Description
High-Performance Turbo Shield. The GEN-3 T3 Onyx Series Turbo Shield/Blanket is engineered to manage and contain the extreme heat generated by turbochargers, enhancing performance and safety. It securely wraps around the turbocharger housing to reduce underhood temperatures and protect surrounding components. This shield is essential for turbocharged engines where effective heat control is critical.
Construction and Appearance. The shield features a silicone-coated Onyx Black outer shell that resists fraying and protects seams, enhancing durability. Internally, there is a thick silica insulation layer with low thermal conductivity, supported by a composite inner layer of stainless steel, glass fiber, and silicone for improved thermal resistance and seam strength. The innermost layer consists of stainless steel fabric that withstands high operating temperatures without degrading, providing a robust and technical finish.
Installation. Installation is straightforward and typically completed without drilling, using the included stainless steel wire for secure attachment. Moderate mechanical aptitude is advised to ensure proper fitment and effective heat containment.
