Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with, and I'm checking out this Clutch Pedal Extension for 1994 to 2015 manual Mustangs. Comfort while driving is essential, and I'm sure that many of us have tried to drive a manual Mustang in an uncomfortable position because we have to move the seat so far up to get a good feel for the engagement and disengagement of the clutch. This pedal extension moves the clutch pedal up one and a half inch closer to the driver to give you a more comfortable driving position without altering the performance of your clutch. You can see right away that the pedal extension is low key and hardly detectable, and you can put your pedal cover right over it. It's made from a high impact ABS plastic, and it's designed and manufactured right here in the USA. The ABS plastic design means that it's lightweight, and it has a superior durability so it'll last a lifetime, whether your car is a track car or a daily driver. Another plus here is the very simple installation of this pedal extension. The pedal extension comes complete with the two stainless steel screws that you'll need, and getting this installed should take you about 15 minutes. So if you're looking for a fast and easy way to improve your comfort while driving, then you should check out this clutch pedal extension for your '94 to 2015 manual transmission Mustang available here at

Improves Ergonomics. Improve the driving ergonomics of your manual Mustang with a Clutch Pedal Extension for a more comfortable seating position. This Pedal Extension moves the clutch pedal 40mm (1.5") closer to driver so that you don't have to sit so far forward to fully engage/disengage your Mustangs clutch. This extension will not affect your clutch's performance; it is only designed to improve driver comfort.

Made in the USA. Proudly manufactured in the USA from automotive grade acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic material for its light-weight and superior durability, this Clutch Pedal Extension will last a lifetime.

Application. This Clutch Pedal Extension is designed to fit all 1994 to 2018 Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, SVT Cobra, BOSS, Shelby GT500 and EcoBoost models.

Please Note. A clutch pedal pad is not included with the Clutch Pedal Extension. You will use your stock or an aftermarket clutch pedal pad.

maybe you could help I got my pedal cover in place on the pedal extension but it doesn't seem to want to slip over my 2003 mach1 clutch pedal it seems to small tried it by just slipping it on by itself with the same result maybe you could tell me what I am doing wrong thanks

  • You can trying pulling the pieces of the extension to the side in over it slip the extension over the pedal. Below is a link to a detailed installation guide that will show you exactly how to install this pedal extension.

Will this work with the Bullitt pedal setup? I would like to keep the same look of the bullitt pedals

  • If you are referring to the Bullitt style pedal pads that fit all Mustangs, the answer is yes. I have GT500 style pedal pads which are similiar and it fit fine. The trick is to heat up the pad in hot water and slide it on from the bottom. The alternate would be to put the pad on the extension first and "clam shell" it on.

Will this work with my Roush billet pedal covers. They are installed by drilling through the metal pedal and placing screw through the holes and securing on back with a threaded nut. It is the older style Roush covers for my 2007 Roush Mustang.

  • The Clutch Pedal Extension would not be compatible with a bolt on style pedal cover like you have, as this would require drilling through the new extension, which will most likely come into contact with the bolts holding the two halves together, and will also compromise the integrity of the extension.

I have a 2013 Boss 302 and I cant seam to get the pedal cover out. It feels like is glued in, i don't want to force it to much and break something.

  • Removing the stock pedal cover to install the Clutch Pedal Extension, should come off without ease. If it is giving you troubles, someone may have glued it on for some reason. If you did not want to destroy the stock cover, I would recommend taking it to a shop to ensure it comes off in tact.

I'm 6'-1" tall. Anyone out there with a similar height use the clutch pedal extension?

  • I am just a few hairs short of 6 feet tall, and these do work pretty well. If you like to sit with the seat in the further position, so your arms are not cramped, but your legs don't necessarily reach to the floor, I would highly recommend the Clutch Pedal Extension.

Will the stock GT500 pedal cover fit on the extension?

  • The instructions say it fits all 1994 and up Mustangs with manual transmission. My Mustang has the rubber and stainless steel pedal covers, and by heating the cover with hot water I was able to put it on. There is also alternate instructions that have you put the pedal cover on first, then clam shell the extension on to the clutch pedal.

    Fifty bucks well spent!!

I have an 06 Mustang, and the only downside to the car, is the clutch pedal has to be pushed through the floorboard. Then I found this... first of all, fifty dollars is waaaay over priced for what it is, it even came in a Wal-Mart, Great Value sandwich baggie. For all the money spent, at least a name brand would be nice... but, it's almost a necessity. It's like a different car now. I really do like it, and I'll continue to rag on the price, and brag up the product. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this pedal adapter. Fifty bucks well spent!

