      Street Performance. This Comp Cams Xtreme Energy cam is an excellent upgrade from stock for improved street performance. With increased responsiveness and a step up duration, a greater performance can be felt from a Xtreme Energy Camshaft. Perfect for bolt on modifications to make good overall power without sacrificing any daily driveability.

      Good Idle. Give your 5.0 Pony a good sounding idle that is louder than stock, but is not overbearing or obnoxious.

      Application. This Comp Cams XE266HR Camshaft is designed for use in Mass Air equipped 1986-1995 5.0L V8 Mustangs with mild modifications such as 3.27 to 3.73 rear gears, a larger thottle body and a mass air flow upgrade.

      Will this cam work in my 94 mustang stock e7 heads with 1.7 roller rockers ? Do i have to upgrade to a high stall torque converter

      • The Comp Cams Stage 2 Xtreme Energy XE266HR Camshaft will be compatible with your setup. A high stall torque converter is not required, but will drastically improve performance.

      What all else would be needed for install with this cam as far as valve springs guides push rods timing chain gears lifters and such?

      • When installing the Comp Cams Stage 2 Xtreme Energy XE266HR Camshaft you will need new valve springs, and retainers. The push rods and lifters, timing chain and guide plates are not required, however it is a good idea to replace these as insurance while everything is apart.

      • Yes, this would be a computer controlled camshaft.

      My car is mostly stock with some gears and minor bolt ons. I heard that cams with a lift and duration as high as this will not work in a stock motor. Is that true or can this can be installed in a motor with stock heads and pistons?

      • This can be installed on a stock motor but these cams do require some additional parts to work properly on your Mustang. These cams will require steeper gears (3.27 to 3.73), throttle body, and an upgraded mass airflow. Without those modifications added to your Mustang, these cams would not be ideal for your Mustang.

GT40p heads, 600cfm Holley carb and AOD Trans. Would the XE 266HR, XE274HR or E303 be a better choice. Not racing the truck, Just a driveable street cruiser with a little power.
