      Review & Installation Video

Well, guys, this one is pretty simple. If you want to change out this dingy old filament bulb in the reverse taillight of your S550 and replace it with something more fitting, you should be checking out Vividline's reverse light LED conversion kit. At $22.50, this is a great way to make that reverse light of yours match the rest of the LED lighting that's already present on your S550. Pretty straightforward, this bulb puts out 510 lumens, whereas the filament bulb that your car came with is not all too bright. So, this will fill out the diffuser of that reverse light, make it a lot brighter, make it look more modern, and it's not going to kind of glow in and out slowly. It'll actually match the rest of your lighting on the rear end of your S550. At $22.50, again, this is a very inexpensive little upgrade. I honestly would say that if you want to buy a replacement bulb from Ford, it'll probably cost you about the same. And, honestly, you should pick up the LED bulb because it runs around 100,000 hours versus about 3,000 hours for your factory bulb. Install's very easy, as you're literally changing a light bulb, so it gets one out of three wrenches on my difficulty meter, and it should take you no more than five minutes. This is super-easy. You're literally just changing a light bulb. You can very easily do this on the ground. All you're doing is crawling underneath your rear bumper cover, I'm actually going to put the car up on the lift so I can get you a better idea of what that connection looks like and how to actually swap these bulbs out. All right, so like I said, changing that light out is very simple. You don't need any tools. You're going to locate the bulb housing up here, and it's going to be right inside the bumper cover, and you're going to twist counter-clockwise. You'll twist until it pops out, and then, literally, it's just a matter of pulling the bulb out and putting your new bulb in the same place. So, go ahead and pop it back in. Make sure it's seated nice and secure. Pop it back into this hole up here. Line up all the plastic retainers until you find them seated evenly, and once you have them seated, just twist clockwise, and you should feel it lock back into place. So, like I said, a very easy install. I'm Travis. Thanks for watching. For all things Mustang, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.

Looks great but expensive for a bulb

Install was straight forward. At first it did not light. However, LED's require the polarity to be correct. Pulled the bulb out, reversed it, plugged it in....works great. Much brighter at night than the OEM bulb. Takes 5 minutes or less to install. Would recommend but $50 is steep for a bulb.

        Bright Lights

What a big difference in the lighting behind as you back up at night. This LED bulb gives you a clear view of what is behind you. It was a simple process to change out with the original equipment bulb without having to jack up the car.

        Easy replacement, brighter.

Very simple to install, less than 5 minutes. Brighter, but hoping for more. Only so much brightness can come from something so small I suppose.

The guy in the video says several times the bulb is only $22.50 but your listing it at $44. which is correct Thanks Robert A Williams

I was wondering if the brighter LED made a glare or made it harder to see using rear view camera?

      • No, this will not create a glare or make it harder to see, it will make it easier to see as everything through the screen will be brighter.
