Justin: Hey everybody, Justin with AmericanMuscle.com. I'm here and we're at our local drag strip, MIR, with our 2015 EcoBoost Mustang. Now the whole premise of today is to do some more real-world testing with the help of the Bama Performance team. Now our goal, take our bone stock 2015 automatic EcoBoost with the exception of a drag radial, run it down the track a few times, get some baseline numbers with this car, then pull it into the pits, install an Airaid cold air intake system, a Bama tune and then re-run it and see what time we've actually shaved off. Now it should be a great day for racing here. We've got some nice cool air. So let's get this thing to the line and see how it does. 13.64 at 98. It's nice, cold air out here and these turbo cars love that cold air. So for a stock car, that's pretty respectable. So I guess now we'll just get it in the pits. All right Mike from Bama Performance is pulling double duty for us here today. He just installed the Airaid cold air and now he's in the car working on the tune. Mike, what can everybody expect using a tune here on the EcoBoost? Mike: Well, with the EcoBoost with the turbo, we're going to focus on some boost, obviously. We're going to run the car at about 2200 psi, whole boost all the way through so it doesn't drop off. Spent a lot of time on the throttle. Factory is only about 40%. We want to hold it open a lot longer, especially on full throttle. Adjust the shift pressure so we can get better shifts. We're also going to spring-boost it a little quicker even on part-throttle, so a whole lot of changes. Justin: Nice. I mean, well, I'm interested to see how these changes affect our performance, so finish up with that tune, man, let's get this thing in line. Mike: You got it. Justin: All right, guys. So, a 12.9, 103. I mean, there you go, right intake and the tune, the Bama tune is doing its job. Paul: I'm really happy. That's why we like coming to the track. So we can take a look at the data logs in a real-world environment, revise that track tune and get the best time out of it. Justin: There you go. Real-world testing for you guys. A nice, easy mod, a tune and you're shaving off more than a half of a second and picking up some mile-an-hour on the quarter-mile. So, that's it. We're out of here. It's dark. They're kicking us out. Compact Design. The SF4/X4 Power Flash Tuner measures in at 2.7” wide X 5.5” tall making it much smaller than the original SF3/X3 for easy storage in your center console or glove box.   • Hey Miro Its more wear on the car overall, you can run the race tune daily with out problems, its just such an aggressive tune that most people don't like the way it feels in normal traffic conditions. But hey if you feel like cooking chevys while on your morning commute to work go for it!

What is the extent of mods you can send to BAMA team for the custom tunes? Anything?

If I put a catless downpipe on my mustang it's going to throw P0420 from my research. Will this tuner disable the rear o2 sensor so my check engine light isn't on or what's my best option for that.

  • The Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner come with custom tunes, so as long as you specify that your vehicle is catless, Bama can adjust for that change to ensure the CEL does not illuminate for that reason.

I have an Us version 2.3 eco use in China... and I do have a sct device. Can I use bama tune? And if I wanna get the Cpe big turbo kits installed. Can bama also support the software match?

  • Yes, since you have the SCT device and a US Version Mustang, BAMA can tune for your vehicle. BAMA will need to know what octane fuel you have access to so they can properly generate tunes that will work for your vehicle. BAMA cannot tune for the larger turbo kits at this time. I suggest reaching out to BAMA (1-888-226-9764) so they may be able to assist you further.

    2017 Premium Ecoboost tuned perfectly

This must have been the easiest tuner on the planet, Is a must for anyone that wants to add mods and get the most out of your car. Also the lifetime tunes for as long as you have your car which definitely sticks out above the others for this price range. Just buy it you wont be disappointed.

    Great Performance!

