    Is this chin spoiler paintable?

    Gizmo169

    • The Cervini's Type 3 Chin Spoiler comes in a textured finish, so in order to paint this, it would need to be cleaned, sanded smooth, primed and painted.

I have a GT500 with some dings in the chin spoiler. Will this go on in place of the factory spoiler?

    beachsnake

    • This will not work with the GT500 Mustang as the front fascia is different and will not work with this chin spoiler.

      Chin spoiler

While there are many accessories available for Mustangs I add only those that I believe should have been on the car when it came out of Motor City. This chin spoiler is one. There are several chin spoilers available from different manufacturers but the type 3 accents the front of the car rather than overpowers it. I have added several other accessories to my 2008 GT thanks to A.M. but am careful to not transform my car into something that it is not. I have won several trophies at local car shows and am proud of how my car looks now. Thank you A.M. Great product and easy install.

      Cervini's Type 3 Chin Spoiler - Textured

I really like the chin spoiler, it was an easy install although some of the mounting holes were not perfect in alignment but was no issue

      Cool Splitter

I reused all of my hardware and it worked like a charm. I didn't have a cordless drill to drill the 3 required self-tapping screws so instead I reinforced it with doublesided automotive tape along the flat part of the splitter that makes contact with the car's front valence panel. Make sure that if you go this route to properly clean and prep the part of the spoiler that you will be taping with some adhesive promoter. Its been on my car for 2 weeks and the splitter is still on strong with no signs of it coming off.

The Chin Spoiler the S-197 Should have come with

This Splitter looks awesome pretty aggressive and compliments the flow lines of the 2005-2009 Mustang GT (non-California Special) front bumper. On my Bullitt package-Mustang GT it proves my point even more clearer; it doesn't take away from the Bullitt-ness of my Mustang while adding an aggresive, track-ready-like appearance to the already sleeper demeanor of my Ford Racing Package Vehicle. The only complaint I have is that the holes don't match 100; screws used to bolt on the splitter had to manipulated sideways to finally latch on the thread of the splash guard from underneath. After careful manipulation, using one hand to screw in the bolt, and the other hand to hold splash guard down, I was able to finally get the screw through the threads. Also I recommend reinforcing the splitter with 3M Double Sided Tape, to add more reinforcement; in order to attach 3M Double Sided Tape, don't forget to use some 3M Primer 94 on the splitter, or else your 3M tape won't stick, for long, to the splitter. I'm very happy with the front-end of my vehicle. Take that California Special Front Bumper!

      Cervini Splitter Type 3 GT

I went the extra mile with the fasteners using 10/32 stainless screws with fender style washers and self locking nuts. I also used a shaped aluminum L angle for reinforcement. This splitter actually does work for down force. I noticed a small difference at 60 mph and a great difference once the triple digits are reached. It obviously looks good as well.
