What is the difference between the ST Suspension and the SR Performance sway bar kits for my '97 GT convertible? ... any performance difference? ... any easy of installation difference?

    ThomasM

    • With these two products, the only real difference would be the brand name.

    • The kit comes with two size link bolts so you can adjust accordingly for your lowered Mustang. Refer to step 9 in the installation instructions.

What hardware do I need to purchase exactly for an 01 V6 Mustang? I mean bolt grade, size, clips, etc. Also, what torque should I tighten the bolts to?

    EdwardF

    • The rear sway bar torque spec is 33 Ft-Lbs. I would recommend replacing the hardware with brand new OEM hardware from the dealership.

I have the AM staggered wheel and tire set up. I imagine this exacerbates the under steer the car has stock. Any idea if this bar is stiff enough to get a slight over steer or produce neutral handling if I keep the stock bar on the front?

    Johns2004GT

    • The ST Suspension Rear Anti-Sway Bar will help to reduce under steer, but will not produce over steer. We recommend using a matching front sway bar to achieve the most neutral handling possible.

It is a nice aftermarket replacement, but it would be better if it came with the hangers both the inter and the outer hangers

      Light night and day

The v6 only comes with a front sway bar so she is sloppy stock. I added this set up as well as lowered her 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. Handles like a dream and very responsive through curves.

      Had my doubts

My old ones broke and were worried it would break due to the brand. My old ones were Eibach and lasted until I messed up. Well these ST are still hanging in there and handles pretty good. Best bang for your buck!

      Nice improvement for cornering 8

What a wonderful improvement on my 04 V6. Factory was only 28mm compared to ST's 35mm, and weight and stiffness isn't even comparable with factory. Anti-sway bar comes complete with end links and poly bushings for everything and even the special grease. Comes with two size link bolts for thoes who have lowered suspension. Very easy install, took me about a couple of hours. Went out on on couple very windy roads and it stuck like it was on rails.

      good stuff

didnt really need to change my rear sway bar but got his just for the fun of it :) and im loving it... I already have steeda srpings, a panhard bar, new control arms and a few other handling mods, something ive been upgrading little by little in the last 3 years. This sway bar is the icing on the cake, my Mustang's rear was stiff and now is even STIFFER :)

Sway bars make a Mach1 fly through the turns

The Mach 1 is nose heavy, the first time I drove it I new the stock bars were not large enough. These bars were perfect. I drove the car at 45 mph on a curvy road and it had a fair amount of body lean. After the install I could take then same turns at 50 to 55 mph with less body roll. Install was about 3.5 hours on a lift. Everything lined up and fit perfectly. The front bar is heavy and you have to be careful, I used a jack stand to hold the weight at the center of the bar. Very pleased with the fit, finish and performance of these bars, highly recommend.

      '95 GT ST anti-roll install

I've never had a bar on the back, but when I pulled the quad shocks off to make room for the 315-35-17 (10.5 10th. Ann. Cobra wheels) the body had some serious roll issues... Luckily, I had already ordered the ST anti-roll bar. I put the back of the car on the ramps and slapped 'er on in about 15 minutes. The difference it made was like day and night. The car feels solid and the roll is gone! It's a good product and I would recommend it to anyone.

Nice to have on a v6

V6's didn't have one from factory. Stiffens up the rear a good amount. Doesn't come with hardware for us "sixers" so you'll have to go out and purchase your own. Make sure to use grade 8 bolts.

      Noticeable difference

I have a 04 GT and just bought an 02 V6. The guy i bought the v6 from ordered this bar and i got it along with the car (among other parts). Super simple install and much much thicker in diameter compared to the stock bar!! Well worth the money, im buying this bar for my GT and i have absolutely no worries on the quality.

      Freedom

My front sway bar became crooked due to an accident. The Brackets and Adapter which aren't included were twisted which caused the sway bar to lean right which would rub and grind up against my rim. It was simple to replace after I straighted the brackets. Now I can drive fast fast with control. Without worrying about my car shaking and uncontrollably

      Easy fit, great results

Got it late afternoon, install took about forty-five minutes. I noticed the new bar was noticeably heavier than the old one I removed, had a good finish, busings very firm. The new swaybar was an easy install. Parts all fit with no problems at all. Headed for country roads for a test run. First impression was the front of the car felt more firm. Cornering was flat, with no lean. This makes the car easier to manage into, thru, exiting curves. This is a huge change over the factory bar.

      ST Sway Bar

Being a v6 owner, I was tired of the car plowing through corners and handling like an old family car. I came to realize that my front away bar was tiny and the rear was nonexistent, so I started with the front. First off, this thing is huge, and heavy. Very high quality. Bolted right up with the new bushings and grease. The car handled amazing, very tight in the corners, and there was a lot more grip. I say "was" because I broke one of the end links within a week of having the bar, which is my only complaint. Buy this, and buy better hardware to attach it. SR end links are pretty cheap and higher quality. Great bar, just bad hardware.

      Quality Stabilizer bars

Stablizer bars are terrific quality and good fit. Linkage kit and bushings were cheap. Had to throw them away and buy Moog Linkage and bushing kits.
