    Ask a Question

Is this a plastic of metal emblem and does it have locater pins on the back? My 05 does not have fender emblems. Can I cut off the pins (if it has them) and stick this on the fender with 3m adhesive? Does the emblem have adhesive already? Is it metal or plastic? thanks.

    SEAGABS

    • This fender emblem is plastic with a bright chrome finish. It does have pegs on the back used for installing as well as the adhesive. However, many customers have cut off the pegs and sanded them down to install with the adhesive only and have had great results!

Dimensions What Are the dimensions of this product?

    CMCStallion

    • Don't you wish American Muscle realized that Emblem sizes are important to buyers? It is 4 1/4 inches tall by 4 inches wide (tail to nose of the pony). Hope this helps. PS It is a great product and holds up very well to the elements. Sky President

Can it be reapplied if taken off?

    BradS197

    • Yes. You must first be very careful removing them, so as to not ruin your paint,or crack the emblem. Then use "emblem glue" (or 3M Tape) to reapply them. Hope this helps. Sky President Nice product too...holds up real well in the weather.

Would they fit to replace the stock tri-bar pony emblems on the fenders of 2000 V6? Would these work to replace to the old tri bars on the fenders of my 2000 V6

    iSayWhtSheFeels

    • The Emblems have 3 pegs on the back, and I do not know if they will fit in the factory holes of a 2000 Mustang (as the part lists fitting 05-09); however, many people just file, or cut the pegs off and use the 3M tape provided to stick the emblem where they want it to be. I added these to my 2005 Mustang (which did not have any emblems) and they look as good today as when I installed them 6 months ago: very durable, shiney, and an attractive accent to my Mustang's fenders. If you also cut off, or file off the back pegs, the emblems should stick on your 2000 Mustang as they stick on my Mustang. It is a choice you will have to make. Also, be certain there is no major "size" difference...I do not know how big the Tri-Bar emblems are on a 2000 Mustang. I hope that my response answered your question...if so...please click "helpful" below. Thanks!

      New fender badge

I like the new badge I received for my car. Still waiting on the second one but they will be a nice addition to the car. Price is a bit steep for a piece of plastic though. But that's what you get when its a lisenced product.

Thought they were metal, but its just plastic.

These can bend very easily, so be careful with them. They also have two prongs on the back that were left on from the mold, so youll have to take a pair of pliers and break them off, unless you want to drill 2 holes into your fender.

      Classic!

What can you say, it's a Ford part. It's perfect. I like the retro look of these better than the GT badges.

      Awesome

These are awesome! They are a really nice size, and great quality. I was slightly skeptical about the price, $40 for each emblem is quite steep, but it's totally worth it. They are even slightly curved to fit the body of the Mustang. They DO have the pins on the back, but I removed them with pliers and sanded it down just a bit. Also, through some research, the factory placement is 3.5" from the top of the emblem to the crease of the car, and 3.5" from the top of the tail to the front of the door. Hope that helps!

      Nice Looking, Classic Emblem!

A really nice looking, classic Tri-Bar Mustang pony emblem. The two rear tabs remove very easily with a Dremel Tool or similar device, for mounting to flat surfaces without drilling. The 3M tape backing sticks firmly, even to an interior headliner. The emblem itself has a very slight, inward bend along the tri-bar to match the original fender curve of the 05-09 V6, where it was designed to attach and fit... I attached it to my interior headliner on my 2008 GT500KR (see photo). Yeah, I know, some will call that overkill. But it's still a pony at heart, and I wanted a Mustang emblem someplace to reflect that heritage.

      Tri-Bar Pony

I like the way they look, and the coloring is good - just not crazy about the price, since they come from Ford. I bought the Powered By Ford emblems also, and they were made of metal, with high quality. If Ford wanted to really impress me, they would have made the tri-bar out of metal, especially for the price. Overall satisfied with the way they look - just don't touch them.

After adding louvers to the windows, my silver Mustang needed just a bit of color. The fender emblem did just that. Pleased once more!

      Look great

Had to file off the tips due to it not having the holes drilled into the side but not a huge deal. Positioning was not too difficult, 3" from the top off the tribar to the curve on the side, then 3" from the tail to the edge of the side frame. Great look for any v6.

      Great product

I bought these emblems for my 06 because I wasn't crazy about the GT emblems. They fit the same alignment holes left by the GT emblems and in my opinion look better. The plastic seems to be of good quality, and tape seems adequately sticky. These emblems are of those subtle mods like the shorty antenna or the tri-bar center caps that most people would probably never notice, but if you're a stickler for details it's definitely worth it. Removing the old emblems was a bit of a pain, however, with the help of some fishing line, a hair dryer and a bit of goo-gone, I was able to get it done in about 25 minutes. Thanks AM.

      Boss 302 alternative emblem

When I first seen the price of the Boss 302 pony emblem at $100 I instantly knew I wasn't paying that. Well good news for you, I spend about a week doing research and found out this emblem was almost the same size as the Boss 302 emblem reps told me. After receiving the emblem in the mail I had to do a test fit. BOOM! An exact perfect fit! Save yourself the money and get this emblem at a fraction of the price of the Boss 302 emblem. Personally I think it looks cleaner and has more shine as well. Emblem used on a 2014 GT with Boss 302 grille.

Little salty about the price considering I had to pay $40 apiece for these things but I disliked the GT badges on my 10 and would rather have these pony badges instead

      Amazing

This was a great addition to my car, very high quality. My car had no fender badge at all, and I thought it looked pretty boring so I bought these. The adhesive is more than strong enough to hold them on, and the guide pins sand off easily. Aline them 4 1/2" below the body line and 5 1/4" from the door gap for the factory look.

      Spice up the side

These fender badges are a great way to add an extra something to the side of your ride. They do come with tabs molded into the badge itself, so if you plan to apply them to the side of your vehicle, sanding/grinding down those metal tabs will be necessary.
