well. Put the lining all back together on each side and behind the deck lid panel. Shut everything down and you're good to go. Overall I'd say you'll be spending between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on how familiar you are with the process. Extremely simple, something anybody can do with about 30 minutes in the driveway at home. Definitely something that's getting a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Well guys just to wrap things up, if you are the owner of a 2015 or newer Mustang. And you're interested in completely changing the tri-bar look of the rear end of your pony, you might wanna check out the Raxiom Halo LED tail lights available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Halo LED Tails. There's no question that most car enthusiasts at some point think about how they can modify or change the factory lighting. The S550 Mustang definitely came with some tricked out tail lights right off the assembly line, but if you really want to stand out, these Raxiom units are for you. Designed to provide brilliantly bright LED light, these tails feature round halos of illumination to really grab the attention of distracted drivers. Being plug and play, this pair of Halo LED Tail Lights will bring a new visual appeal to the rear of your Pony with very little effort.

Quality Construction. Crafted from the highest quality materials, this set of two Raxiom Halo LED Tail Lights feature a gloss black finish and red brake lights. With its unique style, the tails stick away from the body lines of your S550 and deliver a protruding round halo of LED light. Turn heads and get noticed on the roadways with this long lasting and bright tail light upgrade.

Plug and Play. Installing this modern LED Tail Light upgrade could not get any easier. Simply remove your current tail lights and disconnect the wiring, plug in the supplied wiring of your new Raxiom Halo LED Lights and reinstall. It's a simple upgrade using basic hand tools and should take no longer than a half hour to complete.

Full Warranty. Raxiom stands behind their products and backs these Halo LED Tail Lights with their Industry Leading 2-Year Full Warranty.

Recommended Upgrade. While the direct install of these Raxiom Halo LEDs will be compatible with the factory turn signal sequencing, they do not add the sequential technology when braking, using hazards or locking/unlocking your Mustang. To enjoy full sequential technology for all brake functions, combine these tail lights with the Raxiom Tail Light Sequencer. Please see ordering options above.

Application. This pair of Raxiom Halo LED Tail Lights are specifically designed for the 2015-2018 Mustangs, including V6, GT, EcoBoost and GT350 models.

Please Note. This is a product designed for Mustangs sold in the US. It will not function properly on Mustangs sold in the EU or UK without modifications being made to the wiring harness.

Hi Can i use this lighs in Germany are they allowed?Or do I need special Papers for this lights? Thanks

StellaC

  • Unfortunately since we are a US based company, we don't have much info on German laws such as those for tail lights, We would recommend checking with a local shop, or police force if the Raxiom Halo LED Tail Lights would be legal in your area.

My neighbors leaked and filled up with water in less than 2 months. The same thing happened to a member in out Mustang club. Has this issue been resolved yet?

Bubba

  • The seals on a number of lights when originally released were susceptible to water leaks and created a bit of an issue. We have covered all of them under warranty and the seal issue has since been fixed. We still recommend using silicone around the light housing as an extra precaution but is not a necessity.

    Condensation Problems

When I installed these Raxiom Halo Tail Lights, the fitment was a little off but not a deal breaker. 8 months later and they are leaking. We had a couple days of rain and now my passenger side light is half full of water and the driver side has condensation. The passenger side only works when I use the turn signal. If you already have these lights, make sure to check for condensation. If you see any evidence of seal failure, either seal them with silicone or maybe try to get them replaced. I'm not sure what I can do now.

    Raxiom Halo look great

They have a good build quality that makes an super easy install and fit nicely. I have taken note of the problem of water seeping into the tail lights from others. Where the actual red plastic circular tail light meets with the black plastic, there is a hole on the back of the circular red plastic portion. It looks like Raxiom attempted to place a blob of silicon to seal it, but it was truly sealed. I used UHT glue (rubber cement on steroids) to seal the holes and also ran a bead along seem where the back and from housings come together. So far so good.