    I have personally ran the BAMA X4 tune and this JMS BoostMAX booster. I have ran them together and separately. Lets talk about stand alone for each unit. BAMA X4: Great power gains and really keeps the car from falling on it's face past 4k RPM's. The torque is also a very nice addition worth mentioning. The launch and mid pull of the car is so much more smooth and the turbo lag is almost non-existent. JMS BoostMAX: This is a plug and play module that will transform your car without having to flash your ECU. My car runs (In my opinion) better with the JMS BoostMAX than with the BAMA X4 tune. The throttle response is better, the 0 - 60 times are better and top end speeds are higher. Now let me talk to you about them being stacked together. (Please Note and read below, this set up gives incredible gains in power and will need the following or the turbo/motor can be damaged) BAMA X4 and JMS BoostMAX stacked: This combination is absolutely amazing and you really have to be careful and make sure you are straight when you punch it, because it will literally make the back end come around on you (I've had the back end try to come around on me going 40MPH and punching it on a straight away). Upgrade of the BOV, Intercooler, intercooler piping, downpipe and catback exhaust is required to for this set up. It produces way to much power for the stock hardware and it will cause the turbo to overheat because it's not getting enough air flow in and out of the turbo. How do I know this? Because this happened to me and I thought the two just didn't work well together, but I was very wrong. My car was pushing so much boost and air, that the stock hardware couldn't handle it and after 3-4 hard pulls, it would throw an engine code saying the car is low on boost, because the car was automatically lowering the spark of the engine to keep it from damaging the car. When this happens, the car is set to 10PSI and it will throw an engine code telling you "Underboost Condition detected". I thought there was something wrong with stacking BAMA X4 and the JMS BoostMAX together. After many calls to BAMA, they sent me a RMA UPS Label to return the tuner. I had 30 days to return it and I knew I needed to upgrade my stock hardware anyway, so that's exactly what I did. All I can say is "WOW!". The turbo no longer over heats and the power increase blew my mind. Car is running around 26 PSI with both stacked together and the motor is producing 430 horsepower / 480lbs of torque. The car runs low 12s through the quarter mile and goes from 0 - 60 in 4.5 seconds (If you can launch it without spinning) It gives me a lot of happiness knowing this 4 banger is blowing V8's out the water on the street. The lower weight and high torque makes this car hard to out run 0 - 100. Top in, the V8's always take me, but who cares about top ends? And how does this car perform around curvy roads? well, let's just say a hellcat couldn't keep up with me. Car is too heavy and doesn't hug the curves like my little ecobeast! Final conclusion to everyone. Get this set up immediately if you have the funds to do so. My set up will cost you roughly $5000 with all parts and labor. Why not just buy the turbo upgrade kit for that price? Because with stock hardware, you wouldn't be able to handle that much power. My next step is to upgrade to a 55MM Turbo system, but for right now, I'm very happy with my little 4 banger. My mobs are as followed: Turbosmart 10psi Wastegate = $140 Turbosmart 30PSI Max recirculating BOV = $207 Roush Cold Air Intake = $380 Mishimoto Intercooler = $520 Mishimoto Intercooler Piping = $388 Mishimoto High Flow Catted Downpipe = $520 Mishimoto Oil Cooler = $535 Custom Flowmaster Catback exhaust = $600 JMS BoostMAX Controller = $310 BAMA X4 SCT Tuner = $400 Eibach Pro Series Lowering Springs = $230 Labor to install everything = $600 Total cost for everything minus shipping cost = $4830 Total cost with shipping included = $5015 Expensive? Maybe to some, but for the price to performance ratio for a car of this caliber, you can't touch it. Hope you enjoyed me talking about these two products and good luck to all you ecobeast owners!

    Brand New Ecoboost

    The ecoboost is a decent car to begin with, but I wasn't making too much noise when going against GT's and loaded F-150's. Now there is some back bone and a little smoke from the tires coming for everyone.

    bama tune!

    what a difference. this bama tune woke the car up like you wouldn't believe. pulls hard all the way through now instead of falling on its face at 5500rpm. its like a whole new car. a guy I work with has a bmw m3 coupe and I walked all over him with just the tune. its well worth the money. best mod I have ever done

    Good product, but a few issues with 17 ecoboost

    The first thing I will say is that AM really botched getting this item to me on time. The 2017 model DOES NOT HAVE PRELOADED TUNES. AM did make things right in the end but it took 2 weeks, when I had paid for overnight shipping. One all was said and done I am pleased with the tuner. Very good product.

    Great power lots of little issues

    Much more power better throttle response and much more boost, but sometimes the remote start won't work, I still get check engine lights for the downpipe it's tuned to have, and odd notifications like key fob battery low (even on the spare key that's not often used)

    My Bama tuner!

