    Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com. And I’m checking out these GT500 Style Pedal Covers for our automatic and manual ’05 to ’09 Mustangs. The stock pedal covers in your S197 Mustang were certainly not designed with style in mind. Their ugly, boring, and chances are have probably seen better days. That’s where these covers really shine, literally. These covers give your interior an instant boost of class and style. These pedals were designed to the original factory specifications using the same high quality materials found in the newer GT500 Mustangs. Depending on your car, you’ll either receive the gas, brake, and dead pedal for you automatic guys. And for you manual cars your going to receive the gas, brake, clutch, and dead pedal. Now the install is very straight forward and should only take you fifteen to thirty minutes. Now a little install tip before you get started: it’s a great idea to let your brake and clutch pedal sit in hot or boiling water for a few minutes just to make the rubber a little more pliable. Now your first step is to remove your rubber factory pedal covers and get them out of the way. Install your brake and clutch pedal first, and then move over to your accelerator. You’ll find that very easy thanks to the 3m tape located on the back of this piece. Once your done with that, go ahead and move over to your dead pedal where it bolts on to the factory location. Install couldn’t be easier. There is no question that these covers will be a dramatic improvement to your interior for a price that’s hard to beat. So if you want to enjoy a little bit of that awesome GT500 attitude on your ride, be sure to check out these pedal covers today.

Race Inspired Styling. Now you can ditch those ugly stock rubber pedal covers and replace them with a set of GT500 styled pedals from AmericanMuscle for a race inspired custom interior.

OEM Quality. Made from high quality OEM materials to the original factory specifications these Mustang Pedal Covers look and feel just like the ones that were originally only available in the Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

Installation. This set of three (3) GT500 Style Pedal Covers can be easily and quickly installed. The Brake Pedal Cover features a simple slip-on installation, the Accelerator Cover is adhered via two way automotive bonding tape and the included Dead Pedal mounts easily via a factory bolt.

Application. These GT500 Style Pedal Covers is designed to fit the 2005 to 2014 Mustangs with an automatic transmission, including the V6 and GT models. Will not fit the Premium 2010-2014 Mustangs.

How do you install the dead pedal?

    • Hello, on the GT500 Style Pedal Covers - Automatic (05-14 GT, V6) the dead pedal installs with #M tape, on the following link you can find the installation guide: http://1.cdn.lib.americanmuscle.com/files/gt500-dead-pedal-cover-install.pdf

Do these fit the 2016 mustang? It looks like the same pedals i had in my 07 gt?

    • The GT500 Style Pedal Covers - Automatic (05-14 GT, V6) will not fit directly on a 2016 Mustang as the pedals have a slightly different shape. I recommend purchasing the Dead Pedal Cover - Brushed (15-17 All) item #389290 (www.americanmuscle.com/dead-pedal-cover-brushed-2015.html).

Look nice, but kind of a pain

These look cool but they are kind of a pain. The brake pedal definitely needs to be soaked in hot water for a few minutes to install, and even then it’s a bit tough. But I got it on there. The adhesive on the gas pedal was definitely junk, peeled right off the gas pedal like scotch tape. I had some Gorilla tape and used that, so hoping it holds. Seems kind of flimsy to have a gas pedal held on with tape, but hopefully it stays on okay. And then as there are no instructions for the dead pedal, I looked them up online and it involves removing some plastic parts of the car....ugh. Didn’t feel like going through all that (I’m afraid I’m going to crack something) so I’m just going to buy the wider, flatter chrome dead pedal cover with the Mustang logo that just has to be installed on top of the carpeting.

      Pedal power!

Look great, adds style very cool. The Excelerator and brake pedal took a little time but fit fine. Had a big problem installing the dead pedal that took a lot of time and some work.

      Perfect!

Very nice looking. Made a huge difference in look on the inside. Install was very easy. I soaked the brake pedal in very hot water. Went on with no problems. I did have to add an extra piece of 3m tape over the existing piece for the gas pedal. The footrest dead pedal took the longest, but very comfortable when driving. All and all. Great product!

      Billet pedal covers

The pedal covers themselves feel relly good and were easy to install. Besides the gas pedal, might need better adhesive for installation . After installing they look great makes interior look sharp. Would make instructions for those out there who havent installed a dead pedal before.

      Gas pedal needs more work

Pedals look fine, however gas pedal does not stick good, Things to try. Heat pedal with heat gun/hair dryer, Clean pedal with lacquer thinner. Use thicker tape.

      Great addition

This is a very easy item to install. It looks like a factory setup and right at homs with the other billet pedals. This is one item that's worth the effort!

Soaked the break pedal in boiling water for about 5 minutes so that the rubber would be loose. Easy install and made the interior in my Mustang look even better. On to the next project. . .

      GT500 Pedals

Great upgrade from the standard pedals. Easy to install. The brake pedal takes some muscle to get in place. With a little hot water and a small screw driver it went on.

      Looks nice but why tape?

Brake pedal snaps on tight, awesome. The gas pedal cover uses double sided tape? I cleaned the living smut out of the gas pedal with the alcohol wipe provided. Yes, only one was provided. Luckily I had 5 packets on hand to ensure a good clean surface for max adheision. My pinky touched the tape and as i pulled away the tape completely came off the pedal cover. Looks like the double sided tape is to thin, you need to double up. Even then it came of the pedal the dame day.

      Just Wanted the Dead Pedal

Since I already own a GT500KR with standard GT500 pedals, I'd been wanting a matching dead-pedal for the left foot-rest area of the drivers floor. This pedal did the trick! But A.M. should definately sell the dead-pedal as a seperate item for customers in my situation. The photo I've posted shows how well it matches up against the OEM pedals... pretty darn close! To reduce cost, I purchased the kit for the automatic transmission, and just used the dead-pedal (which is identical in either kit). This option also gives me a replacement accelerator pedal if I ever need it, but the brake pedal is useless to me. Installation was easy, but it also required cutting a slit in the carpet, to allow the carpeting to slide over/around the installed pedal, and lay properly back into its original position. I'm giving this item a less-than-perfect 4-stars for no detailed instructions, and for not offering this dead-pedal as a single item.

      Love the way they look.

The only reason for the 4 stars is because the gas pedal uses double sided tape. I used a hair drier to heat the gas pedal and the billet pedal and get them in there while still hot. Press down hard for a couple of minutes to make it stick good. But overall it is about the best looking product for our mustangs.

      Great match for originals

I needed the brake cover and the dead pedal for my 2007 Shelby GT500 conversion to an automatic trans. Product worked great and the covers match perfectly.
