Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and I have with me DBA’s T2 street series slotted rotors fitting all 94 and newer Mustangs. Disk Brake Australia or DBA, as you might have guessed is an Australian based company that specializes in manufacturing a wide variety of brake rotors, a lot of which are of the high performance variety. At first glance, you can see the T2 rotors feature this unique curved slotted design, which is a little different to traditional slotted rotors which typically feature a series of straight lines. DBA says this is going to help the pad bite down initially, and reduce vibration, making for stronger, smoother braking. They also say it’s going to help even out pad wear, and reduce glazing on the rotor surface. Besides the functional benefits of that slotted design, you really can’t deny that these rotors are going to look awesome behind a set of open faced wheels, like our Saleens here. There’s just something about a set of drilled or slotted rotors, that adds that look of performance to the car. Rounding out the appearance side of things, the T2’s have also been coated with this matte black here, just to reduce any corrosion or rust. The T2’s also feature DBA’s patented kangaroo cooling system, this refers to the ventilation present between the two friction surfaces, basically if you were to remove the front of the rotor here, you’d see a number of diamond shaped pillars, as opposed to the traditional straight vein or straight line design. This design adds about 60% more surface area to dissipate heat better, greatly reducing brake fade in high heat applications, such as repetitive high speed stops typically found on a race track. Even though DBA refers to the T2’s as their street series, I personally wouldn’t hesitate to throw them on a street car that does see a significant amount of track time, for the reasons I just mentioned. Even though these rotors will increase your braking performance, ultimately investing in a quality pad and fluid will be your best bet in reducing brake fade while on the track. Installing a new set of brake rotors on your late model Mustang is probably one of those things that sound a lot harder than it actually is, the reality is, once you have the wheels off, removing the old rotors and putting the new ones on is just a couple of bolts, so when it’s all said and done, just leave yourself a couple of hours to get everything bolted up. Oftentimes people focus on the performance side of things without giving much thought to their braking capabilities which can get you into trouble real quick. That’s why improving areas of your Mustangs braking, like checking out a set of these rotors from DBA, will not only increase your safety, but they’ll also look good behind the wheels while doing so, so be sure to check out the entire DBA lineup available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Improves Braking. DBA uses a bi-symmetrical curved slotted pattern on their T2 Street Series Rotors that improves braking performance and provides even pad wear minimising glazing of pad surfaces for longer life.

Reduces Noise. The unique bi-symmetrical design of the DBA T2 Street Series Slotted Rotor dampens vibration harmonics (noise), resulting in a quieter, smoother, and more responsive brake pedal feel.

Non-directional. The T2 Street Series Brake Rotor features a non-directional slotted design that eliminates the need for left and right discs, making installation simple and straight forward.

Kangaroo Paw Design. DBA's patented "Kangaroo Paw" ventilation design, runs cooler, stronger, and outperforms traditional straight vane vented disc rotors by up to 20%.

Application. This pair of DBA T2 Street Series Slotted Brake Rotors are specifically designed to fit the front of the 1994 to 2004 GT and V6 Mustangs, excludes Cobra, Bullitt and Mach 1 models.

Can you recommend brake pads for this rotor set FT&Rear

    • I am going to recommend the Hawk Perfromance Ceramic Brake Pads for the front and rear. These are the same pads that I run on my 2013 Mustang and I love them. The ceramic pads give a nice bite while also having a a good life span.

      Big improvement!

Brakes look great and finish is very nice. I've bedded in the pads now and these brakes grab hard. Was skeptical at first, but glad I made the leap. Definitely recommend these brakes! (Using powerstop Z23 pads)

Exactly what I needed, you should need this too

Alright I waited a month to write this review, so as to get a feel for the new brakes. I had a scare with a lock up one afternoon, so I decided it was time to get a new set up. I went with the DBA T2 street series rotors and the HAWK HPS pads. I will review both of them together and give the same review for both, as I feel they go hand in hand. No doubt if you have stock brakes, you will feel a huge difference. On hard braking, there is much more feel to the pedal, and I feel pads gripping harder on the rotor with much less vibration and shaking. The one thing I had to relearn a bit, is that I feel this combo wants you to brake a little harder than with normal brakes. This is noticeable when say lightly braking to a stop light. For me the pedal feel for this light braking is the same, but it seems as if the brakes need to have just ever so much more pressure to get them to bite down. But once they do, man your eye balls might just pop out! So in summary, no doubt did they reduce my stopping distance. The initial bite is excelent and there is no squeal at all. The HPS pads throw off just a little less dust than the stock pads I had. They look great under some AM wheels, and are one of the best purchases I've ever made here at AM. You've heard me ramble on now, just go buy them!

DBA T2 Street Series Slotted Rotors

Great product and typical install time for a rotor job. They look great and provide solid stopping power. With a new pair of pads the car stops on the dime.

      Serious Improvement

First off my factory rotors/pads were in good condition at the time I put these on, I say that so when I rated this "Serious Improvement" it wasn't due to my original brakes being bad. I fully intend on placing these on my rears as well. These are a good alternative to a full brake upgrade "especially if money is short". Arrived on time and in great condition. Installation was a breeze did them in roughly 30 minutes.

      Stellar in the rain

During dry weather these work about the same as the OEM rotors did, with the added "growl" sound they give just before coming to a complete stop (I read it's normal, it's the pads going across the slots, and it's not annoying at all once you're used to it). It's in the rain that these made a HUGE difference. OEM rotors after going through a deep puddle would slip and slide for a pretty good distance before the pads would start to bite...with these the car stops just like nothing ever got wet. A very reassuring feeling knowing you've got brakes if you need them in an emergency when driving in the rain! I didn't rate them total 5s because I'm (unfairly) judging them against the Brembos I had on my last car...but for the money you won't go wrong with these on a daily driver that sees some spirited driving and stopping now and then!

      Great Rotors, Good Price

Direct fit replacement, took no time at all to put on. Stopping power is greatly improved over stock. Very quiet, even with Ceramic pads. Made in Australia. Look great on the car too.

Does the job and looks good doing it!

Nothing fancy here. Solid quality rotors at a good price. Good stopping power without shredding your brake pads. I use it on my daily driver so I can't attest to its abilities at the track. Looks good too!

      Very satisfied!

The stock rotors and pads were moderately worn and still effective when I decided to upgrade but when I did holy cow these bad boys have some bite with no effort! Plus they look sharp and clean!

      Best rotors for the money

I bought these rotors with Hawk HPS pads and J&M stainless steel Teflon brake lines. The stopping power is night and day. I had to relearn the braking characteristics of my mustang because the brakes work so well. Is it as good as getting a big brake kit? No, but for street driving with the occasional strip or track visit they are perfect and. Also at only $330.00 for the front I can use the left over money for more parts to go fast. Next is the same setup for the rear brakes.

      Great product

These slotted rotors do exactly what they was designed for as far as better stopping power and aid in cooling the brake pads. I will recommend this product to everyone product is very easy to install and better than a regular of rotors that you can purchase from autozone.

      Nice looks, Nice stopping power.

Installed front rotors and new pads in about three hours. (Only took that long because the old rotors took time to free up) Fit is great. They look really nice behind the wheels. I'm still in the break-in period, but so far they seem to have a good bite. Also very quiet with Hawk ceramic pads.