    When I got my tuner for my 2015 eco-boost Stang I couldn't wait to use it. Wow, was it easy to use! It only took minutes to install the new tune! After installing and driving the car for around 60 miles, I thought nothing had changed... then I realized that I seemed to be over revving the car before shifting. It took me a while to get it... the car was reaching redline much quicker now!!! I had to teach myself to shift sooner, but boy does it surprise a lot of people with how much quicker the car is!! There are a lot of impressed,or disappointed (I guess it depends who's side you're looking at it from) v8 owners in the area now! I've owned 30 Mustangs and this one is actually faster than most of the rest of them! That's including my 1965 fastback GT with a K engine, and my 1969 Boss 302! My 2006 Saleen may have stayed with this 4 cyl. though. I also have a 1978 King Cobra (modified of course!) in case I want that v8 sound!

    Does Exactly What They Say It Does!

    A tune for the Ecoboost model is certainly the most gain vs investment you can make. Throttle response is increased, shift points and pressure are re-arranged dramatically, and boost can hold out all the way to redline vs stock (which peters out much lower, losing quite a range of power). Dealing with Bama has been superb, responsive and informative. The install went 100 smoothly, and in the end for my daily driver who likes to punch it needs, I stuck with the PERF mode. RACE mode seemed to have such a jacked up boost even in regular drive mode, whereas PERF is more balanced between regular mode being daily driver and track mode being the go-to for stompage. You can feel more top end power in RACE mode also, and I'm a little closer to a slap it in sport mode real quick and hit it at times guy, so I can't quote you any track or race results here! I also have not tried or even investigated how much the tuner device itself will allow you to tweak things on your own.

    Definitely worth the money

    I bought this for my wife's ecoboost because she wanted a little more oomph in her daily commute. I'm not too sure how the race tune performs as it hasn't seen the track but for daily driving it feels weak (probably only feel the gains in upper rpm range). For daily driving the performance tune is great, the shifting is improved drastically (auto), and you can really feel the power difference. Super simple to use, takes maybe 10-15 minutes start to finish. American Muscle shipped to me quickly as always, I buy all my parts for my 2014 GT from them and will continue to do so. In conclusion, if you're on the fence as to whether or not it's worth it, buy it now you will not regret it.

    Wow! What a difference!

    I purchased and paired this tuner along with an MMR intake and the difference is absolutely incredible. It made the Ecoboost turbo able to compete/beat with the GT. definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a total transformation on the throttle response and the amount of torque that your Mustang outputs.

    Wow!!!

    Since I bought my 2015 Eco boost mustang I have doing research about customized tunes for my car. I kept going back to AM website reading and Bama Performance. I knew what I wanted in my car some went with Bama and I got to say is wow, it was a noticeable difference in the performance of my car. I'm not a speed nut but this is what I was looking for. I'm using the performance V2 tune. I like the free tunes for life too. I'm sure as time goes along I will do more mods just taking my time on deciding not in a hurry. Just a note American Muscle customer service is excellent keeping you updated on your order. AM has my business.

    Spark plugs

    So I got my programmer expecting it to be work great l, but then it blew 3 of my spark plugs up so I asked for a retune. I got that they said they fixed the problem so I put it on and I blew another spark plug it it was giving me power lose before the plug blew. They still haven’t figured it out so I had to data log.

    Bama Performance

    First and foremost got to love American Muscle and Bama's customer service, they kept me up to date on the tune files the whole time and even got it shipped out a day early! As for the tuner its super easy to use and downloading the tune onto my car took only 10 mins. The difference is felt immediately and the new power curve is fantastic. According to the device at 6300RPM the turbo was still producing 24 pounds of boost where before it was dying off around 5000RPM and only making 20 pounds of boost. This is a must do mod for any Mustang owner not just Ecoboost owners!

    Amazing Value for your dollor

    When researching tuners for my mustang there are a lot of options out there. After all my research the Bama tuner which is an SCT tuner that you get free tunes for life from Bama was the one that stood out to me. The Torque and horsepower gains are HUGE for just plugging in a tuner without any mods! The improved driveablilty is also amazing my car shifts 3 times faster than stock and holds boost between gears.     Awesome product supported by awesome people

    I hesitated on purchasing this tuner but I'm really glad I did! I seen a lot of great reviews on The X4 and most of those were spot on! This product is so easy to use and you really notice the difference street the time is installed.
