Remove the factory shift knob by rotating it counter clockwise. The shift boot is held onto the shift knob with tension, gently pull the off the factory shift knob
Install the supplied shift boot retainer. Thread the retainer on as far as it will go. Pull the shift boot onto the groove of the retainer.
Then thread the shift knob on until it stops. Back the shift knob off so that the shift pattern is aligned properly. Then turn the retainer counter clockwise until it locks against the shift knob.
