Hey, guys. Today, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Ford Performance 'Powered by Ford Performance' emblem for any and all year Mustangs. This is a nice and very easy way to add a little bit of custom exterior styling to your Mustang. It can be installed on any year Mustang as long as you have a flat surface. It installs with double-sided 3M tape, costs about $90, it's made from plastic, it's chrome-plated with red, black, and blue accents, and it's made to last outdoors, so you don't have to worry about this fading over time. It is an official Ford Performance logo and emblem, and it's very easy to get installed. I'll call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. As far as measurements go, it's 5 5/8 inches long, and 1 5/8 inches high. And I'll show you how to get this on your car now.Okay, guys. A couple things to mention before we get to actually installing our emblem here. This emblem is flat, and it installs with 3M tape only. The back side of this is all 3M tape, so you can literally install this anywhere on your car as long as you have a flat surface. So, we are going to be replacing our 5.0-liter fender badge with this emblem. Like I said, you guys can install this anywhere you want to, anywhere you think that it looks good, but we're going to go ahead and replace the 5.0 with this. I am going to use this little plastic tool that I have here. This is a very soft tool, so it can get behind the emblem easily. There's about 10 different ways you guys can take an emblem off of a car. You can use fishing line. You can use any type of pry tool like this, but you want to make sure that it's soft and a little bit flexible because you don't want to scratch or dent anything. So, what I'm going to do right here is, I'm just going to take this little tool, and I'm going to work around the edges of our emblem here and just get behind the 3M tape. This emblem does have two posts, so there are holes in the fender. You won't see it because our new emblem will cover it up, but I'm just making sure that when I hit something, I know that I'm hitting a post. I actually don't want to break the emblem. I want to leave it in one piece as I try to take it off, so I'm just going to work around the edges for now and get the edges loose. If you guys want to, you can always use a little bit of heat. I don't think I need to in this case because this tool is working just fine, and this is actually coming off easily. There's a little post down in this corner here, and one up here on the top of the 5. A lot of times, they like to break here at this point, so if you don't want to break your fender badge, just make sure you're really careful. And like anything that installs with 3M tape, you're going to want to make sure that your surface is as clean as possible, even if you aren't replacing another emblem. So, I'm going to go ahead and remove all of this 3M adhesive here, just so I can have a clean surface for my new emblem to attach to.All right, so I have a soft eraser wheel here on the end of my drill, and I'm just going to use that to remove the 3M from the fender. All right, so we're going to check and see what we have left here. There's still a little bit of 3M to clean up, and we need to clean the surface a little bit. So, I have a little bit of adhesive remover on a rag here, and I'm going to go ahead and clean my surface with that. All right, so in order to get our emblem ready, all we have to do is just peel the backing off, and then we already have the adhesive side of the 3M.So, there's a couple different ways that you can actually put this on. You guys can tape if you want to. You can have a second set of eyes help you out and make sure it's lined up perfectly straight. We're going to go ahead and line this up, and then just press into place. And just like any other 3M exterior piece, you guys are going to want to make sure you don't go through any car washes. The 3M will take a little time to set.All right, guys, that's going to wrap up this review and install. Keep in mind that you can always check this out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.
