Cooling kit for N/A application? My question was if the cooling upgrade kit will fit the natural aspirated GT? I also believe the modified ones like mine will benefit from the thermostat being on the hot side of the hoses and was wondering if this is specific to forced induction setups (like the E-force) only or if it's for any induction. I also was wondering why they list and include a new throttle position sensor in the kit? Thanks!

        • This is not a kit you want to install on a normally aspirated motor. Your normally aspirated motor is designed to have coolant temps held within your engine block for proper burning of fuel so that MPG requirements are met. When you change to forced induction, you increase the amount of fuel and air that is charged into the cylinders by the superchrager..This increases your cylinder pressure and also increases your cylinder temperature, thus we move to a different coolant/radiator hose configuration to take advantage of a faster charge of cooled radiator fluid to help keep engine temps in check. This is a nut shell explanation of what happens between a normally aspirated engine and a supercharged engine. I hope this helps you.

            Odd part

This thing while is necessary it is poorly built. The connector that it replaces is made of metal and the one that is here is plastic. So now if I need a new hose I have to buy the whole thing again. Because its all built and molded together. Also the hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the water crossover pipe on the block was bent at the wrong angle. So the correct position was like 7 o'clock and the hose was at 11 o'clock. I was able to rotate it to work ok.

A Required Improvement for 05-06 GT Cooling Systems

Edelbrock's cooling system upgrade for 2005-06 GT takes advantage of modified specs of 2007 GT by moving the thermostat from the cool to the hot side for more efficient cooling. Because the installation of the supercharger eliminates the OE coolant crossover (located above alternator), the upgrade is required. The kit, containing a new thermostat and housing, is well-made with excellent fit and is easy to install. It completes the replacement of all radiator hoses.

            You need it !

This product you need to buy, if you install the Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger. This kit is for the 05 & 06 Mustang GT. I had to buy another kit, because the upper hose was rubbing on a hose clamp that is clamped to the antifreeze over flow tank. I wish You could just buy 1 part instead of the whole kit. When you or somebody installs it check all hoses and hose clamps so this does not happen to you. Hope this helps.
