    Adjustable Return Springs. Installing a new shifter often equates to hoping you enjoy the new feel when rowing through the gears. That's not the case when you choose this Steeda Tri-Ax Short Throw. Designed to offer a fully adjustable shifting experience, Steeda includes four return springs to give you the shifting feel you desire. With two medium resistance and two high resistance springs, you'll be able to fine tune this Tri-Ax Shifter and never miss a gear again.

    Precision Bushings. Two key reasons to upgrade your shifter is to eliminate any unwanted slop or deflection. Utilizing rear poly bushings as well as low friction shaft bushings that are manufactured to precise tolerances, you can rest assured they fit perfectly and will provide a more direct and rigid feel. The included shifter base bushing bracket contributes to further enhance shifting performance. In addition to improved bushings, this US made shifter mounts securely to both the transmission and chassis. This aims to eliminate any "walking" you may be familiar with on fully trans-mounted shifters.

    Superior Construction. Crafted to not only reduce throw by 30 percent, this Steeda Tri-Ax weighs 20 percent less than competitors due to using a high-quality aircraft grade aluminum.     Before i look into buying this. I noticed from a customer photo i seen a mt82 trans bushing. Does this purchase come with that?

    Will this shifter work with a blowfish racing bracket?

    • Unfortunately, the blowfish racing bracket was designed to be used with the stock shifter and will not work with this Steeda shifter.

    How can i know what shift knobs are compatible with this shifter? I would love to order one with it but im worried ill order one that doesn't fit?

    • This Steeda Tri-Ax Race Short Throw Shifter would work with the factory shift knob or any aftermarket shift knob that would have the same 12mm x 1.25 thread pattern.

    • This short throw shifter will work on the V6 models yes. The GT, EcoBoost, and V6 will all carry the MT-82 transmission!

      Drag racing must have

      I didn't install it my self looked like a pain with out a lift so I took it to a shop had em do the shifter transmission mount and safety loop I told em to use the stiffer springs that come in the kit vs the medium my shifter has almost 0 play you have to use some muscle to push over left to hit first or push harder to the right for 5 straight up 3 straight down 4 ive had 0 lock out in high rpms when flying thru gears the shifts fell more solid and I think it helps with not breaking your shift forks as easily that a lot of ppl are having when trying to push these cars all in all great buy if you plan on drag racing your car, my car will stil try to break loose in 3th after shifting from second at 7200 to third smiles all day p.s you can't tighten your shift knob all the way down or you can't get in to reverse you won't be able to lift the reverse lock out high enough to put it in reverse best solution I found is put on some thread locker on the shifter before you screw on the shift knob get it as tight as you can but be able to pull up on the lock out to hit reverse and let it sit over night

      Excellent quality

      I love the upgraded steeda shifter night and day difference!!!! I had a shop do the installation my body can't flex anymore. Lol But the only thing I suggest is that you use more Dyno mat around the housing of the shifter. I did 3 layers and then did the tunnel.

      Not like the feel of the throw. Permits allot of noise into cabin even with a full roll of dynaliner. Can't return because it was installed. ☹

      Smooth, Precise, Short Throws - Perfect

      The function is perfect. Shifts feel crisp. Reverse lockout feels like stock. The medium spring is just right. It directs the stick over for you as you shift up into 3rd so you can just throw it forward. I would only recommend the heavy spring if you primarily track this car, but in that case I would also recommend a trans-mount shifter. The install took me about 5 hours on jack stands without removing the exhaust and driveshaft. I did have to lower the transmission. I used all of the Dynamat supplied and even added a bunch of closed cell foam. It still makes noises in the cabin that you don't have with the factory shifter. I am going back under the car tomorrow and plan to try to throw more sound deafening at it but not really expecting an improvement. I can live with the noises it makes. When I first installed it, I was concerned because it was rough getting it into first and even second. The plastic collar for reverse lockout has to slide against a guide on the left that is part of the shifter body. It keeps you from pushing the stick too far to the left. Initially, it was not letting me push far enough left thus creating the roughness. After two days I think I've worn a slight groove in the cost and it goes in like butter.

      Pretty solid shifter!

      Shifter feels so much better then the stock shifter. You can really bang the gears now. Only thing that would make it better is if came pre built with new shifter linkage.

      Getting Into Gear!

      This short shifter was MORE than what I expected. Shifts are concise, solid, and it truly helps with the confidence Of knowing that you won't ever miss a gear again. This was self-installed, and the toughest part was getting to a couple of bolts on top of transmission but it is possible. This Tri-Ax is made of solid material, glad I went with it. Thanks AM!

      Great product

      Install took a little longer don't know if it was the car r shifter. Had to do a little modify but sometimes it happens. So shifting is still kinda hard to get used to being a lot stiffer than factory but i will like it once use to it

      Trax short shifter

      Pros: No slop, great shifting in all gears, good resistance, less weight. Cons: Causes a substantial amount of heat and more noise. Not enough not to buy it, but can feel the heat when laying your arm down and with music on noise doesn't bother me.

      Night and day difference between stock and the steeds shifter, very precise short shifts and you as always in the right gear. I highly recommend to anyone who isn't happy with the sloppy stock shifter

      You need this

      This shifter greatly improves the time between shifts with the much shorter throws. If you are running at the track or just enjoy fast acceleration this is the one to get. I had my local dealer install for under $300. It did not add any unwanted noise in the car.

      Night and day difference in the shifting. there is no slop in the gear change. ..one click and it's there! Had a ford dealer install and they were impressed as well. I love how it sits lower...my wrist never leaves the console. Great product...this is the right shifter if you want to upgrade or race!
