    Swarr Bar with the Watts Link rear suspension I was looking into upgrading my suspension system for a more rigid, lowered, solid feel with less body roll and wheel hop. So here are my current finalists. 1. Eibach Pro-Street Coil Over Kit (11-14 GT, V6) 2. Whiteline Complete Watts Link Rear Suspension (05-14 Coupe) 3. Swarr Bar 8.8in Rear Support (05-14 GT, 11-15 V6 & 07-12 GT500) My questions were: 1. Would these fitments go together? 2. What more should I be considering other than camber plates and a strut tower brace?

    • Hi, All of the parts listed will work with each over because the Swarr Automotive 8.8 in. Rear Support Item #80801 sits behind the diff cover where the Whiteline Complete Watts Link Rear Suspension Item #54111 gets installed and the Eibach Pro-Street Coil Over Kit Item #47819 replaces the shocks and struts. I do suggest adjustable rear lower and upper control arms, beefier front and rear sway bars and subframe connectors to get the best handling for your mustang.

    traction bars and sway bars... I have a v6 with an 8.8" rear. Im assuming that this is a traction bar.. so here's my question... can install this baby with an Eibach Anti-Roll Sway Bar Kit? Thanks

    • Yes, you most certainly can, Eibach,Ford Racing or stock sway bars will/can only benefit from the stability this piece provides. Installation does not affect the sway bars location,upgades or fuction.It will enhance performance on what ever suspension you may happen to have. I believe it will even work with a sway bar delete/race kit setup...(Not sure because I don't have that particular set up.)It only makes the rear end stronger and has to make it last longer. Hope this helps.....

      Easy install, nice support for 8.8 rear

      Swarr bar was easy to install, fit perfectly and looks to support the 8.8 rear enough for my application. Please note, bolt in LCA relocation brackets will not work without modification because this bar uses the axle weight holes as a mounting point.

      Nice burnout!

      Pretty awesome for the price. 2nd hooks better than ever and car doesn't fish tail all over the place. Almost drives it's self through a burn out. Good job Swarr and thx AM!

      Great idea Eric Swarr!

      This bar is great to support the 8.8 rear axle tubes from cracking off and letting your tire smash into your quarter panel (happened to the American muscle grabber blue 5.0), doesn't take long to install you only have to drill 2 small holes thru the ears on the rear diff housing, great product go buy one! I put one on my gt500 and my drag GT, thanks

      2008 GT500 Swarr Rear Support

      I read some information about the product and what it can do for the vehicle (reduce wheel hop, reduce sloppy rear end feeling, better hook up...). Since the pulley, tune...those issue have gotten worse on my car! I can honestly say, this product has helped in each of those areas...(wheel hop is not eliminated, but greatly reduced). The install is very simple, it was about 45 minutes start to finish.

      works as advertised

      on a lift this part was installed in roughly 17-18 minutes,it stiffened up the tubes nicely. in the s197 chassis the weight of the vehicle in the back is placed on the axle tubes-unlike previous year fox bodies,therefor when the car squats-leans-turns or launches any rear end behavior is transmitted to the axle housing resulting in erratic axle behavior and sometimes damage. what this did was alleviate some of that stress,although I do hear more gear howl and whine-likely due to the fact this bolts to the control arm tabs-and I have bmr control arms attached to umi subframe connectors..all very stiff. this is a good "piece of mind" part.

      feels great

      had a buddy install this yesterday afternoon (he has a lift) I really like how it seems to tighten up the rear end on my V6. install was very straightforward except a little nerve wracking having to drill the 2 holes for the mounting. only thing is not sure if its because I have a v6 but I didn't have the weights like it says to remove (just used the 2 large bolts into the existing holes behind the wheels.

      This is what all Mustangs need

      If you're like me, you want to be able to throw down the power in a moments notice on the street, while occasionally venturing to the back roads and hitting the corners hard. Previous to this upgrade, launching my Stang (track pack 2013 GT) off the line was a tedious task while yielding subpar results, in my opinion. Lots of wheel hop or just not enough jump off the line... This is the only suspension upgrade I have installed on my Stang, and I really cannot say enough good things as to how much of a performance difference the Swarr Bar has made on my off the line launches and hard cornering on the backroads. The rear end stays firmly planted and doesn't shift around whether its a hard launch or hitting bumps / uneven terrain while accelerating through a tight corner. The Swarr Bar allows you to drive your Mustang the way it was meant to be driven.

      Well worth the money

      What this does is stiffen up the total rear axle assembly. When I looked at it I could not figure out how it would do anything. After installing it and seeing how it is designed I'm happy I got it. The car now still drives normal but when really pushing into a tight curve all of the factory induced oversteer is gone. My car is a 2012 V6 with stock suspension and when going fast around a curve it never really felt stable in the rear but it sure does now. I don't track or race anymore but if I did, This would be a must have item.

