Review & Install Video
Hey, what's going on, guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview of the Anderson Composites Rocker Panel Splitter in Carbon Fiber, fitting all 2015 and newer Mustangs. So in this video, I'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect when picking up the Rocker Panel Splitter Kit from Anderson Composites, as well as the materials and construction, given the nature of its carbon fiber makeup. I'll even walk you through the installation, which I'll tell you upfront will get a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. It will require some drilling and riveting, which some people may not be totally comfortable with. So let's jump right into it.
The Anderson Composite Rocker Panel Splitter in a carbon fiber finish is gonna be for all 2015 and newer Mustang owners out there looking to pick up a very unique show car quality part for the side profile of their S550, while also grabbing a very nice carbon fiber, high-gloss finish at the same time. These rocker panel splitters, sold as a set of two from Anderson Composites, offer a very aggressive styling to the lower profile of the side of your S550.
Now, these will replace your factory rocker panels using the same bolt-on locations, while giving it a very unique aftermarket appearance with a very high-gloss carbon fiber weave finish. Very beneficial to the guys out there running a show car build or the guys out there running a daily driver and just wanna stand out on the street. Now, of course, like I said before, you can expect a 100% real carbon fiber construction throughout the entire product here and a very, very high-gloss finish on top to really accentuate that hand-laid weave that we all expect to see when looking for a real carbon fiber piece.
Now, price-wise, if you are interested in picking up this set of two rocker panel splitters from Anderson Composite, expect to be spending just north of 650 bucks. A pretty pricey tag, I will say, but this one will cater to the guys out there looking to go to the lengths for a true carbon fiber part to top off their S550 build. Otherwise, you are getting a very high-quality material, a lightweight part, very durable, so there is a lot of bang for your buck. The price tag is to be expected this high when shopping for a true carbon part for the S550s.
Switching gears over to the installation portion of the video, like I said in the beginning, this one will be a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, will require a drill and a rivet gun to get the job done. In order to remove your factory rocker panel, you have to drill out your factory rivets and then, of course, the rivet gun to replace them. Now, with that said, rivets will not be included in the kit. You'll have to pick those up separately to get this job done, so let's go ahead and jump right into it.
So from here, you wanna remove your rocker panel and the connecting piece from the body of your S550 by removing the eight clips holding them on. You'll also wanna remove the connecting piece from the rocker panel by drilling out those factory rivets. Once the factory rivets are drilled out and they are disconnected, take that connecting piece and rivet that one on using your rivet gun, of course, to your carbon fiber rocker panel splitters. Once you get those riveted back on together, you can reconnect them to the body of your S550 the same way you took them off.
Overall, like I said, this one gets the two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, not because it's a terribly hard job to do, but just because some people may not be comfortable with a drill and a rivet gun. So with those extra steps, it will bump it up to a two out of three. It shouldn't take you more than an hour or two at the maximum, depending on how comfortable you are with that process.
Just to wrap things up, guys, if you're the owner of a 2015 or newer Mustang and you're looking for a way to pick up a sleek exterior styling for the side profile of your S550 while getting a show car quality appearance, you might wanna check out the Anderson Composites Rocker Panel Splitters in the carbon fiber finish available right here at americanmuscle.com.
