Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, we're here with Chris Thompson from Airaid. He stopped by the shop to tell us a little more about these great Airaid products. We're very familiar with Airaid; we use them on our project cars with great success. Chris, what can you tell us about Airaid that makes it so unique? "Everything we do is digitally designed. It's engineered to fit, it's engineered to work, it's engineered to work without any special tuning. Now, tuning is much, much better. You guys offer a lot of great choices in aftermarket tuning. It'll only enhance the performance of the Mustang. We design our intakes so there's no special gluing required, there's no cutting or hacking of the engine required. If somebody decided to put a stock intake back on, they don't have to go back to Ford to buy another part to put the piece back on. Every intake we do is digitally designed. It's all about the design of the airflow and the linear charge to the throttle body. We use the rotational molding not so much for the heat soaking, but for the shape of the tube we can come up with. By using the rotational molding, it allows us to really give the right shape and form to make sure the product works well." We're very excited—we've got our 2013 Mustang here, probably not even 10 miles on this thing yet, and we already have an Airaid intake on it. Tell us a little more about that. "This is awesome. We're really excited to be here today. This is the first Airaid intake on a 2013 Mustang. We're really excited to be here with you guys. As you can see it fits. We know for sure it fits. We believe we have a hit. We'll do a little bit more testing on it before we release it to the public, but that should happen anytime now." Now, you were telling me earlier, you're working with some legends in the Mustang world. "Well, we're excited about working with Parnelli Jones and his son PJ. Parnelli's been instrumental in helping us come along with the Boss 302 intakes we're trying to develop. Nobody knows the heritage of the Boss 302 better than Parnelli Jones. We worked with PJ on the side by side utility vehicles (Razors, Rhinos, and TRX's). We also sponsored him in the past on his endeavors in the American Le Mans Series, which he ran last year." Chris, thank you so much for educating us on your great Airaid products. And as always, you can find those great Airaid products right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

The Red Spacer
I read alot of reviews on this product and they ranged from being a great paper weight to the best thing since ice cream. So I decided to buy it because I have their cold air intake on my pony. Well it works as advertised but I don’t hear the whistle everyone was talking about. At any rate I can tell a bit of faster get up and go and it seems to run smoother at idle. I like it and think it is a great product.Helpful (2)

I installed this throttle body knowing it doesn’t produce extra HP but I sure do love the sound. The. With installing the cold air intake and tune there is a big difference with throttle response and Hp now. Awesome addition for good priceHelpful (0)

Fun little mod
The whistle is fun but I can see why some people wouldn't like it. As for "improved gas mileage" I haven't noticed anything. I really just like the audile upgrade and how it looks under the hood. The instructions are great and it's definitely a 1 out of 3 wrenches.Helpful (0)

Warning 08 owners
If you have the cool plenum cover with the horse, you will have to cut it to make it fit back. I can feel a little more pep and I heard the whistle once.Helpful (2)

It looks good under my hood. And it makes it whistle. Almost sounds like a blow off valve. Love this.Helpful (3)

Does its job well
This spacer is worth the money, it does provide Great power gains in the lower RPM'S, and it looks great under the hood. Easy install. But remember you should look to upgrade your grip because this thing adds a lot of torque!Helpful (5)

Definitely can hear it, but it's pretty quiet. Feel a little difference in the low end torque.Helpful (3)

Very easy to install. Adds for quicker throttle response. Seems to add small amount of power. Sounds cool.Helpful (3)
Will this Airaid spacer work with a BBK after market cold air intake??
If my way of thinking is correct, throttle body spacers don't have an effect of which intake you have because you can probably just loosen one of the hoses and telescope the whole intake if you need to. And throttle body spacers aren't that big really.
I already have this but have not put it on. Will it work if I already put a 62mm throttle body on?
No, this throttle body spacer is only designed to work with the factory throttle body. You wouldn't be able to use this with an aftermarket throttle body.
Would you recommend getting the Throttle Body Spacer or the Ford Performance 62mm Throttle Body? Or will both work?
The Throttle body spacer and Throttle body will not work together due to the larger size of the aftermarket throttle body. The Ford Performance will provide larger gains than the Throttle body spacer, but at a considerable cost increase.
Can u use this with the bbk throttle body
This is designed to fit 2005 to 2009 4.6L V8 GT Mustangs with a factory throttle body only.
Will this work with a CDC shaker package?
Unfortunately this will not work with a throttle body spacer.
This spacer will only work with the factory throttle body, and is not compatible with any aftermarket throttle bodies.
It may fit OK, but not worth your time and money man, your already fit for forced air, this little bit of extra vortex will do little to nothing for you, you really want bang for your buck on your Shelby man Go put 410 Ford Racing Gears, use Royal Purple to re fill, get a set of 305 50 R 18 on your SVT Rims, Use the Mickey Thompson Street Drag Radials on the rear, will give you now a 12+ inch rear foot print, all in all you will have spend about $600 - $700, and look out and hang on, your going to stick like a bugger, and 1/.4 mile time will drop big !!, is like adding 50 or 60 horse, did it to my 05 Modified GT, best thing by far, iuf you have not considered this you can actually Utitilize the big HP you may be missing with not hooking up good, just easy in the rain, keep your traction control on, and no heavy corner punching, it minnor TC is a saver, just so you know Another adding more cold air under your hood, with a lower Ram Air tube,I have Shaker, thery make a kit for Supercharged Shelby as well now, they look Mean, and really Inprove the kick and also sealing good around the air Intake plenium is another big boost for the car, keep the Hot air out and away from the Cold Air in, let it breath . cold , clean , fresh air, Enjoy Mustang Brother Perkins
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer can be installed with the part number facing the upward direction. Attached below is the installation guide per Airaid: https://www.airaid.com/instructions/AIR-450-610_inst.pdf
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer is designed and sized specifically for the OEM throttle body and will not work with aftermarket, larger than stock throttle bodies.
The 2010 GT has the same 4.6L motor that the 2005-2009's have, this will be able to fit in the 2010 GT's.
Unfortunately this will not fit the 2009 Bullitt Mustang.
Unfortunately, we do not offer a Throttle Body Spacer for a larger Throttle Body at this time. We are constantly getting in new products, so keep checking back to the site!
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer will work with an Airaid cold air intake, however, please note that it will not work if you have an upgraded throttle body.
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer (05-09 GT) will be able to be paired up with the GMS Twin 62mm Throttle Body (05-10 GT) item #65010 as they both have the same measurements for the screw points.
Although the 2005-2010 mustangs shared the same motor, Airaid has only test fitted the Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer (05-09 GT) for the 2005-2009 year mustangs not confirming fitment for 2010.
