    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com. And I’m checking out these GT500 Style Pedal Covers for our automatic and manual ’05 to ’09 Mustangs. The stock pedal covers in your S197 Mustang were certainly not designed with style in mind. Their ugly, boring, and chances are have probably seen better days. That’s where these covers really shine, literally. These covers give your interior an instant boost of class and style. These pedals were designed to the original factory specifications using the same high quality materials found in the newer GT500 Mustangs. Depending on your car, you’ll either receive the gas, brake, and dead pedal for you automatic guys. And for you manual cars your going to receive the gas, brake, clutch, and dead pedal. Now the install is very straight forward and should only take you fifteen to thirty minutes. Now a little install tip before you get started: it’s a great idea to let your brake and clutch pedal sit in hot or boiling water for a few minutes just to make the rubber a little more pliable. Now your first step is to remove your rubber factory pedal covers and get them out of the way. Install your brake and clutch pedal first, and then move over to your accelerator. You’ll find that very easy thanks to the 3m tape located on the back of this piece. Once your done with that, go ahead and move over to your dead pedal where it bolts on to the factory location. Install couldn’t be easier. There is no question that these covers will be a dramatic improvement to your interior for a price that’s hard to beat. So if you want to enjoy a little bit of that awesome GT500 attitude on your ride, be sure to check out these pedal covers today.

Race Inspired Styling. Now you can ditch those ugly stock rubber pedal covers and replace them with a set of GT500 styled pedals from AmericanMuscle for a race inspired custom interior.

OEM Quality. Made from high quality OEM materials to the original factory specifications these, Mustang Pedal Covers look and feel just like the ones that were originally only available in the Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

Installation. This set of four (4) GT500 Style Pedal Covers can be easily and quickly installed. The Brake and Clutch Pedal Covers features a simple slip-on installation, the Accelerator Cover is adhered via two way automotive bonding tape and the included Dead Pedal mounts easily via a factory bolt.

Application. This set of GT500 Style Pedals Covers is designed to fit 2005 to 2014 Mustangs with a manual transmission, including the V6, GT, Bullitt and BOSS 302 models. Will not fit the Premium 2010-2014 Mustangs.

    Ask a Question

Will these pedal covers work the the clutch pedal extension?

    MikeR

    • The GT500 Style Pedal Covers is meant to replace the cover you have now. Because the stock cover goes over the pedal extension the size should be the same which will fit.

What is the warranty on these pedal covers? My clutch cover is already coming apart on the top. Lanny V.

    LannyV

    • The GT500 Style Pedal Cover's do not have a manufactures warranty, however, American Muscle offers an independent warranty for 30 days after purchase. If you can please give us a call, at your earliest convenience, we would be more than happy to amend the situation.

How do you install the dead pedal? I received the kit yesterday, got the three pedals installed - easy and look great. The dead pedal, have no idea how to install. No instructions in the box. Thanks.

    • Check around You Tube for the video, sorry I didn't save the link. Just pull the door sill panel and then the side quarter panel and the bolt is easy to see.

Dead pedal installation It's not clear to me where the dead pedal gets attached. Will it be obvious when I remove that interior panel near the clutch pedal? What type/size bolt?

    bmicmcd

    • When you pull out the kick panel and pull the carpet back, you will see the bolt. I believe it was a 13 mm bolt. Just loosen it enough to slide the dead pedal's "U" shaped flange over it, then tighten the bolt.

The stock brake and clutch pedals are too small for me. Are these somewhat larger. I realize they have to be some larger to slip over stock pedals.

    bulldog7847

    • No they are not. The dimensions are exactly the same as stock...the appearance is different.

      Nice upgrade

Good looking pedal covers, bit tricky going on, boil hot water, soak the rubber pedals, go on sooo much easier, extra tape needed for gas pedal. Dead pedal bit tricky to install. But look good when done..

      Pedal covers

The pedal covers look great. It took a little bit of time to install even after letting them sit in the sun for 15 minutes. Although the tight fit ensures they will not move. They look great!

      Good Looking Once Installed

The clutch and brake pedals took some time to get installed. I soaked them in boiling water for 10 minutes and that helped a lot. Dead man cover was simple, just had to cut a 2" x 2" section of carpet out for the carpet to lay down flat. Not impressed with the gas pedal install design. The two sided tape that comes with it peeled right off. I had to double up on the tape to get it to work.

      Nice Look

Waited for a 80’ degree day. Set pedal covers in sun for a hour. Old ones came off with a little muscle. New ones starting at top of pedal an help with a 4” flat head screw driver worked right on. 10 minutes. Awesome new look. Glad I purchased them.

      Just Wanted the Dead Pedal

All I wanted/needed was the matching Dead-Pedal to go with my OEM GT500 pedals (see my photo... the match-up is perfect). So I actually purchased the automatic option kit to save money (A.M. Item 11050) and down-graded this kit to 4-stars because the Dead-Pedal wasnt offered as a single item. But looks great!

      Mustang Heaven

Got these to add a little bling to the interior of my '09 Stang. Installation of the gas pedal cover was straightforward, all went well. Installation of the brake and clutch pedal covers was a little more involved and time consuming....until I remembered to apply a little Vaseline to the metal brake and clutch pedals to lube the edges up then both covers went on MUCH easier using a pick to work the rubber around the pedal edges. Installed the deadpedal the next day (ran out of daylight). The looks speak for themselves......these pedal covers should have been OEM on all S197 Mustangs.

      Sharp prdals

The double-sided tape for the new gas pedal was an adequate to adhere to the stock pedal. Using a paint can opener made the installation of the clutch and brake pedals a lot easier.

      Pedals look great!!

I love these pedals!! The soaking them in water does not work at all!! I used a heat gun heat the rubber used a towel worked great!!! Some reviews were saying they didn’t put in the dead pedal, no bolt. The bolt is there and fits predict!! It’s on side under the carpet little work but it’s worth it! I used rubbing alcohol and cleaned the gas pedal before adding the pedal. Well worth it!!

      GT500 Style Pedal Covers

Very nice pedals upgrade from stock. Definitely gives your interior a better look. It doesn't matter how long you boil them in water they are still a pain to get on. However I found a little hack but you have to be gentle or the rubber will tear. Take an old house key and just stick it under once the bottom part of the pedal is on and just pry it on with the key!

      Garbage

I installed these about 6 months ago and my car is not a daily driver. The clutch pedal metal portion has already separated from the rubber and not sure how to fix it. If it was a daily driver it would've broken long ago. I'm not impressed with this quality. I should've gone to Ford for a factory replacement. If you want to throw away some money for pedals that look great for less than 6 months, here you go. Also good luck installing the foot rest pedal. I do a ton of work on my car and that pedal was impossible. I do not recommend.
