    The Zex Wet Injected Nitrous System is for '86 to '04 V8's, and it's gonna be something that you should check out. If you are looking for affordable horse power hands from an easy to install complete nitrous kit that gives you a range of 75 to 125 horsepower jets for a stock or mildly modified car. This is designed to work with the stock fuel rails and the stock fuel system, so if you already have a lot of modifications you should really consider a fuel pump upgrade here because you are gonna wanna make sure that you are not gonna be starving your engine of fuel while you spraying.A lot of people say that nitrous offers you the best bang for your buck. If you are looking for a big horsepower increase there are a few different ways you can go with nitrous. This particular kit comes with 75, 100 and 125 jets. It's throttle position sensor activated and it's a wet system.This is a very comprehensive kit that comes with everything that you are gonna need for an easy, clean, and straight forward install that's well done with no corners cut. Gonna call this install a two out of three wrench in the difficulty meter since you do need some basic wiring knowledge to get it done. You can plan on spending about half a day in the garage.Before we really look at the specific kit further, I can start with a basic overview of a wet versus dry nitrous system just so you can make sure that a wet system like this one is gonna be the right choice for you. A wet nitrous system gets its fuel from a connection to the engines fuel system, in this case, it's gonna be the stock fuel rail. The fuel supply is directly fed to the nitrous nozzle. Now a dry nitrous system, on the other hand, injects the enrichment fuel or the additional fuel that you are gonna need to burn the extra oxygen that the nitrous is gonna give you through the engines own fuel injectors, not the nitrous nozzle. So looking at your jetting options right away with these kits since that's one of the main concerns here. This kit is gonna include 75 100 and 125 shot jets so you do a few different options when it comes to the jets but just so you know you can't go any lower than a 75 shot with this kit.Now if you are actually looking for something a little more than a 125 shot there are some other options like either of the nitrous express kits. Those options are gonna give you a 150 shot option. One thing that is different about this kit is that it includes a nitrous management unit. So the wet system connects to the fuel system and controls the amount of both fuel and nitrous through the management unit. Zex does this because they say that it helps to control the fuel atomization and ultimately the power that you are gonna gain. What's really nice about this is that the major components of this kit like the solenoid and the electronic throttle switch are contained in one enclosure which makes for a plug and play install. This means that you won't need a mounting bracket or you won't have to adjust the placement of your switch in order to make it work right since you won't be using a throttle arm activated micro switch. The way that this system works is through active fuel control that will automatically adjust to the nitrous fuel enrichment with bottle pressure. This is gonna help keep things safe when you are running nitrous and it's gonna give a little more engine protection.Now this system activates at wide open throttle, so the system is going to monitor the TPS voltage to make sure the nitrous is going to be introduced at the right time. You will have one wire that clips on to the TPS output voltage wire, and this is gonna read your TPS voltage signal and send it to a programmable electronic switch that then engages and disengages the system based off a predetermined voltage threshold. And when talking about fuel atomization, this system has an injector nozzle with a little bit of a different design. Two features of this nozzle are its fuel transfer tube and the fact that it's self-adjusting in a sense. The fuel transfer tube injects the enrichment fuel directly into the outer edge of the nitrous plume. The nitrous gas shields the fuel away from the tube atomizing it into a finer degree than other designs can. This technology helps with fuel distribution from cylinder to cylinder and ultimately offers a better engine protection. The transfer tube is also self-adjusting and meaning that it self-adjusts to the bottle pressure. The way that it works is that a vacuum is created as the nitrous is sprayed across the tube opening. As the bottle pressure goes up so does the gas speed and the vacuum level. The increase in vacuum pulls more fuel out of the nozzle which then helps to steer clear of going lean. Looking at the individual components of this kit, this is a big kit but it's gonna include everything that you need to get this installed. It's a 10-pound bottle but it will arrive to you emptied just so you guys know. You get your bottle clamps, the nitrous nozzle, your horse assemblies, fuel jets, a wiring harness, all of your hardware and fittings, and your switch cover.Like I said earlier this is system is used with the stock fuel rails and it needs fuel pressure to be at 40 psi. When it comes to price you can expect to play close to the $600 mark for this. A lot of people consider nitrous to be one of the best bang for your buck modifications when it comes to return on investment. How else can you add over 100 horsepower while only spending $600? Now the flip side of that is that it isn't a constant horsepower add but either way if you wanna compare the cost of this kit to your other options out there, this kit is less expensive. The nitrous express kits are a little bit more expensive but they do offer up to 150 shot if you are looking for a more than 125. Install wise this is a time-consuming instal but it's straight forward and not difficult as long as you can do some basic wiring. You will expect to spend about a half a day in the garage. I'm gonna call this a two out of three wrench in the difficulty meter. You are gonna need a handful of different tools and of course, wiring equipment as well so you can wire this up.I am gonna glaze over the details here just to give you guys an idea since we aren't going to show you guys a full instal, but there are step by step instructions that are gonna come with the kit. You will need to decide where to put everything. Mount the nitrous bottle, mount the nitrous delivery line under the car, mount the nitrous management unit, instal the nitrous nozzle, and wire everything up per the instructions. Once that is done you will need to program the activation switch, install the fuel delivery line, check both the fuel and the pressure lines, and check the fuel quality and ignition timing. Like I said it's just a basic overview, but that's what you are looking at instal wise.         safe for high mileage car Would it be safe to use this kit on a 03 mach 1 with 130,000 miles on it. I'd like to go faster but need my car for daily driving cant afford to rebuild a motor.

