    Review & Install Video

Hi I’m Justin with, and I’m going to be breaking down Whiteline’s front control arm brace fitting all 2005-2010 Mustangs. If you’re not familiar with Whiteline here’s what you need to know, they’re a company that focuses solely on producing quality performance suspension components for a wide variety of vehicles. The goal of this control brace is to reduce front end flex, and help maintain alignment angles and proper suspension geometry under turning loads. It’s able to accomplish this by linking and triangulating the chassis to the suspension using 4 different mounting points. Taking a closer look at the brace itself it’s actually pretty impressive, you can see Whiteline went with a lightweight aluminum tubing for the construction, and incorporated these two triangles for added strength and stability. Finally the entire package is finished off with a very cool anodized gold finish, the brace comes with all the hardware and brackets necessary for installation, because of this and the quality of fit and finish, this should only take you about an hour from start to finish. So if you’re looking for a way to help reduce front end chassis flex in your S197 Mustang, then be sure to check out this highly rated brace from Whiteline performance right here at

Increases Chassis Stiffness. Increase the stiffness of your Mustangs chassis and add additional control arm support with a Whiteline Performance Four Point Front Lower Control Arm Brace. This Whiteline brace helps maintain your Mustangs alignment angles and spring rates by greatly reducing unnecessary chassis flex.

Superior Materials. Fabricated from light weight aluminum tubing for strength, this Mustang front control arm brace is completed in a gold anodized finish for durability and corrosion resistance. All the required hardware is included for a bolt-in installation.

Application. This Whiteline Performance Four Point Front Lower Control Arm Brace is designed to fit all 2005 to 2010 Mustangs including V6, GT, Bullitt and Shelby GT500 models.

Does this eliminate the need for a strut tower brace? with this part installed would installing a strut tower brace make any more improvements

    • Personally I would run both. Mine came with the strut tower brace, and adding this whiteline brace improved upon that dramatically.

Anyone run this with the Steeda Rad Support? Looks like the BMR is a little shorter, not sure about the Steeda Rad Support.

    • The Whiteline Front Control Arm Brace will be compatible with the Steeda Tubular Radiator Support, as the Steeda is designed to keep the sway bar bushings in the OEM location, and this is where the control arm brace will mount.

Will this work with BMR lower radiator support?

    • It should be compatible if you have your stock k-member. If you have a BMR k-member, then it won't work. BMR has their own version of this brace; CB004. As long as you are using the stock clamps on your BMR radiator support and you have a stock k-member; it will work.

BMR & Whiteline? Will this fit with the BMR Tubular K-Member - Standard Motor Mounts (05-10 All)

    • The BMR Tubular K-Member - Standard Motor Mounts - Hammertone (05-14 All) (Item #102045) actually acts as a control arm brace, so if you bought the BMR k-member, it would make the Whiteline Front Control Arm Brace (05-10 All) obsolete as you wouldn't need it anymore.

      More Than Expected Results

First the bad. I had to give this four stars for fit due to the nuts welded to the bracket had to be removed. I couldn't get the bolts to thread properly and had to dremel them out and use the extra included nuts instead adding extra time to the install. This was more of a slight annoyance then a significant problem. Otherwise this products fits perfectly. The only challenge is getting the nuts on the bolts for the rear mounts. You can see where these get mounted in my picture submissions. With a little patience getting the nuts on without removing the a-arms is easy enough. There is also room enough to get a closed end 19mm wrench on the nut to tighten the bolts down on the rear (2) mounts. As others have mentioned steering is improved and the front end feels much stiffer. Even though the front end is stiffer steering seems much smoother. I am perplexed by one unexpected outcome and hopefully someone from AM or Whiteline can offer an explanation. In my neighborhood the roads have a great deal of ridges and bumps due to road repair. With my vehicle lowered with the EIbach Pro System Plus and NITTO Extreme Performance NT555 255/45 on 20" Shelby Razors the ride change from stock was as expected much stiffer, and every little bump in the road was significantly pronounced. This change in ride comfort was expected but the change in ride comfort that this Front Control Arm Brace changed was very much not expected. I made it less than a block before I was left with a "WTF" moment. Ride comfort has been GREATLY improved. I'm hesitant at trying to give a percentage of improvement, but I would place a 60-70% improvement in ride comfort. I no longer feel every single one of these grooves with as much stiffness has before installation. This brace has made such a remarkable improvement in ride quality with this setup. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a lowered ride. I hope someone can chime in on why this brace makes such a difference in ride quality. And as always kudos to AM for great shipping and customer service.

