Hi I’m Justin from AmericanMuscle.com and today I’m taking a closer look at these smoked OE style headlights for all 05-09 Mustangs. The title pretty much sums this one up, these lights are going to be very similar to your factory headlights in just about every way, and are going to be built to the same specs as your factory S197 headlights as well, with one obvious exception, that dark smoked appearance. That dark smoked appearance is made possible by pairing a black housing with a dark smoked lens for a look that’s going to be extremely aggressive. You can even crank up the styling by adding some smoked fog lights, or even a set of smoked turn signals, like we have installed on our 06 GT behind me. Included with these headlights are dual element H13 bulbs, however, due to the dark smoked nature of these lights, it might not be a bad idea to upgrade to a quality bulb from Raxiom, just to ensure you’re getting the best nighttime visibility. Any headlight installation in these S197s does require the removal of the front bumper cover, which will stretch the install time to about an hour using some basic hand tools. However, since there’s no additional wiring, or modification needed, getting these lights bolted up should be very straightforward.
