Planning on installing on an otherwise stock 96 GT, with the stock manifolds, and im well aware I’m going to throw a check engine light. Can this setup be ran without tuning, with no adverse effects?

Would I be able to put this on my 95 GT?

      • The Pypes The Beast Off-Road Exhaust is specifically designed for 96-98 Mustang.

What kind of headers do I need to have when I install this system? can I use my stock headers? I have a 1996 4.6L 2v V8. I want to buy new headers anyway, so am wondering what headers will be best for this exhaust system? thanks

      • Hi, With this Pypes The Beast Off-Road Exhaust kit you can either use you'r factory manifolds or a set of Shorty Headers.

      • You'll want to get cobra exhaust parts. The GT has round exhaust ports whereas the cobra has larger oval shaped ports.

Quality Exhaust for a good price.

This Stainless Steel Exhaust is Quality built. I looks good, sounds good, and was mostly easy to install. My only problem with the kit is that the clamps on the cat back system were cheap u-bolt style clamps instead of the nice strap style used on the x-pipe. It would have also been nice if the clams were stainless like the exhaust. Other then that it’s a great set up for a Mustang at a really good price.

          Best sounding exhaust ever

I paired this exhaust with the Pypes Offroad X pipe and the sound this combo makes is unbelievable. It has zero to no drone, roars thru gear shifts and turns heads. I would totally suggest this combo to anyone who would like to enjoy their machines the real manly way.

          Pypes violator

Great sound! Loud when your in it but calms down when cruising. Sound is projected out the back very well with no drone in the car.

          Excellent product. No regrets.

I had gotten nothing but compliments on this system, from total strangers coming up to talk about it, to friends who won't shut up about it :) A close lady friend came to visit and when I took her out she exclaimed, "your car sounds so angry...) :D even a police officer complimented me on it as he asked me to keep it down through town. I cannot overstate how sick this system sounds. It sounds nasty, angry, very aggressive, yet has just a strong, pleasant, raspy burble if you don't romp on it. Sounds a little thin when just revving, but under load it sounds much more full. Nothing but compliments. Even from old people :) I was very disappointed with the hanger setup, so I cut the hangers off of my factory tail pipes and had the shop weld them onto the new. Other than that I was pleased with the fit and finish. Noticeable power gains, my father even commented on it, pulls noticeably stronger after 3K RPMs. Overall I'm extremely pleased and would buy this over and over again, over even some magnaflow systems I've heard. It blows even some of the higher dollar exhaust systems out of the water.

High quality exhaust system with easy install!

Great exhaust system for the money. It only took about three hours to remove my old system and install this one in my garage. Everything fit great with no problems. The exhaust note is very aggressive though. I was pulled over by the police three days after I installed the system because it was to loud. I ordered and installed a pair of chambered mufflers to comply with Indiana law. It still has a great sound and I haven't been pulled over since. Great buy if you want that drag car sound but use different mufflers if your putting this on your daily driver.

          Not a problem

The good, the sound is fantastic. Real aggressive and loud when I push the pedal, but still doesn't grind my nerves after an hour of cruising. The instal after I FINALLY got the annoying old exhaust off(1 week) was really quick, about 3 hours. By the way take off the rear tires and jack the rear of the car up to the sky to get the pipes over the axles, super easy that way. The bad news. I'm still trying to get it to hang high enough so I don't bottom out the exhaust on curbs and even dips in the road. Mostly my fault since my mustang is lowered a couple inches. I'm confident that I can loosen the joints and stick a jack under the "X" to lift it and re tighten the exhaust.

The perfect mix of sound and power (97 GT Auto)

This system has a aggressive and deep, yet raspy tone to it. It's almost a mix between SLP Loudmouth 1's and a Dynomax Ultraflow muffler. It's EXTREMELY loud when you get on it, but can be quiet under normal driving, and during idle. The X-pipe also gives it a great tone as well. Offroad is the way to go. The X-pipe was easy to install, and clears the transmission (manual and automatic) easily. The catback, on the other hand, goes together easily, but doesn't quite fit easily on the car. The driver's side rubs the rear tire, and the hangars are lose on the tips, and need adjust every now and then to keep from rubbing and staying in place. Overall, this system is a great alternative to the chambered (Flowmaster) sound in terms of mufflers, and is in the middle (sound and volume) between mufflers and straight-through resonators. I highly recommend this system. Just be forewarned that the catback can be a pain, with fitment and lining up correctly on the car, along with staying in place.

          96 gt

i got this 3 weeks ago. my buddy and i put it on. its a lil pain. and the tail pipe on the driver side was rubbing my tire. so we rigged it so its pulled away. it sounds like a beast now. pulls better up top. im sure if i tuned it, it would run a lil better.
