???? would this be ideal for running 24lb injectors and a mild cam or would the 190 be enough?

    • Gasoline is generally about 1.63lbs/Liter. Naturally aspirated gasoline engines usually consume .50-.55 lbs/hp/h at maximum load, meaning that if an engine produces 100 HP, it will consume 50-55 lbs of gasoline for ever hour of operation at 100 HP. This is known as brake specific fuel consumption, or BSFC. Knowing these three things(LPH of pump, weight of fuel, and BSFC of the engine), we can calculate the required amount of fuel, or the approximate maximum amount a given system will deliver. 190LPH * 1.63lbs/L = ~310PPH. 310PPH / .5(BSFC) = 620 max HP. 255 LPH pump will give about 830 max HP Your injectors, however, will "only" support 384 HP (24PPH * 8cylinders = 192 PPH / .5 = 384 max HP). Note that these are all approximate maximums, and should not be met or exceeded. Allow yourself at least a 10% surplus.

Stock Replacement I was wondering if this pump was a stock replacement for a 97 Cobra? Ford can't give me info on the stock pump and they do not carry it anymore. My car engine is stock so looking for stock replacement.

      Idle to start much better

I always had issues starting from the line but not anymore! I still have '96 Cobra Mustang with a stock motor/115k miles; felt it was good to finally change it up. Just make sure your tank is pretty empty before you start!!

Excellent replacement for my 96 cobra

This is a great replacement for my OEM pump. The factory plug was a direct fit and the wiring included was not necessary for my car. My only complaint was that the push down rings for the filter were not included in my package, so I had to reuse the stock ring to keep the pickup filter in place. WARNING: when removing your fuel pump assembly from the tank, take care not to destroy your hold down ring, that piece is not replaceable!

Perfect replacement for the 95 Cobra R

This is a direct replacement not just for the 96-97 Cobras but also for the 95 Cobra R. This is pretty much impossible to find listed anywhere but AM supported helped me and we determined by the photos that this should work...and it is the exact part. From what I could gather the 96's were well under way in design and Ford used the pump they were readying for that model a year earlier for the 95 R. Perfect fit, works well. Great support!