      Give your live axle some handling!

      This is a great product with solid engineering put into it. It's a simple, yet cost effective way to settle down your live axle. A watts-link would be best, but the cost is much higher and installation is more involved. If you have access to a lift and power tools, you could have this installed by yourself in a half hour. Crawling underneath with jack stands, I'd say an hour or slightly more maybe two by hand wrenching everything. The Swarr bar fit snug and perfectly, only hard part was drilling the holes while crawling around upside down. Solid mounting hardware, no issues as one tube clamp has a cut out for the breather tube on the axle. I haven't been able to really launch a proper drag strip test, but with the first snowfall today and ice, on all season stock tires, it's much more composed and no squirming. In fact, the traction control just flickers and then the car goes straight. That's a huge plus if you've even driven a Mustang on icy conditions. Usually the traction control cuts in hard as the car jiggers side to side until you let off the throttle or short shift. Seeing SUVs still on season spin all fours and the Mustang pull away from them has me sold on the improvements. I'm still on a stock suspension otherwise, and can't wait till next spring to really get on it at the strip.

      Very Surprised

      I had expected a better launch and less wheel hop, what I did not expect was the drastic improvement while cornering. the rear end seems to squat, bite, and go! One of my best mods so far. Fast shipping as normal from AM. The only downside was packaging, the box seemed to be tossed down several flights of stairs before it got to my door, the finish of my bar was scratched and chipped to bare metal in several spots. I was painting mine anyway so no big deal for me. but they could do something to protect the finish during shipping. Over All I am more than happy. I have told all mustang owners I meet about this bar.

      MUST HAVE for a GT500!

      This should have come on the car from the factory. Wheel hop B-gone! Installed this with a set of J&M Extreme Joint Lower Control Arms and now it's nothing but grab and gone when hammering the throttle! No wheel hop, no rear end sliding out. Cornering is vastly improved. You can feel how much more solid the rear end is. Install was easy as can be. Drilling through the ears on the differential wasn't fun but it didn't take too long. It seems a little pricey for a piece of welded metal BUT it is well worth the improvements in handling. If you have a GT500, or any Stang with high hp, BUY THIS!

      Swarr bar

      Fairly easy installation. I did have to bores one of the bolt holes so the supplied hardware would fit. One of the previous reviews mentions a vent that is in the way: they must have modified the design because mine came with a provision for the vent on the drivers side clam. The only reservation I have is that the passenger side seemed to by just a hair short, it was not quite flush with the mounting point. It did bolt up and is pretty solid, though. I did a set of lower control arms at the same time as the swarr bar. The rear feels better connected to the road especially in curves. It glides effortlessly around corners and I feel in better control of the car. I wouldn't say wheel hop has been eliminated for me. These two mod are the only suspension mods I've done. The swarr bar will net you about +2 lbs.

      More stable in turns, great for drifting.

      The product is well made, and high quality. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to improve the cars handling when under throttle in the apex of a turn. The backend drifts out smoothly and predictably giving the driver more confidence. The only challenges were drilling two 3/8 holes into the housing for two included bolts. The other challenge was replacing the 8 short bolts that clamp onto the axel with 8 longer bolts. The included short bolts were difficult to thread, so I replaced them with longer bolts making it MUCH easier to thread the nut(process was difficult because I was on my back working blindly under the car).

      Does Exactly What it's Supposed To.

      The welds and finish on this are great. Plus the holes line up excellent. The only issue I had that I saw and no one else has mentioned is the fact that the one top axle clamp on the driver side goes right over the breather. There was no way around this except to cut a hole big enough to go around the breather while still making it functional. After drilling that hole and the holes in the differential housing, it went right together. Took about 2 hours including the drilling. After drag racing, you can see how the tubes can twist. This bracket minimizes any negative affects from drag racing and dead hooking. It also makes for a good place to tie the car down on a trailer.

      Superior Upgrade

      This is a quick easy install. I took several hours just becuase I was cleaning up the axle while the car was on jacks. It's amazing how much better the car performs now. I used to fishtail almost all the way thru second gear before she'd hook up and go. Now there's some minor squirm right before the tires grab pavement and she LEAPS forward. I really didn't expect $200 to make this big of an improvement! If you like to drive fast, you NEED this. Cornering abilities have vastly improved as well. Corners I used to slide around, I can now dive in hard and rocket out. THANKS AMERICAN MUSCLE!!!

      Swarr bar project speed shop race car

      the only reason why I had trouble with this part putting it on my car was it does not state anywhere on the website that if you have the welded on BMR lower control arm relocation kit the part will not fit correctly spent hours of modifying just to get it on but time we'll spent the car has amazing launch control and definitely can fill the reduced wheel hop but car loves to drift now so if you in to that you will love the Swarr bar