        is there anyway to convert the kit from throttle engaged to button? maybe instead of tapping the tps have the lead to a button?

        • A Button can be used for activation, but is not advised. We recommend TPS switched or a window switch.

            Zex kit

            Gained 4 mph and lost .5 seconds to the 60ft in the 1/8 mph with the 125 jets. Car pulls much harder if you can keep the tires hooked up in 1st and 2nd.

            Best bang for your buck.

            Pretty straight forward install. I went from running 13.8 with bolt ons and gears to running 12.3 on the 100 shot. Extremely happy with it. I would recommend getting a window switch and nitrous outlet fuel rail adapter.

            Fuel rail fitting is not the correct size for my 2000 gt and the inline fitting is also not the correct size as both are too large, kit did not include and wire to run an arming switch nor a switch. Not satisfied

            Zex Nitrous

            Installed the Zex Nitrous kit on my 2003 Cobra. Overall wasn't too difficult. I did this by myself and wanted it to be perfect so it took most of the day. I probably coulda had it done in half the time if I had help. After install I had a few test runs and tried the 75 and 100 shot. The power was amazing, it felt like I had an extra gear. I would definitely recommend.

            this kit is great easy to install follow the video and you could do it double check ur lines to make sure they are on good just know there is a current shortage of nitrous in the states so it's hard to find places that will fill the bottle with nitrous other then that no complaints

            great for just starting to use nitrous

            i have never installed a nitrous kit before but it was pretty simple. the kit comes with everything you need to do it right. if you can run lines and know the basics on wiring don't be afraid of this. its simple. I do recommend getting a tuner that will delay your timing and make sure your car is running as it should. also if you plan on going crazy spraying all the time I would get the right set of plugs.

            Easy, clean, fantastic installation

            This kit is extremely well done. A major highlight is the flexibility of installation. Everything you need to install the kit is included and then some. It has various fittings, adapters, and hardware to meet any type of fuel supply needs, it also includes all electrical connectors and enough wire to allow different arming switch mounting options. The different nozzles are easy to install making it simple to adjust the size of the shot. The kit includes a tap for threading the nozzle into a metal intake, OR a grommet for installing into plastic intake pipes. This kit is much more complete and much simpler to install than many comparable set ups. The control unit itself is compact, easy to hide or mount, and much cleaner in appearance and installation than other kits. Other kits using mechanical wide open throttle switches are no comparison for the accuracy and ease of the unit that relies on the throttle position sensor signal. The kit did not skimp on braided line, so there is plenty of flexibility with bottle mounting and line routing. My only complaint would be that american muscle did not stress the importance of tuning the vehicle as much as they should. No where in the product description does it mention the need for timing adjustments and proper fuel selection. These are requirements that would taken into consideration by a professional but maybe not by the general public, so please note, even on a modern electronically controlled engine, it is safer to run this kit with a professional tune that delays ignition timing to prevent detonation, it is also necessary to use premium 91 octane or better fuel when running nitrous. Once those requirments are met, this kit offers an easy, clean installation, and exceptional performance. **please note, i could not use the proper language for "timing delay" because it flags the "r" word as inappropriate language.....
