    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out MGP’s front and rear caliper covers, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. So here’s the deal, an aftermarket big brake kit is not exactly cheap, and painting your factory calipers can sometimes not give you the results you’re looking for. These covers from MGP are a great way to cover up those ugly factory calipers, while adding a little customization and helping to reduce the brake dust on your wheels. The covers are offered in a red or a black powder coat and with a number of different logo options. We have a couple here on the table including the red GT logo, the complete black Cobra setup, the red running Pony logo, and the black 5.0 logo, just to name a few. Taking a closer look at the calipers you’ll first notice a very durable T6 aluminum construction, along with that powder coated red or black finish. In addition we have the officially licensed logo right in the center, along with some simulated hardware for a more realistic look. The installation really isn’t all that bad and should take you about an hour from start to finish. Of course you will need to remove your wheels just to gain access to the calipers so make sure you have your jack handy. In addition you’re going to want to make sure 3/8” wrench just to tighten up the hardware on the covers themselves, but other than that everything is completely straightforward. So if you’re tired of looking at those rusty factory calipers and you don’t feel like forking out big dough for an aftermarket big brake kit, you’ll want to look into MGP’s caliper covers available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Custom Styling. A set of Red Mustang Caliper Covers are a great way to set off your new rims. These Mustang Caliper Covers from MGP have a big brake race ready look that will turn heads.

Reduces Brake Dust. These Caliper Covers not only look fantastic, but they act as a dust shield to keep your rims looking cleaner longer.

Quality Construction. MGP makes their Caliper covers from light weight 6061-T6 Aerospace Aluminum that is formed to the caliper for a perfect fit. The covers are then powder coated for a long lasting high gloss look. The installation brackets are TIG welded in place for extra security.

Easy No Mess Install. Painting your calipers can be messy and time consuming, but the MGP Caliper Covers simply install over your stock calipers and are held in place with the supplied clip and bolt. For a no muss, no fuss install.

Application. Designed to fit over factory brakes, this set of four MGP caliper covers include all the required hardware needed for installation on a 2005 to 2009 V6 or GT Mustang.

Fits V6 and GT's with factory brake calipers only, does not fit Shelby GT500.

Technical Note. A minimum of 1/8 of an inch clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment. We have found that the MGP caliper covers will require the use of a small 1/4" spacer to provide proper clearance with our aftermarket Bullitt wheels, see drop down option above

Looks amazing! but one minor problem

These calipers add a really nice touch to my car, but there's a noise that occurs every time I drive. I believe it is my rims coming into contact to the calipers. The good news though is that the sound is subtle and only really occurs when you are driving slow and can be easily blocked out by music.

      Nice buy!

The product is great! For those who like appearance dress ups like myself then this is worth the money. Great quality, only issue is somewhat of a fitment problem. Had to bend the metal clamps and sometimes it rubs against my rotor but other than that it's a great purchase.

      sqeeky, pain to get adjusted

install was very simply and straight forward, Problem arises when you drive the car. Rear brackets squeak like crazy. I took rear wheels off 10 times adjusting each time. Finally had to grind bracket down out outer side and finally after a day of taking wheels of and on and adjusting and grinding. finally got rear to stop squeaking. a real pain in the Butt. they do look good but not worth the price

      MGP brake caliber covers

In my opinion this product is Sub-standard at best , two hundred bucks down the drain then another fifty bucks down the drain for the wheel spacers at that point I just gave up on replacing the stock studs in the hub because of them being too short for the recommended spacer, not going to install the covers….. to bad they would have looked nice but way too much hassle. First the clips to hold the covers in place are a joke, very flimsy with a (it a kind of fits thing going on) first you FITTLE with the flimsy clips to kind of fit and fasten the covers on the calipers then install the wheel back on the hub and immediately find out that there is not enough clearance between the rim and the covers, you read the fine print on the instructions and OH….OH…OH guess what, you need (wheeeeeeel spacers, YA…) HUM….. Well then you buy the wheel spacers witch for the price of the cover kit should have been included with the covers…. Only to find out that the spacer they recommend is not self-centering and can and will through the wheel out of balance, and YA you need to remove the stock hub studs and install new longer studs our will risk stripping the lug nuts out. OH and the covers LOOK to be die stamped aluminum not CNC milled as suggested the only CNC work I can possibly see is the engraving on the covers. Spare yourself the mess and hassle and buy caliper paint then clean and paint the calipers……

