need to open your trunk for the inside of your car?

We all know some mustangs don't have trunk release ,so this is a great way to put one in your mustang.

Easily remedy your missing 2005 trunk release button

Even though this product is listed as a 79-93 switch, it worked perfectly with my 2005. This particular switch comes solo, without any wiring, but as long as you have some 18 gauge wire and a few connectors, you're good to go. Installation time for me took about three hours, but that was because I wanted mine integrated into the lighting switch module, so I had to remove more dash panels. It fits perfectly there - I would highly suggest using a step drill bit no matter where you install it, and you may (like I had to) have to alter the plastic wings that hold it secure. Absolutely love the OEM look this gives, let alone being able to access the trunk without having my fob with me at all times.

Why did'nt Ford think of this?

It took 6 mo. and 28,500.00 plus tax just to find out Ford forgot to put a trunk release in the car. (don't get me wrong, I love my Sonic Blue 05 GT) but it is frustrating when you are working on it and may not have the key fob around. This button worked really well, took about 1hr. to install. Super product!!! Thanks.

      Looks good

Works well but wires need to be longer to allow you to route around glove box without issue.

      POP THE TRUNK

This is a must have. The directions were well written and easy to follow. The ground wire was a little short so you might have to get some wire to extend the length depending on where you put the switch.

      Great Bang For Your Buck!

This is a great product and something that should have been included in the 2005-2009 Mustangs. Takes more time than indicted in the provided instructions, but is easy to install if you take your time and check behind what you are drilling into. I definitely recommend it as an easy addition.

This took no time at all to hook up. The part works, but the quality of the button is low.

every modern car should have one

I'm not sure why Ford left this out but thank God American muscle has one available. The install is very easy if you follow the directions. Hardest part is deciding where you want to mount the button. Depending where you mount it will determine how much paneling you'll have to remove. If you've ever installed a stereo or push button starter, is about the same. Great product, and gives your mustang great function ability.
