Please throw this hood on a scale and let us know how much it weighs. I would like to know what the weight savings is. My stock hood shakes at times. How stiff is this hood compared to a stock GT hood. Do you offer a hood insulation kit? Does it have to be sealed with a clear lacquer?

        • This hood would weigh about 35lbs. Unfortunately, we do not carry a hood insulation kit and we would recommend a clear coat on this hood to help protect it from the sun and prevent fading.

What is the weight difference (reduction) between this hood and a stock GT hood?

        • This hood would weigh about 10 lbs less than the stock. This hood weighs about 35 lbs and the stock hood weighs about 45 lbs.

Will this hood allow clearance to run a Whipple 4.0 Supercharger without the need for K-Frame spacers? Car is a 2011 GT500.

        • While we have not tried this specific application, I do believe that this hood will clear that supercharger, as it has cleared all the ones that we have tried.

I can see how this would help keep the front cooler, if moving but what about extracting underhood heat as I have MAC shorty headers and would like to vent off some heat when stuck at a light. Would it be possible to add vents and heat shield and hood pins as a package or would the rear be made too weak if done? I know it may be a strange question to you but I would appreciate your response, Thanks! 1 answer

            Carbon hood

Got it from a buddy. Thing looks clean only thing is I would recommend to have a clear coat sprayed and maybe ceramic coat it since the sun can really damage it depending on where you live if there is a lot of sun. Fitment was spot on! I’m sure once I install it I’ll be able to tell the different in weight.
