SPEC Billet Aluminum Flywheels are machined to a .001 tolerance (other brands are only made to .01) and designed and weighted for the perfect balance and surface to complement your new clutch.

    Protects Your Investment. When replacing your clutch you have two options: resurfacing your flywheel, or getting a new flywheel. Most times, getting a new flywheel is better than resurfacing, as the flywheel will dictate how well your clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.

    Rebuildable. A cheaper flywheel won't stay that way - SPEC's aluminum flywheels have a replaceable steel friction plate which makes this flywheel rebuildable. And this flywheel surface is also made from a special type of steel specifically designed to help your new clutch "bed in" properly and to promote superior grip - so this might just be the last flywheel you ever have to buy.

    SFI Certified. If you're using this flywheel in high performance or racing applications, SFI Certification is critical so you can run your Pony at the track or strip. And it's great for peace of mind even in a daily driver - at higher RPMs, stock cast flywheels have been known to explode. This SPEC Billet Aluminum Flywheel is designed for the Mustang GT's with a six bolt main. 2001 Mustangs with production date after 01/01 have a six bolt main. Please check with your Ford dealer to determine if you have a 6 bolt or an 8 bolt main.

      SPEC aluminum fly wheel

      Installation of the fly wheel is a breeze once you finish locating(tapping in) the guide studs needed to seat the back plate. Takes less than 30 minutes to complete the process and tighten the 6 retaining bolts for my 97 GT. I advise using a torque wrench instead of just jamming the bolts on with the impact gun.

      a great flywheel

      This flywheel is much lighter.i got it installed with a spec stage 2 clutch kit and the steeda clutch cable kit love the performance it gives very smooth and easy quickshifts.i recomend this flywheel.happy with spec products.

      Spec Flywheel

      Compared to the stock, there is a big difference in weight. I installed the flywheel with the Spec stage 1 clutch and its awesome. I have faster revs and better throttle response. Hands down awesome set up.

      Great design and fit

      Very pleased with the product. At first I was worried that I would not see that big of a difference with the upgrade from stock flywheel to the aluminum one. The throttle response is so much quicker and rev's so much faster, downside is that it takes it a little longer to fall in RPMs. Comes with new hardware to mount pressure plate. Friction plate looks very easy to remove and replace and thick enough not to warp. I recommend this to everyone that is replacing their clutch. I weight the aluminum flywheel in at 12.71Lbs and the stock flywheel in at 21.64Lbs.
