Justin: What's up, everybody? Justin with AmericanMuscle.com here with Vaughn Gittin, Junior himself, and we're breaking down the RTR Tactical Performance front and rear adjustable sway bars and end links available for your S197 Mustang. Now, Vaughn, before we get into some of the details about the sway bars here, let's lay out what a sway bar does in your Mustang.Vaughn: Yeah, a sway bar is essentially a spring for the side-to-side movement of your car, so it helps the car in turns. It holds the car up and significantly reduces the amount of roll while turning aggressively.Justin: That's right. You might hear them called anti-roll bars, right? Vaughn: Exactly.Justin: There you go. Well, let's talk about these a little bit more in depth now. 27mm rear, 33mm front, what was the objective here with these bars? Vaughn: Yeah, for us, sway bars are inactive when you're just driving straight on the street. So going back to our whole philosophy of having a car that can be very comfortable on the street but also perform on the track, we use slightly softer springs than you would see traditionally with setups and a little bit stiffer and larger sway bars. That's because when you're driving on the street, you get the nice, comfortable ride with the soft springs. And as soon as you go to turn in, the springs start to roll, and the sway bars pick up the little bit of slack from the softer springs. So we get the best of both worlds. What we were trying to achieve, aside from a good ride quality, was being able to dial in the proper balance of the car for you, the guy who's behind the wheel. These bars give you a significant sweep of adjustment that will allow you to put understeer in your car just like it's come off the factory showroom floor. You can dial in a neutral balance into your car, which was what you would want for most tracks. And then my favorite, an oversteer balance, where you can slide around, have fun, and just get crazy behind the wheel. And we achieved that 100%, and I'm really pumped on them.Justin: Absolutely, man. And actually, we were with you doing some testing on these bars, and I got to ride with them firsthand. I could tell you, just from switching up some of the locations on the bars here, I witnessed that oversteer firsthand, or I witnessed the car push a little bit more through the turns. And it's funny, just from switching the bar back another notch or two here on the sway bar, it can have that big of an impact on your car's handling. Vaughn: Yeah, absolutely. And that was the goal. And make it easy. Just move the end links, and there you go.Justin: There you have it. Well, speaking of end links, you do have the option of picking up some adjustable end links here on the site. The rear bar does include end links, of course. And let's talk about this mounting hardware, man, because this thing is absolutely burly. What's going on with this?Vaughn: Yeah, so this is our rear bar mount for the axle, and these are billet mounts. Super heavy duty, anodized, will handle all the weather, and handle all the load that you put to them. One thing that you're never gonna hear is your sway bar mount bending or breaking when you have the car laid up in a corner. So we went super overkill, made some really strong, nice-looking mounts. And it's a solid package, and most importantly, it's functional.Justin: Absolutely, there you have it, guys. Definitely quality parts all around here. Install really isn't bad, about an hour per bar. Pretty basic stuff here as far as that's concerned. But again, if you ever have any questions, reach out to a Mustang expert any time. They'll be happy to walk you through it.So there you have it, guys. If you're looking to ditch some of the body roll and really dial in your optimal handling settings, the RTR Tactical Performance Sway Bar kit would be a great place to start. And you can grab yours right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
