    Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com. And I’m checking out these GT500 Style Pedal Covers for our automatic and manual ’05 to ’09 Mustangs. The stock pedal covers in your S197 Mustang were certainly not designed with style in mind. Their ugly, boring, and chances are have probably seen better days. That’s where these covers really shine, literally. These covers give your interior an instant boost of class and style. These pedals were designed to the original factory specifications using the same high quality materials found in the newer GT500 Mustangs. Depending on your car, you’ll either receive the gas, brake, and dead pedal for you automatic guys. And for you manual cars your going to receive the gas, brake, clutch, and dead pedal. Now the install is very straight forward and should only take you fifteen to thirty minutes. Now a little install tip before you get started: it’s a great idea to let your brake and clutch pedal sit in hot or boiling water for a few minutes just to make the rubber a little more pliable. Now your first step is to remove your rubber factory pedal covers and get them out of the way. Install your brake and clutch pedal first, and then move over to your accelerator. You’ll find that very easy thanks to the 3m tape located on the back of this piece. Once your done with that, go ahead and move over to your dead pedal where it bolts on to the factory location. Install couldn’t be easier. There is no question that these covers will be a dramatic improvement to your interior for a price that’s hard to beat. So if you want to enjoy a little bit of that awesome GT500 attitude on your ride, be sure to check out these pedal covers today.

Race Inspired Styling. Now you can ditch those ugly stock rubber pedal covers and replace them with a set of GT500 styled pedals from AmericanMuscle for a race inspired custom interior.

OEM Quality. Made from high quality OEM materials to the original factory specifications these, Mustang Pedal Covers look and feel just like the ones that were originally only available in the Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

Installation. This set of four (4) GT500 Style Pedal Covers can be easily and quickly installed. The Brake and Clutch Pedal Covers features a simple slip-on installation, the Accelerator Cover is adhered via two way automotive bonding tape and the included Dead Pedal mounts easily via a factory bolt.

Application. This set of GT500 Style Pedals Covers is designed to fit 2005 to 2014 Mustangs with a manual transmission, including the V6, GT, Bullitt and BOSS 302 models. Will not fit the Premium 2010-2014 Mustangs.

Will these pedals fit the 2017 v-6 manual?

My 2010 GT with the premium package has aluminum pedal covers similar to these (which are wearing out, and need to be replaced). Do you know if these are the same pedal covers as the ones optional on the GT premiums for 2010?

    • While these would be similar to the OEM pedal covers for the GT Premiums, these would not be the same pedal covers that are factory on the GT premium package.

I've had this item for a little over a year. The rubber part that was hold on the metal top of the clutch has worn off and has allowed the metal cover to call. Do you sell these items independently or have any suggestions on what I can do for this item?

    • We do not currently sell the metal rubber part on the top of the clutch separately. Please reach out directly to our customer service department as we would be glad to look into this with you. Feel free to reach us by calling 1-877-887-1105 or by chatting in.

Will these pedal covers work the the clutch pedal extension?

    • The GT500 Style Pedal Covers is meant to replace the cover you have now. Because the stock cover goes over the pedal extension the size should be the same which will fit.

The stock brake and clutch pedals are too small for me. Are these somewhat larger. I realize they have to be some larger to slip over stock pedals. 4 answers

Pain to install, but worth it

These were a pain in the you-know-what to install but they look awesome and absolutely would recommend. Rated 4 stars because gas pedal comes with single piece of low-quality 3M sticky tape and almost wouldn't stay stuck on. When. putting on the clutch and gas pedal I would recommend to place them in boiling water, makes the rubber more pliable and easier to install. Once you get everything installed they look awesome and are definitely worth it.

      Nice

Pedals look great. Little difficult stretching the rubber on brake/clutch pedals but worked it out. Did not install the dead pedal yet. Requires a bit of refab to fit professionally.

gas pedal tapes on over old one. Two sided tape provided of low quality. dead pedal doesn't fit well.

      pedal covers

Instructions with pedals are not complete. Dead pedal was a bit more work to get it done right. Boil the clutch and brake separately, take your time. Look good after. Adhesive on gas pedal is useless, I used an thicker 3M tape to get a permanent install.

      Looks great

The double sided tape included with the gas pedal didn’t stick on the first try even after cleaning the pedal surface with denatured alcohol. Pedals where bit of a pain to put on but a short screw driver and some silicone tire spray to lube them I finally pried them on. They look great once installed

      Boil

For everyone saying there impossible to install ,your suppose to boil the the brake and clutch to soften up the rubber then put them on easy. Take it from experience good luck.

      Not Happy

Item was very hard to install. The rubber on one of the pedals ripped when trying to install. Dry poor design for the gas pedal which keeps falling off because of improper fit. Overall don’t waste your money and time.

      Difficult Install but Worth It

These pedals look great after install, but there are some issues with install. The only way you can get the clutch and brake pedal on is to use a flathead stubby screwdriver and wedge them on, which takes patience and determination. The gas pedal has a very thin adhesive strip on the back which is basically useless. I tried to use it but it was not thick enough to even make contact. Thankfully I had some much thicker 3M action-cam adhesive pads which worked great and will hold that pedal on strongly. The adhesive that comes attached to the pedal is not going to keep that pedal attached for long if you are determined to use it. You can buy a pack of 3M action-cam adhesive pads from amazon or ebay. Also, the clutch foot rest is useless because the install is challenging and you risk damaging your mustang to install it. All in all, if you have money to burn and want to have the best looking Mustang pedals then go for it!

      Near Impossible to install

Look great but the brake and cluth pedal DO NOT just simply "slide right on". I have tried boiling them multiple times they refuse to go on and yes I took the original covers off, its to the point where the rubber is falling apart and it looks like I wasted 70 bucks.

      Very pleased

My 2006 GT is twelve years old so this is not a criticism of Ford manufacturing, but the original pedals where literally coming apart in pieces. The petals I purchased from American Muscle are very good looking and look like they will hold up for at least another decade.

      frustrated

The video says it's easy to install, just boil it or heat it in water. Crazy! This product is very difficult to install and I destroyed both brake and clutch cover trying. Very frustrated. Tried boiling and tried soap, eventually tore the rubber apart trying to get it on the pedals. What a waste of money!

      Pretty cool - sort of......

The accelerator, clutch and brake pads are easy and straightforward to install. They look fantastic. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for the acceleration pedal pad to fall off, though, because its just stuck on with tape. The "foot rest" is a train wreck. Installation instructions are vague and attempting to install this piece risks breakage of the foot well trim panel not to mention that there is wiring that could be cut accidently. I wish Ford had just incorporated a vinyl/rubber pad in the floor carpeting in this area.

Good looking pedal covers, bit tricky going on, boil hot water, soak the rubber pedals, go on sooo much easier, extra tape needed for gas pedal. Dead pedal bit tricky to install. But look good when done..

      Pedal covers

The pedal covers look great. It took a little bit of time to install even after letting them sit in the sun for 15 minutes. Although the tight fit ensures they will not move. They look great!

      Good Looking Once Installed

The clutch and brake pedals took some time to get installed. I soaked them in boiling water for 10 minutes and that helped a lot. Dead man cover was simple, just had to cut a 2" x 2" section of carpet out for the carpet to lay down flat. Not impressed with the gas pedal install design. The two sided tape that comes with it peeled right off. I had to double up on the tape to get it to work.

      Nice Look

Waited for a 80’ degree day. Set pedal covers in sun for a hour. Old ones came off with a little muscle. New ones starting at top of pedal an help with a 4” flat head screw driver worked right on. 10 minutes. Awesome new look. Glad I purchased them.
