Is there a magnetic deck lid coming for my 2013 Mustang ??

    BobD

    • At the current time, there are no magnetic decklid panels available for the 2013 or 2014 Mustangs.

Has anyone tried this on the 13-14 GT's? Based off what I read, it appears that the only difference between the decklid's for the 2010-2012 is that there are some holes in the trunk for fastners. But for the most part everything is held by 3M, so I don't see why this panel couldn't work with a 14.

    GDUBB

    • Unfortunately, the Magnetic Decklid Blackout Panel (10-12 All) is only designed for all 2010 to 2012 Mustangs. There is an issue with the curves not fitting perfectly together. This may not fit properly on a 13-14 GT.

Washing car with panel on? Can I keep it on the car while washing it?

    nyg1080

    • You should not have any issues keeping it on while washing your car; however I would recommend removing it every now and then to clean around the edges.

      Cheap but decent.

This is an OK product. The area around the faux gas cap is sub par because it will show the color of your car along the edge. It sticks pretty well, and the only issue I had was with the carwash. Mine actually ripped a corner off while going through, but that's my fault for not taking it off.

      Easy enough to apply

You get what you pay for. Hehe. It does the job. It is not that perfect a match to the trunk lid lip but it will do.

Nice look not so good fit

Fit is close but in areas it doesn't fit as well as I would like. The magnet also ripped by the circle while adjusting it. It gives a great look but it's a hassle for sure. Given there aren't many alternatives it is an okay purchase.

Bad Fit, long time to flatten

First, it comes rolled up very tightly. The magnet is not strong enough to simply roll out and stick on car immediately. I had to put it out flat in the sun for 3 days to get it totally flattened. The corners took the longest time. Time to Install = 3 Days Prep, 1 minute install. The fit is not very good. It is not perfect and it gives it a wavy look around the edges and around the fake gas cap the hole is just a smidge too small. I like the color, how the flat black breaks up the shine of the back - gives it some dimension.

      Did not fit at all

I left this under a mattress for 10 hours and it still wanted to curl and not sit flat. I then left it under a table (upside down on a wood floor) for 2 days and the small tips still wouldnt sit flat. I also had an issue with the hole for the fake gas cap being too small and I had to force it in behind the gas cap. After many frustrating attempts to get this thing flat and on correctly it ripped and it's now garbage. If you want a deck lid panel just buy an actual panel.

      Awesome !!

This is the easiest mod instal I have done, 10 mins tops, and looks great. Some advice is to unroll the decklid and let it unfold for at least an hour after arrival, before installing onto vehicle so the corners don’t unstick from the body

      Close

It looks good the hole cut was kind of off, and the corners are a little off, nothing super noticeable if you aren't looking for it

Cheap in every way but not complaining

It achieves the look I wanted. It's not flashy and it doesn't quite fit 'perfectly' but it works and it stayed on through the car wash so it'll stay there.

Looks Decent, but not strong magnetically.

Right now on my car it looks nice, but I do worry of it coming off in a car wash. I have yet to try though. Installing it, the Decklid had a very weak magnetic connection. It came rolled up, and I had to roll it inverse from the way it came to keep the edges of the Decklid from sticking outward from the trunk. After that it stuck fine. I also kind of wish there was a shiny version of the item, but it's not this items fault.

Mine doesn't fit like it should. The die that SpeedForm is using maybe in need of a retool.

Great alternative to more expensive options. Fits good but must make sure to flatten it out first

      Excellent

SpeedForm seems to have a problem with their decklid panels getting cut to fit. I bought their blackout panel with the 3M tape before this one, and it was cut so poorly I had to return it. It looked ridiculous. This one is cut far better, but there are still problems. The top isn't cut perfectly straight (how hard is that?). The bottom isn't cut right either. The left side is cut perfectly, as is the area around the Mustang emblem (this was the problem with the other panel, so I was worried). The right side hangs over the edge about 1/4". All of this is only noticable if you're within 3 feet and staring directly it at an angle. I was a little annoyed with how it was packaged. It was rolled up. In order for it to fit on the car and not look like it was peeling off, I had to set it in the sun to "unroll" on its own and become more malleable. Fitting it correctly involves making sure the panel is snug all around the Mustang emblem. Once this is done, the rest is just a matter of shifting here and there. It's a 5 minute installation. You'll want to have a microfiber towel to wipe off fingerprints, as it's a magnet with no paint or any kind of protection. As a result all fingerprints show instantly. Minor issue, of course. I'm quite satisfied.

      Blackout panel

Not really 8mpressed, gives a great modern look, but the cuts could be a little cleaner, first one I got didn't line up at all, the gas cap hole was a pinch too high, and the bottom edge was not straight, called up AM, and got another one sent right out to me, while the fit was a little better, the hole was in the right place, and the top lined up great on the decklid... once again the bottom cut left alot to be desired

      Great

I liked how it fit, slightly longer then actual deck lid, fit snugly around the fake gas cap so no gaps/spacing, 2 minute install, still on there after couple weeks of adverse weather. Is delivered in a roll, so I let it lay out with random objects around house on top to kinda flatten out. Couple hrs later, with a slight curve on edges, magnet held on well, even with a raised edge, then nice and smooth after 1 day
