Review & Install Video
Hey, guys, Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview and installation of a few underhood dress-up pieces, including the coolant reservoir cap cover, the oil cap cover, the washer fluid reservoir cap replacement, and the oil dipstick handle cover, all featuring the Running Pony logo, all fitting 2015 and newer GT, V6, and EcoBoost model Mustangs.
So, of course, in this video, I'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect out of all these underhood dress-up pieces, including their materials and construction. I'll even walk through the installation, which, of course, will get a very easy one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, considering they're just underhood dress-up replacement caps and covers.
So the washer, coolant, oil, and of course, dipstick handle covers will be for any 2015 or newer GT, V6, or EcoBoost model Mustang owner looking to get a stylish and noticeable piece for their underhood dress-up kit to spice up their engine bay to really grab some heads, especially useful at those car shows. So these four pieces you see with me today are all offered individually and can really spice up the engine bay of your S550. And we all know it's already got a very stealthy and black appearance, with the exception of that coolant tank, so you can really spice it up with some chrome and, of course, these brushed aluminum options here that can replace those boring factory caps.
So as I mentioned, these are like a brushed aluminum material here, but a very noticeable one at that. I also wanna point out here that we have a washer fluid reservoir cap. Now, this is going to be a complete replacement for your factory cap, allowing you to remove that and completely swap it out with this option here. These other options, however, are just covers. So this coolant reservoir cap is only going to cover your factory option. The same with the oil cap and the oil dipstick handle cover.
These are all manufactured out of a T6061 billet aluminum and, of course, will hold up against those engine temperatures. So as I mentioned, they all have that Running Pony logo actually engraved right into the materials in red on top of a textured finish, brushed billet aluminum materials, as I mentioned before.
Now, this one I have here is the coolant reservoir cap cover and, of course, has that "CAUTION HOT" engraved into the middle of it. Now, on top of that, we've got the oil cap cover that says, "USE FACTORY RECOMMENDED OIL." Moving along to the washer fluid reservoir cap, now, remember, this one's the complete replacement and obviously has that "WASHER FLUID ONLY" engraved into it. And then to top it all off, we've got the oil dipstick handle cover that simply has that Running Pony.
Now, all together, this makes for a pretty attractive underhood dress-up kit. And the price tag really isn't all that bad. Now, if you've been looking around for those underhood dress-up pieces, you know the price tags are pretty, pretty similar all around. Now, with this one, you can expect to pick these up for about $40 for each individual piece. Again, like I said in the beginning, this is not an entire kit, but 40 bucks a piece, you can get each individual piece. And that's a pretty common price tag, comparing it to some of the other options out there.
Shifting gears over to the installation portion of the video, like I said in the very beginning, this is gonna be a simple enough job for anybody to take care of with about five minutes' time in the driveway at home. The washer fluid reservoir cap, again, is a complete replacement, so you remove your factory cover, pop it on with a new one. Moving on to the other two caps, these are using 3M automotive bonding tape. Just peel off the backing and stick them over your factory cap.
Now, the oil dipstick handle cover uses a hex bolt to really sandwich in-between your factory cover. So that's a simple job. You can get done in a couple of minutes with that hex bit. So over all, again, about five minutes' time in the driveway there, a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. So this underhood dress-up piece that we have here, all four individual pieces, will be a very simple install anybody can take care of.
Just to wrap things up here, if you're the owner of a 2015 or newer GT, V6, or EcoBoost Mustang and you're looking for a noticeable billet aluminum underhood dress-up kit, you might wanna check out these individual pieces here. We've got oil cap cover, coolant reservoir cap cover, washer fluid cap replacement, and, of course, the oil dipstick handle cover, all of which are available right here at americanmuscle.com.
