  • This Borla Touring Axle-Back Exhaust will not work with any 11'-12' Mustang. This exhaust is only intended for use on a 13'-14' GT or 2013 Boss 302.

Will these work on 11-12?

  • Unfortunately, this Borla axle back system would not work with a 11-12 mustang. However, you can check the links below for a list of the different axle back systems that we have for that year range. Added the subdued roar I was looking for

After listening to all of the utube videos on Mustang axle back exhaust systems, it was difficult to really tell the difference from one system to the other. But I know I wanted an exhaust note that; 1) Sounded classy 2) Let people know I had a 420HP V8 under the hood 3) Still allowed for me to have a simple conversation with the top down. 4) Easy to install Well, the Borla Touring Axle-Back system met all 4 criteria. Louder than stock, but very civilized. Nice rumble at idle. No mistaking the sound of a potent V8. But yet easy to live with in day to day driving. Installation was easy. But you do need car ramps to get under the vehicle. Overall, an awesome sounding system that Ford should have put on the vehicle in the first place.

    Perfect fit

I'm very satisfied with the Borla Touring Exhaust. The sound is a lot deeper and slightly louder than stock and, as advertized no drone. downshifts produce a very cool sound. Took me most of a day to install but I like to go slow. I found it easier to release the rear single hanger using exhaust hanger pliers then let the muffler hang down and unbolt the double front hangers from the frame. Since the new Borla muffler is shorter its real easy to put the double hanger on the muffler than bolt the hanger back to the frame.

    sounds great!

Installation took a bit longer than I read, and I had a lift. The factory mufflers were more difficult to remove than installing the borla. The sound is exactly what I want, not too loud and much better than factory. It took a few adjustments to get them straight and centered at the back.

Review from Borla Touring Axle-Back Exhaust (13-14 GT)

    The drone is gone

I cannot say enough about how great these Borla exhaust components are. I had previously installed a pypes x bomb and there was a horrendous drone at 2000 RPM in every gear. 6th gear was unusable due to the cabin shaking drone unless I was going over 70. I removed the Pypes and put in the touring muffler s and the over the axle pipes. I hooked up to an existing upgraded Boss 302 Quad exhaust and like magic. The drone is gone. The sound is still great outside the car but the drone and the sensation of driving in a helicopter is gone. This is the route that I should have taken the first time but I have learned my lesson. This system would be a great buy at twice the price. The only thing that delayed my own install was getting the Pypes system off. Once that was off, this system went in with no trouble.

no rasp just v-8 mellow tone

install took about one hour(I have a lift) with very little adjustment to center tips. Fills rear notch very well. These Borlas have a real old school sound but, are quiet until you gas it. Then, the money you paid seems justified. No rasp or exotic note.

Review from Borla Touring Axle-Back Exhaust (13-14 GT)

Great sound for us 60 somethings!

I love the sound, especially when accelerating. Just a bit louder than stock. Very quiet at steady speeds. I like the rumble when downshifting also. One thing I did not care for - the muffler end, the end that you see, with the nice tips is ugly. So, I painted it (not the tips) heat paint flat black and now the back of the Mustang looks great. You don't notice the ugly anymore! You really notice the polished tips though! Install took about 2 hours. I took my time and made sure everything aligned perfectly. The suggestion to remove the upstream pipe is a good one. I would also recommend it.

    What a difference!!!!

Great sound. I took off magna flow due to drone. Car has long tube headers and X-pipe. What a difference switching to these mufflers. I can roll out of neighbor hood without anyone getting upset now. Car sounds sweet and when you open the throttle you get that deep growl that sounds too sweet.

    Holy Cow!

These mufflers are the Borla touring model for my wife's Mustang GT. They are perfect for that car and my wife. I have the Borla ATAK mufflers on my Shelby which my wife thinks are WAY over the top. NOT! They are smoking hot ... and the touring its great for her.

Borla touring is perfect for a daily driver

Borla touring mufflers sounds great when the engine starts up and at idle. They don't wake up my neighbors and the chrome tips fit the rear valence very well. They are plenty loud when I want to hear the engine and they are quiet when I need them to be. For my install, i also needed an angle grinder...the stock mufflers had sheet metal straps to the pipe clamps that has to be cut before i could reuse the factory pipe clamps for the Borla install. easy install.

    Great sound

For me I didn't want something obnoxiously loud and went with these. Glad I did nice deep tone at cruise but really comes alive when you step on it! Of course you get Borla quality as well so you know it's going to last as well!

    Perfect Rumble and Roar

Exactly the sound I was looking for. Deep Low rumble at start up. Perfect Rumble on acceleration. I listened to many sound clips online. Heard different exhausts on the road. I always went back to the Borla Touring. Plenty of sound to get other driver's attention, without being obnoxious. Large exhaust tips, fill in the cutout in the rear of the car, perfectly.

    Excellent aftermarket axleback

The only thing that kept me from giving this muffler 5* is that at 2000 rpm (about 72mph) there is a uncomfortable moan that gets worse if you're going uphill at this rpm. Using the sport shift points solves this as 72mph = about 2300rpm but I still wish the moan wasn't right at the speed that I freeway cruise.
