Might sound stupid but can this part be fitted with a h pipe? I am asking because I want to do a convertion but I want to know if I get the v6 dual exhaust or the gt dual exhaust and fit it with the H pipe. Thanks in advance

  • To install an H-pipe and convert to dual exhaust, you would need the Pacesetter V6 Dual Exhaust Adapter Kit, please see link below. This adapter kit will allow you to reuse your stock cats and combine with a 94-98 stock or aftermarket GT catback. This Flowmaster Exhaust would not bolt up properly with the H-pipe kit as it bolts up directly to the factory Y-pipe. Hope this helps!

Is this exhaust legal in california?

  • Yes, they are catbacks so they will not touch the emission components.

Ok so I don't know how to explain this and I'm not good with the proper names. Can I put in an h pipe and cut the mid pipes to fit the h pipe and can I use the same mufflers. I purchased this exhaust a couple years back but now I want an h pipe without having to purchase a gt exhaust kit.

  • The Flowmaster Force II Dual Cat-Back Exhaust would not work with the H-pipe unless you do some serious customization and welding which we would not recommend.

I have a 1994 3.8 V6. I have already purchased Flowmaster SF 44 mufflers. Is there a way or any where that I can get a kit like this that excludes the mufflers?

  • If you are looking at cat-back systems like our Flowmaster Force II Dual Cat-Back Exhaust (94-97 V6), that is your only option we have to offer in terms of significant piping of an exhaust sold on the website.

    Flowmaster

I thought it’s a great install to put on my V6. Made is sound a little muscly as it should. A little difficult to install due to the drivetrain in the way, but got it done

    Another great product from Flowmaster

I fitted this against a MagnaFlow Y pipe with performance Cats and a CAI. The install wasn't tough at all...it took longer to locate the tools. I powder coated them flat black, but out of the box the Fit and Finish were incredible. I was extremely nervous regarding the exhaust note, the YouTube videos sound is inherently horrible but when installed on your ride, they sound incredible.

    Wouldn’t buy

I don’t see a difference in sound at all. Only thing cool about it is, if you only had one exhaust pipe, now you have two.

    Great Fit, Easy Install

The Cat Back exhaust fit perfectly and sounds great compared to the stock exhaust. One consideration is check the condition of your existing exhaust Hangers as the Dual Cat Back Exhaust only comes with the passenger side hangers as it is assumed you can re-use the drivers side hangers that are already on the vehicle.

    Worth every penny

I installed this on my 1998 V6 ten years ago, and it is overall the best mod I have done to my car. It looks 100 better, sounds great, (gets louder with time) does not hurt the fuel economy, and sails right through the DEQ sniffer with flying colors when it's time to renew my tags. Not a lot of power gain, but the looks and sound are the real point. Hasn't rusted in 10 years of driving in the rain. Has turned heads on the street, and people at Mustang shows can't believe a V6 sounds this good.

Passenger Side Rubs tank & Flange Hole needs to be opened

I purchased this kit and it sounds a little louder....not obnoxiously loud though. The flange that bolts to the existing cars Y-Pipe needed one of its holes opened up with a die grinder. Good thing i read the reviews before i did the job, because i took my die grinder to my buddies house (who has a lift) to open the holes if need be....The other problem I had with this kit is the passenger side steel hanger that is welded to the polished pipe, rubs on the fuel tank flange. I guess I need to bend the flange a little to make for some more clearance. Other than that, it looks cool and sounds a little louder, especially at 2,500 RPM's!

    1997 FORD MUSTANG

I had got this for my husband for his birthday. He was hoping it would make it a little louder. As soon as got this one put on 2 days later get email with another muffler that was cheaper and would have been louder they didn't have that one when I ordered his. It looks good and car does sound different just not as loud as he wanted.

An overall OK product. Lacks the sound it claims.

This kit isn't all that loud. V8 sound Flowmaster claims is far from an actual V8. You have to get up to 2500rpm to really hear it and even at that its about 25% louder than a stock exhaust setup on the 3.8l's. I found I actually liked the sound of the car without the exhaust pipes. Yes, aesthetically they will make your ride look killer. However, if you want your V6 to sound like a V8, the off the pipes and have the exhaust stop after the mufflers (or buy a different kit). Unless I cut the cats and make the exhaust true-duals, the pipes are staying off. It sounds like an aggressiveV8 that way. Real deep tone Just all depends how loud you like your muscle car. If you want it loud all the time or prefer a more quite exhaust you have options with this kit.

    Better than most.

I was very careful with the exhaust I was going to purchase, did my research. I also read these comments/reviews on this brand as well as the pipes. I chose the magna flow. It was more solid and complete set and better/easier install. I did have to file the bolt holes to the y-pipe, no big deal. The left side was a breeze, but the right side I needed a 2nd body to help drop the tips to the muffler. But over all not bad at all. The right rear mount (behind the axle) kept coming loose so I used a lag bolt for now. After 3 weeks I started hearing the right side tap and noticed it was tapping on the gas tank, just needed adjusting. Over all my very happy with the product, def gives it a little throaty sound compared to stock. I thought it would be a little louder, but for the price and looks I cannot complain.

    Awesom

I was a little skepitcal about purchasing conversion kits becasue most of them don't fit...... but this was great. Had to open up the muffler output a little, but overall money well spent This exhaust system is great. The quality of the sound had tremendously increase in a good way. Smooth mello tone. Sounds like a little v8... would recommend this product. Thanks American Muscle!!.

    Great sound!!!

This system sounds great, way better than stock. I only had one minor problem and that was the passenger side tail pipe wouldnt stay tight, so i just had my step dad weld them. Other than that this system is great!

    A must have

I've been looking for something like this for some time now, so glad they added it to there inventory. Now that I had just got it installed (aprox 2.5 hrs), Sounds awesome, Ill have to run a couple tests for leaks but awesome product, fits perfectly. The only 2 problems i had was the flange to bolt the cat-back to the y-pipe, the holes for the bolts were about 1/8" off (holes were to close together) but simple fix was 1/2" bit may try 9/16" and a drill, and clearance for the passenger side pipe coming off the spliter and the driveshaft is a little tight, had to lower my car off the stands and back on the ground for it to have bout 1.5" of clearance.