    Easy Install

At 5'5" tall I have always needed to have my seat moved up (closer than I like) in order to fully engage the clutch pedel. With the extender I was able to move my seat back to a more comfortable location. The install was pretty easy. I used the "clam shell" method that has been posted in other reviews as well as the video on this part. A little pricey but worth it to be able to move further away from the steering wheel and (god forbid) the airbag. Good solid product. Can't even tell it's there.

Got this extension pedal for my 99 Mustang because I was tired of driving so close to the steering wheel due to the clutch being so deep. BEST $50 I'VE EVER SPENT. My knees are no longer hitting my steering wheel and I'm able to drive comfortable at last!

    Clutch pedal extension

Although I am satisfied with the extension, the problem I had with it, maybe it's a manufacturing defect, when you put the screws in it doesn't bring the two halves tightly together. It seems the two stainless screws are to long and when the are tightened, the two injection molded pcs do not pull together tight. There is a little loose gap between them. I had to go out and buy new screws that were shorter and now they are good. Someone at Musclecar should have a QC person checking on things like this. Al Penna

    Fits '15 perfectly

Just installed this on my '15 GT - this is probably one of the best 'mods' I've added to the car. I didn't expect the difference to be so dramatic - and so much better! Highly recommended if you feel like you're stretching out more than you'd like for the clutch.

    Not bad

Bought this because my wife is 5 ft, and while it does make it easier in her to shift, I think it is a little over priced. Between 20 and 30 would be right about perfect but an easy install and makes a difference

    What a difference!!

I was having trouble with my clutch since I bought the car, I'm 6 feet tall and I was way to close to the steering wheel, but now with this extension I can drive and change gears smoothly. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Would recommend this product to any one.

    Best investment

I am 5-11 and I did not like how close I had to sit to the steering wheel due to the clutch being so far down. I seen this pedal and said I had to give it a try. I like sitting back while driving. I installed it in less than five minutes. It turned out to be the best investment I made so far. I am able to adjust where I sit and not be limited by my clutch. I am not short and I highly recommend this pedal for anyone who likes to sit further back and cruise.

    pedal extension

most happy overpriced item ive ever paid for. this thing makes a big difference if u want more space between u n the steering wheel. it was a breeze to put it on. make sure u dip the plastic pedal in hot water to go on easier on the extension. only wish i had longer arms like an ape so i could push the seat even further from the steering wheel. lol.

    Big Improvement

I'm 5' 9'' and I managed pretty well with the factory clutch, but when I installed a performance clutch and pressure plate there were problems. The clutch needed to be depressed to the floor for a clean shift, especially under full power. It was very difficult to find a seating position where I wasn't trying to depress the pedal with the tips of my toes. I installed this extension and now I can easily press the clutch to the floor and I shift with much more confidence and confidence plays a large part in making a good shift. This extension made a much bigger improvement than I thought possible.

    I love this!

I am very tiny, I'm only 5' tall, and had to get pretty close to the steering wheel in order to push the clutch all the way to the floor. I bought this clutch pedal extension, and it made a huge difference. I don't have to sit as close to the steering wheel. I only had my Mustang a few day's when I started looking for something to help me out. I found this and ordered it right it away. It was very easy to install, my roommate did it for me.

perfect solution for my short a**

Great product, very simple design but does the job very well. I used to have the dreaded 2-3 miss-shift but now I hit it smooth every time. It does seem to be a bit expensive for 2 pieces of lightweight plastic and a couple of screws but when I hit that 2-3 shift, I don't so much care anymore.

Works great and was easy to install.

I am 5 ft. 8 in. tall and was having trouble getting comfortable in my new 2015 Mustang. When I put the seat back where I wanted it I could reach the brake and gas pedal just fine. The clutch however was an issue for me. I would have to "tip toe" the clutch to depress it all the way to the floor. I installed the clutch pedal extension in just a few minutes and it made a huge difference. I wasn't sure just a few inches would really help but it does. Now I can sit comfortably and reach the clutch too.

This, funny as it may sound is the single best mod I have made. My rather short 30" inseam with my 5'10" frame the Mustang never "fit" right. This solved all issues. So if you feel too close to the wheel and the clutch too far away when depressed, this is your answer.