I had to remove my strut tower brace due to the fact that I installed a CDC Shaker ram air system onto my 2007 Mustang V6 convertible. I sold my strut tower brace and eventually purchased this Whiteline front control arm brace. It's a marked improvement over my old strut tower brace providing much better chassis stiffness and quicker steering response. Thank you American Muscle for finally stocking this fine Whiteline product! By the way, it took my mechanic (I didn't feel like getting dirty that day!) less than an hour to install. The product uses existing mounting points and is a complete bolt on item.

      Worthwhile investment

The fit and finish on this product was excellent. It took approximately an hour to install. I could feel the difference in the steering the first time I drove the car and the front end does not lean as much in corners. I highly recommend this brace.

      The icing on the cake.

How to make an '07 GT convertible handle more like a sports car and less like a dog on roller skates: 1) Koni STR.T shocks and struts all round; 2) axle control arms with nylon bushes; 3) front strut brace; 4) this Whiteline brace for improved steering feel, flatter cornering, and less cowl shake. The car is stable even on bumpy roads and surprisingly "chuckable" in the turns, even to the point of being able to balance it with the gas pedal. Only downside is a slightly stiffer ride (car is not lowered) but it's a price well worth paying.

I have a 2008 Bullitt and it has some suspension upgrades but the White Line front control arm brace was a great addition. Very easy install and looks good under the front. On the first drive I noticed some improvement on the steering response, but mostly there is a better feel in the front and much smoother.

      Whiteline control arm brace

As expected of Whiteline this control arm brace is a well made part that comes with the hardware needed to install it. The bolt holes on the side that attaches to the control arm were a little off center which made installing the bolts more difficult but with some prying they fit. This brace adds rigidity to the front suspension to improve handling and it does work. Apparently Ford decided it was worth adding to the car because the newer 2011-2014 models come with a similar brace from the factory.

Good bang, not sure about the bucks...

OK, let's start with the good... it works as advertised, it even stopped my front end pop that I had under hard cornering. Now for the not-so-great... it arrived with missing hardware, which other than the principle of it, isn't that big of a deal, right? Go to the hardware store, buy a couple of missing washers (I had to get a pack of six to replace two), buy a couple of bolts (Hey! They had single packs of those, that's great!) and buy a couple of nuts (Luckily they had those in singles, too, because the bolts they had didn't have the same thread pitch forcing me to buy nuts to fit the replacement bolts for the missing hardware.) It isn't the few dollars for the hardware, it isn't even the drive in to the hardware store sifting through bins to find what I needed, it's the fact that I paid SO MUCH (for what it is, not what it does) for this part only to find an open bag of hardware with missing parts. Oh, and did I mention that it doesn't have the appearance of being "gold anodized", it has more of a "dipped in cheap gold house paint" look. One other thing, when you are installing it, watch out, it sits against a "tab" on your steering rack on the passenger side. Don't get me wrong, it's a good piece and the handling improvement is right up there with a strut tower brace, the two together change the whole feel of the car, both through the wheel and seat of the pants, but I am less than thrilled with the missing hardware and the "paint" on my particular piece. If you are looking for better handling and road feel, I recommend this product.

My daddy ordered me this for my Birthday and I own a 2007 GT Fastback. I can honestly say this is worth the money. It makes my ride handle a lot better. It just grips the road and its that tight feeling you like in a car. I very well recommend this to everyone that wants better handling. It took me and my dad a good weekend to put this together. I love All American Muscle.

Does not fit with BMR Radiator Support Brace

I have spent a small fortune from American and this was the first disappointment. My box came and looked like it had been sitting for ALONG time. The finish is more dull brown than anodized gold. Which was very disappointing. Didn't care to much about the color since it would hardly ever be seen. Though the brace just simply doesn't bolt up if you have the BMR radiator support brace, which is a bit shorter and throws off the geometry. Back it will go.