    Beautiful mod

Easy enough to install, a bit more of a pain in the toosh with a gt premium since the sub is in the way in the right side. Still plug and play. The added sequencers fit the same description. These will always be my favorite aesthetic mod for this car. If they made more, I'd probably try those too.

Ferrari-like, but looks really good on my car

Arrived in perfect order and installed in a few hours. It really makes the rear of my '17 GT look extremely wide and comments at car shows vary. Old folks don't understand that we want our Mustangs to look different from every other Mustang out there. I'm 73 and I love the look! I also added a Roush spoiler, T-Rex grills, FR 350 touring catback with a 350 diffuser. WOW!

    Bad seals

I bought these and loved the look, but returned them instead of getting a third replacement set. The first time I installed them, 1/3 of the LEDs weren't working on the driver's side bulb. AM did a good job of addressing the issue and promptly shipped a replacement set. Onto my second set... after my car sat in the rain one night (mostly garage kept) the driver's side tail light went out completely. When I replaced the lights back to OEM, I noticed a pool of water had accumulated inside. I thoroughly inspected the lights for any cracks and there was no sign of any damage which concludes that the tail light housing isn't properly sealed. I was offered a third set of tail lights but opted for the refund instead of wasting my time with this product since it's my daily driver.

    Raxiom Halo Taillights look awesome

Quickest upgrade yet - a little over 20 minutes. Totally changed the character of the rear end of my Triple Yellow 2015 GT, more aggressive, very European. Fit is good, but gap between the taillights and the black center trunk panel between is a bit wider than stock. Brake lights very bright, easy to see at night. Picked them up with a 15 off special, which brought the price down to what I was willing to pay. If you've been thinking about getting some, DO IT. They look that good. Bumped into a guy with a 2017 GT in the Best Buy parking lot a week afterI installed mine, and he said he'd been on the fence, but now that he'd seen them in person he was getting some. And I bought mine after I saw them on a GT in Willow Grove, PA.

It gives a unique look to the car. Reminds me of Ford GT. So far there is no water damage and ive had it for around a month. I live in Brooklyn NY so there are lot of mustangs here but there not a single one that has Raxiom tail lights , not that I have seen at least.

I think it goes faster now! ;)

Love the look, definitely makes the car racier in appearance as these stand out like rocket boosters! Seems quite pricey would be the only drawback, particularly considering right behind the LED lens piece on both of mine there was a small hole that they seal with silicone, but do a quick blobby job and it was plain to see. This piece should've been rotated so the hole would be on the bottom. I was about to very disappointedly return them but decided to pare down the silicon blobs with a knife so they aren't noticeable. I have a paint pen in Tuxedo black on the way which I'll dab on the "clear" silicone to further blend it in. Otherwise build quality is great and paired with the louvers it looks even better!

    Water just loves this product!

Water seeped through into the enclosure of the taillights after taking the car to detailing. I have a replacement in the way, but I requested the smoked version to avoid this problem from reoccurring.

Love the look on my Roush Stage 3

I really like the looks of these lights. My wife, not so much, but she likes the way they look in the dark with the lights on. My "professional" opinion 1) When I received them there was a nasty gob of silicone on each them. This would not have been a problem for me except the gob was on the top, and even with the trunk closed you could see the gob of "clear" silicone. I thought I could clean up the gob a little, and the silicone pretty much just fell off with my finger. I found a little bump where the silicone was forced into a little hole (about 1/8" diameter) in the assembly. I ended up removing the silicone (which did not stick to the plastic at all) on both of them and I used some black strip caulk that I had left over from another project years ago. 2) The fit was really good, I did not have any issues with aligning holes, or anything. The dongle plugged right in without any issues to the OE harness, and the nuts screwed right on without any issues. This was a very easy mod. 3) I thought the price was a tad high, I realize there is a lot of engineering going on but it just seemed a bit steep, 4) I love the appearance from almost every angle except from the side, I would have preferred it to be recessed about 1/2" to 1" but I knew that when I got them.
