      Review & Installation Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out MGP’s front and rear caliper covers, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. So here’s the deal, an aftermarket big brake kit is not exactly cheap, and painting your factory calipers can sometimes not give you the results you’re looking for. These covers from MGP are a great way to cover up those ugly factory calipers, while adding a little customization and helping to reduce the brake dust on your wheels. The covers are offered in a red or a black powder coat and with a number of different logo options. We have a couple here on the table including the red GT logo, the complete black Cobra setup, the red running Pony logo, and the black 5.0 logo, just to name a few. Taking a closer look at the calipers you’ll first notice a very durable T6 aluminum construction, along with that powder coated red or black finish. In addition we have the officially licensed logo right in the center, along with some simulated hardware for a more realistic look. The installation really isn’t all that bad and should take you about an hour from start to finish. Of course you will need to remove your wheels just to gain access to the calipers so make sure you have your jack handy. In addition you’re going to want to make sure 3/8” wrench just to tighten up the hardware on the covers themselves, but other than that everything is completely straightforward. So if you’re tired of looking at those rusty factory calipers and you don’t feel like forking out big dough for an aftermarket big brake kit, you’ll want to look into MGP’s caliper covers available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

        Beware!!!

We purchases these caliper covers for our '06 GT. They do NOT fit snugly enough over the calipers so they rub constantly on the wheel. This, of course, causes the thin, cheap metal to crimp and it scrapes the paint off of the covers. DO NOT waste your money on these caliper covers!!!!

        looks good.

These were kind a pain to install. Had problems with the clip rubbing the top of rotor. A few modifications and got the fit correct.

The Clips Rub agaist the Rotors. Wow Price went up

Had to Grind the clips down a lot to get them not to rub against the rotors making a awful sound. With a convertible it's really annoying. Paid $200.00 and I thought that was high. $250.00 price is stupid. Don't put you wheels on until you really spin the rotors for noise. Even after the rotors heat up and you go around bends noise will happen. Have access to a grinder. Put down it takes a afternoon because of all the times on and off with the wheels.

How much space is needed for the cover? I asked this question before but it disappeared. I have AM bullet wheels and would like to use these covers but need to know how much space they take between the caliper and the wheel when installed. Thanks

      • Since you have our Bullitt Wheels, you will want to also purchase the 1/4" spacer to provide proper clearance when using these caliper covers.

Do I need spacers? I have a 2008 GT convertible w 18 inch wheels do I need spacers and which size? Also- my husband is not mechanically inclined . Would you advise I go to the dealership to install or a tire shop or body shop?

      • As I just learned the hard way, it really depends on the type of wheel on your vehicle. The mfg. indicates that you need 1/8" clearance between the caliper cover and inside of your wheel. I put the covers on a short while ago and then swapped 18 inch Saleen style rims for 18 inch Bullitt style rims without checking the clearance. As soon as I hit the road, I could hear the loud scrapping sound of the wheels against the caliper covers. The fix is an easy install of 5/16" spacers that slip right over wheel studs between the axle and wheel. If H can change a tire, he can install these spacers, otherwise most any tire, repair or body shop will do the job.

      • From my understanding, wheel spacers should not be needed when upgrading to a 18x9 wheel.

      Will It Fit My Mustang

      • Bullitt - 08, 09
      • GT - 05, 06, 07, 08, 09
      • V6 - 05, 06, 07, 08, 09

Fits GT's with factory brake calipers only, does not fit Shelby GT500.

Technical Note. A minimum of 1/8 of an inch clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment. We have found that the MGP caliper covers will require the use of a small 1/4" spacer to provide proper clearance with our aftermarket Bullitt wheels, see drop down option above