      Not bad!

I don't normally write reviews but this piece seemed to warrant one. I seem to have braces all over my car; I have a front and rear strut tower brace as well as a cross brace where the rear seats used to be. When I saw that Whiteline had a brace for the front control arms, I had to get it! American Muscle was very quick to ship this to me as usual. The actual brace is tubular and made of lightweight aluminum which I like. I must note, like some others have noted, that the kit was missing pretty much every nut and washer, it came with only the bolts and the two big gold spacers and brackets. I happen to work at a hardware store so that was no problem. I also replaced all of the class 8.8 bolts it came with with class 10.9 metric bolts for added strength. Installation was very easy, I made sure to jack the car up and put some flat surfaces under the wheels and then lowered it again so that the brace would be installed with the car's suspension under load. I loosened the middle mounts of the front sway bar to install the brackets. Someone in another review said that they were unable to use the nuts that come welded to the brackets, I am happy to report that that was not the case for me and I didn't have to do any modification to them for the install. The installation guide states that you only have to use the gold spacers for certain Shelby Cobra models of the Mustang, but I used them on my brace anyway because it was very close to some other parts of the car and I didn't want to have anything hitting or rubbing against one another. The car is noticeably smoother at speed and does soak up rough roads and bumps a little more in the front end. I also noticed that I can take high speed corners faster now and make rapid high G-force turns (lol) with more confidence. It's a solid piece that I am sure will complement the Whiteline Wattslink I plan to put on my car later on. One problem I had for a little while after a week of driving is that I was getting a horrible creaking noise at the front of my car. I went under my car twice to re-adjust everything but the noise was still there. I figured out that I tightened the four center sway bar nuts (where the brace brackets attach to) a little too tight, and it was clamping down of the sway bar bushings too hard. This was not allowing the sway bar to move from side to side and was putting stress on everything, which made a very loud creaking sound. So make sure you don't over tighten anything! I definitely recommend this product!

front end handling like it should

i was a bit skeptical of how much of a difference this brace would have until i bolted it on. the difference was night and day for me. this is how i imagine the front end of a mustang should feel from the factory if ford had done it right! the brace bolts on quickly and easily to existing points and i had no trouble getting it all done in about 30 minutes. overall, once this thing is installed, the front end feels SOLID! before installation, if i drove over a bump on one side of the car, it would feel like the chassis was flexing and the car would want to dip / follow the bumps in the road. after installation the front end feels truly linked together and bumps don't cause this problem anymore. corners feel great, the car doesn't try to roll through them anymore. this is the single best handling upgrade i have done so far (i've swapped struts, shocks, gt500 upper strut mounts, ford racing lower front control arms). for installation, it is a breeze... the factory sway bar is unbolted easily from the chassis, you pull it away from the bolts and slip on the whiteline bracket then re-bolt the sway bar back on. next you attach the brace to the new brackets, and to the chassis where the lower control arm attaches to. the most frustrating part is getting the nut in the small space with your fingers (you don't need to remove the control arms for this). you will want to use a 19mm wrench to hold the nut in place next to the control arm while you torque down the bolt below (you'll understand when you get under the car)

Whiteline Front Control Arm Brace for 05-10 Mustangs

The directions were fairly straight forward and the install was very easily performed in a short time, about an hour involved including double checking everything. You can tell right out of the box that the arm brace is made of high quality material and once installed, there is a noticeable difference in handling. I have also have a tower brace in the engine compartment and perhaps the combination of the two make for a very solid and responsive handling ride. Thanks American Muscle for another quality product!

      Quality, It works, but...

This is an awesome product, I could feel the difference right away, it works so well I can clearly feel the suspension pieces I need to upgrade, and will. Only reason for a 4 star is the fitment. The passenger side of the factory drilled mounting hole was covered by half of the brace so I had to drill the hole larger and use a fender washer with the nut. I know the frame to be true as I just had an alignment and the tech said the frame/alignments were perfect, car also only has 53k miles. I would highly recommend this product, just have a set of sharp drill bits on in just in case ;)
