    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with americanmuscle.com here with the Roush Hood Scoop 2015 and up S550 GT, V6s, and EcoBoost Mustangs. This hood scoop is the same hood scoop that Roush offers on their R7 Arrow Body Kits, so if you're looking to add some Roush styling or you're just looking for a streamlined hood scoop, then this Roush hood scoop may be what you're after. So first of all, this hood scoop is unpainted and it's gonna ship to you unpainted, so the paint and the prep work is gonna be something that you're gonna have to take care of on your own. So, just keep that in the back of your mind. The other thing that I wanted to mention is you do have to drill for the install for this hood scoop, but I'll touch on that a little bit more later. As far as price, this hood scoop is one of the more expensive options on the site. It's gonna cost just south of $400 and you also have to keep in mind that it is going to come unpainted, so you should get a quote from your local body shop as far as prep work and paint work goes. And possibly install, too, if you wanted to get it professionally done. As far as the install, there is some drilling like I mentioned earlier, but you don't have to worry about using any Bondo or anything of that nature. The hood scoop is gonna come with supplied hardware, so it installs with the supplied hardware and the 3M tape that's already on the back of the scoop. And you even get a drilling template too, just to make things a little bit easier. You can always use some painter's tape around the drill areas if you want a little bit more protection or there's always the option of having the body shop install this if you don't want any part of it. The install should take about an hour from start to finish and I am gonna call this a two out of three wrenches on the scale, but just because of the drilling that's involved. Wrapping things up here, the Roush Hood Scoop adds some of the Roush R7 Arrow Body styling to the S550 GT, V6, or EcoBoost Mustang. It comes unpainted and there is a little bit of drilling involved with the install, but it's nothing too crazy. As always, you can check it out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.

R7 Roush Styling. Add sleek modern styling to your S550 Mustang with a Roush Performance Hood Scoop. This is the same exact hood scoop that Roush offers as an option on their very own R7 Aerobody Kits.

Durable ABS Construction. Manufactured from high quality, blow molded acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), this Roush Hood Scoop was designed using the original OEM CAD data from Ford to ensure a perfect fit. ABS is an extremely strong material known for its light-weight, superior durability and heat resistance. This R7 Hood Scoop arrives to you unpainted.

Straight Forward Installation. No messy bondo or fiberglass is required for installation. This R7 Roush Hood Scoop installs with the supplied fasteners, template and 3M doubled sided automotive bonding tape for a durable and quick installation. Please note that drilling is required for installation.

Application. This Unpainted Roush Hood Scoop is designed to fit the 2015-2017 Mustangs, including the V6, EcoBoost and GT models equipped with the factory hood. Does not fit Shelby GT350's.

Technical Notes. This Roush Hood Scoop ships unpainted. AmericanMuscle recommends professional installation of all body parts. We also recommend test fitting these products before they are painted.

Yes you must drill holes in your hood, after drilling hood And checking fit I used touch up paint in the bare metal holes sides. Follow directions use pilot drill for hole centers. and finish with a steep drill . The scoop really adds to the aggressive look. Afraid to drill holes get a friend to double check your marks and use him to help set scoop in holes to mount on the hood.take your time you can do it.

      ROUSH HOOD SCOOP - UNPAINTED

Purchased this hood scoop along with the Foose quarter window and Foose side scoops. Was not a big fan of the Foose hood scoop. All turned out to be a good match. I had a local body shop paint and install the hood and the Foose scoops all for around $500. Looks lean and mean without looking gaudy. Everyone who sees the car thinks they look hot and the hood scoop looks factory. Glad I purchased it! Can wait till spring to drive it around the lakes, but for now...in the garage it goes!

      Looks but?????

Looks great on the car but I could not see in the pics from Am that on the backside of the scoop there are 2 small indentions that are close to the glass that I do not care for, not much I can do about it now.

      2015 Black Mustang GT

I used blue painters tape under the template to mark the holes. Once I triple checked the alignment, I used the automatic center punch. Take your time. It's real easy. You just have to get thru the first drill hole into your hood. Makes your car looking even more aggressive. Great add on. I'm satisfied with the outcome. The scoop follows the hoods lines perfectly. take your time. Don't rush it

A Great Alternative for Your Stock Hood

The Roush hood scoop is a gorgeous addition to your 2015 Mustang stock hood. Roush really hit the mark on this one. The hood scoop blends right into the factory lines of the hood. Although the scoop is not functional or ram air, it really makes your Mustang stand out. You will need your body shop pro to complete this install. Everything you need to install is included, but it is best if your local body shop massages it into your hood to make the finished product last for time to come.
