Increases Horsepower and Torque. The biggest "bang for the buck" modification that anyone can make to their V6 Mustang is adding a Steeda cold air intake. Steeda's uniquely designed CAI allows your pony to breathe easier which translates into a significant increase of 16 to 20 more horsepower at the rear wheels.

Reusable High Flow Air Filter. The included Steeda dual cone air filter has more surface area than competitors single cone filters to allow your Pony to breath much easier for more power. And best of all the filter is reusable, just clean it, re-oil it, save money and go.

Stainless Steel Heat Shield. Steeda knows that hot air is bad for combustion. That's why they have included a heat shield made from 304 stainless steel to reduce the intake temperature to within 5-10 degrees of the ambient air for more horsepower.

Required Upgrade. Installation of this Cold Air Intake will require the use of a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for operation.

Application. This Steeda Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed for use on the 2005 to 2009 V6 Mustangs equipped with the 4.0L engine. A computer re-tune is required for operation.

Technical note: Installation of this Steeda CAI requires the use of a SCT SF4/X4 PowerFlash or SCT LiveWire tuner to reprogram the cars computer for the Cold Air Intake.

  • This Steeda Cold Air Intake will trigger a check engine light as the vehicle will run lean. We highly recommend only using this intake with the proper tune.

will this work with the concept style hood (ram air)?if not..can you recommend one? I recently purchased a concept style hood(ram air) and am searching for a cai that will clear the inner opening(square) from the ram air intake. ****note the hood is made by Trufiber.

  • The Ram air intake is designed to work with the stock air box, so the K&N FIPK Cold Air Intake (99-04 3.8L & 3.9L V6), or any other aftermarket CAI for that matter, will most likely need modifications of some sort to make it work.

I purchased a tuner first because I read so many forums stating a CAI dowsnt give any performance benefits and everything is gained from the tune. Even with my true duals the tuner felt like something was missing. When I slapped the Steeda CAI on along with a 91 Bama tune it really brings the 4.0L to life. Talk about WOT! The Steeda air filter is well made monster and a breeeze to install. I definetly recommend it!

    Velocity stack or nothing

I'm actually pretty happy on this product. One of the few intakes that genuinely offers a velocity stack in their kits. The quality is top notch and the welds are very similar to one of my other vehicles Intakes from a fabrication shop that utilizes the same setup with the velocity stack. With the tune and everything all said and done, the car felt noticeably better while the exhaust note changed for the better (running pacesetter LTH with FRPP true duals and pypes highflow ceramic cats) The power curve feels a lot better especially in the top end and the throttle response is crazy good. Probably helps I'm running 10mm wires with the screamin' demon coil pack and plugs gaped to .065. Super easy install, and Always run the velocity stack no matter if you are F.I or NA

    Get one

My CNL cold air intake was getting old and i couldn't find a new cone in stock so i upgraded to this. It fits well and uses two prongs, and the hood to stay in place. The bolt location near the fender does not get used so i placed the bolt into the spot to keep it for later. Overall I like the steeda and it compares nicely to the CNL other than it does not come with a new tube and you use your stock rubber one. I also like how the steed comes with rubber to gasket off your cold air intake which is nice since I don't want water to seep in through mine which was possible with the CNL. Overall get this, it's steeda quality for sure. I finished my changes with a steeda throttle body spacer.

    what a diffetence

Switched out the bbk chrome CAI with no tune required for this one with a tune required. What a change in response time, and you can just hear it gulping down the air. A must have mod in my book.

    You can definitely feel it

Had to install the CAI twice because the tuner had quite a few problems. First time took about a half hour. Second, less than 10 minutes once I knew what I was doing. Performance has improved. There's virtually no lag time between hitting the accelerator and actually accelerating, unlike without the tune / CAI. Haven't noticed any kind of change in the sound tho, not that it makes a difference.

    No Sweat

Installed this, with the help of my 12 year old son, in about 15 minutes. Included instructions were spot on, couldn't have been much simpler. Flashed the computer and we were off. Power was noticeably increased, mileage change was negligible (maybe i was going to heavy on the pedal... maybe). Didn't hear the suction sound until i added a bigger throttle body. Awesome bolt on improvement.

Great product. Instantly noticed increase in power. There is also a great sound of air suction when you get on it.

Just installed this today, and along with the SCT X3 power flash, I have to say it really added some much needed power to my V6. Install was simple. 10 minutes tops. Great product.
