Hey, guys. Adam here with americanmuscle.com. And today we're taking a very quick look at and installing the SpeedForm Tail Light Covers, the tinted tail light covers available for all '15 to '17 Mustangs. You should be checking these out for your S550 if you're looking for an affordable, quick way to smoke out that rear-end, giving you a more aggressive finish without, one, picking up a new set of tail lights and without, two, picking up some tint or vinyl to cover up the tail lights. These are covers, they snap right on into place using 3M and Velcro. Now this isn't gonna be for everyone, guys, straight off the bat. If you're not really into covers and things like that for your exterior, this might not be for you but if you're looking for that aggressive finish and you really want to keep it on a tight budget, this is a great way to go. These covers are a three-piece, three for each side, so six in total, thermoformed acrylic materials, which is basically really hardened plastic that's molded specifically for these tail lights. This is not a universal kit, it's molded right for the S550, so if you're looking to snap these on, it is a pretty snug-fit all the way around. Inside, on both sides of the covers, you'll find Velcro with 3M backing. Now the 3M backing allows it to stick to your factory tail light housing without falling off. It's an automotive-grade 3M, so even at highway speeds, this thing is not gonna be blown off if applied correctly. All you'll have to do is use alcohol wipes included in the kit to wipe off those factory lights and you'll stick them into place getting as best a bond as they can. Now the cool thing about it is since they are Velcro, if you ever wanted to pop them off, all you gotta do is pull and the Velcro will disconnect and you'll be able to set them aside. The only downside to that is the other side of the Velcro will still be on your tail light housing but to each their own. Now these being an impermanent solution, being a thermoformed acrylic material, being something a little bit budget-friendly, you can expect the price tag right around that 60 bucks, 60 bucks gets you a completely changed tail light. You're really gonna be able to make that rear-end a little bit stealthier. It's also gonna blend in a little more with your Decklid panel from the factory, that's a gloss black we have back here on our '15 GT, so it blends in a little bit better getting rid of that more traditional red or clear tail light lens. Now the install, I'm gonna give, of course, one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, literally anybody can tackle this in the driveway at home with about 30 minutes from start to finish, maybe even a little bit less. Really all this entails is cleaning off your lenses, peeling off the 3M backing and sticking them right into place. They snap in, you're gonna push them in a little bit, hug the top and they'll be good to go. You'll just put pressure on each side to make sure the 3M gets a good bond. And again, if you want to pull them off, you're just gonna pull straight back, the Velcro disconnects and you can set them aside. One thing I will note about the actual fitment is while they are snug up top, they do have a little bit of a lip down low so they extend a little bit further downward than your factory tail light lens. Now that's not a problem with fitment, that's just the way that they're molded. They are extruding a little bit past the factory tail lights. Some guys might like that, some guys might not, personal preference of course, but they make the lenses look just a little bit bigger. Now I'm gonna show you every step of that process starting with cleaning the lens. So let's get to it. All right, guys, first step here is easy enough. There are alcohol prep pads included in the kit. You want to break a couple of them open. What you're gonna do is basically wipe down using the alcohol wipes, both sides of your lens on your tail light. So I'm gonna go inside here right in the middle and inside that inner edge, do it for all six little sections of the tail lights and then we'll move on to the install. You wanna make sure you're freeing this of all dirt and dust. That way your 3M on the back of the Velcro strips get a really good bond. All right, do the same thing on the other side. All right, next step, you're gonna grab each individual tail light cover, then you're gonna slop them on to the little fins or the Tri-bars on each of the tail lights. Keep in mind guys, each one of the covers is its own unique shape. They only exactly fit on one section of each tail light. So this one here I have is for the outer light, you want to pretest them. Before you take any 3M off, before you do anything, grab each section, find which one they slot into perfectly, that way you know exactly where it's gonna go so you don't mess up any of the 3M. Once you figure out where it's going, peel off the backing on the 3M strips, one on the inside, one on the outside, and click it on. You're gonna focus on the inner edge first, inside that tucked corner and then wrap it around. Tuck it in there. You're gonna put some pressure on the 3M so it gets a good bond. All right, once you've got pressure on the inside and outside, you're gonna repeat this exact process for the other ones. All right, so next up I have our cover for the middle section, just gonna peel off the backing, the inside and the outside. Now, of course, this is a Velcro strip that comes off, that way if you ever want to remove the covers, you can remove them while still having that Velcro stay on the light. That way it's an easy on-off situation. All right, from here, let's get these on. Seat those guys all the way back and move on to the next. Repeat for the other side. That's gonna wrap up my review and install for the SpeedForm Smoked Rear Tail Light Covers available for the '15 to '17 Mustangs.