      Perfect for my Mustang

Its a great product i have a 07 gt and its great with the blue and red contrast it really makes the car stand out some work will need to be done with the rear back clips because of the gap between the clips and the cover its self

Solid Addition, IF Proper Wheels Are Bought

Like others have said, be exceedingly careful when installing with stock wheels, my 2006 4.0 required spacers. However that was short lived, for I right away got my hands on some CS Black with Machine Accent wheels, which provided all the clearance needed. Even though the new wheels are only 18x9s, these caliper covers fit perfectly and offered plenty of space even after removing the spacers. That being said, if you have your heart set on these caliper covers, it's best to have aftermarket wheels that offer more clearance than your stock variants.

      just needed the rear cover

When I ordered the covers I knew that I would have to buy the whole shooting match. Needing just the rear covers for my ROUSH. So far not able to find a buyer interested in just the front covers, leaves me paying a lot of money for just the rears. So bang for the buck is low.

Look ok, but fit and Installation are less than ideal for the money

Basically for $200 you get semi custom fit pieces of prepainted aluminum with clips. You need to bend the covers and file the clips to make sure they don't rub on the rotors or interfere with the caliper operation. Installation problems with the rears was bad and fronts was average. Once on the look decent, but not great since they don't cover the entire cover. For $200 on an American made product, I would expect better.

      Great Product

Very nice product! I have had the caliper covers installed for about a year and not a single issue. No rattles etc. These really look nice. Note that a medium thread locker was used during installation.

      Appearance Great, Fit Ok.

Now that I have these on, and have finally adjusted them enough times that they don't squeal at me anymore (the clips were rubbing on the rotors, in fact, they still do when under loading in a turn) I really like the covers. They look really nice and add that color behind the wheels that I really needed. I hesitated on these for a long time but I am happy I purchased them. Be prepared to spend some time on the fit of the clips though, especially on the rear covers.

      A Good Product

I bought these covers for my '07 Gt after watching the expensive caliper paint flake off. I thought these things might not be rugged enough to stay on the caliper and might fall off at 100 MPH and cause all kinds of trouble. I was pleased to see that although they are very light weight the mounting hardware really locks the covers in place. The nuts have lock washers attached to them but I added loctite as an extra precaution. The red covers look great behind my wheels and are a great upgrade.

      Makes the car

I really do like them. Really makes the car stand out. Easy to install, but there is very little clearance room. I found that if you press inward on the cover to keep it as tight to the inside of the calliper as you can it really helps.

Excellent quality! Well made and very easy to install. Really gives the wheel a finished look. It takes longer to take the wheel off and on then to install the cover. Very happy with the finished result.

      Great Customer Service

These covers do a nice job of calling subtle attention to your wheels. I didn't want the word Mustang plastered everywhere you look on my car, so I bought the ones with the MGP logo. When my wheels scratched the first set, we all found out you need the disk spacers for the OE 17" Bullitt wheels on an '06 V6 Pony. But AM took care of me the right way and I'm a happy customer.

      look fairly good

these look just o.k. made of thin cheap looking metal if oyu look very close. should have been made to wrap around the caliper a little and would have had a better, more quality look. but still o.k.

      pretty cheezy

I bought these and when I opened the box I sent them right back. They are really fake looking. Painted on bolts, etc. Take a close look a the pictures before you buy. I ended up buying them based on the reviews but the reviews where not right.
