    1 Top Rated Question

Is this stock, rubber bushing, preferred over a polyurethane bushing? I would think the stock ones softness shorter life span would warrant the use of a poly bushing such as the one from Prothane.

    • The Ford Upper Axle Bushing will utilize the stock rubber, which is softer, and therefore not ideal for high performance, however it also will give a smoother, quieter ride than polyurethane or spherical bushings.

      Easy to put in

The new peic was pretty easy to put in, I used a ball joint press. The old one however, we had to drill out the bushing and dent the metal casing in, then use a socket and hammer to get it the rest of the way out

Good product, a pain in the *** to remove the old one and install the new one without proper tools, but a screwdriver, WD-40, and a hammer will work too. Definitely will buy again

BMR Rear Lower Control Arm Rescue-Axle Bushing R/R

Installing this replacement bearing was the easy part... Getting the old one out (what a nightmare). But after much struggle got the job done and a great result! Worth the effort.

      Direct fit

This item was a direct fit and works perfectly. My old one was blown from take offs and I messed up the collar on the outside and needed to replace it. It is very hard to do even in the dealership I work at and getting the new one in is way harder then taking the old out

      Needed !!!

when doing your rear end...never overlook the bushings that hold your driveline in it right the first time and save money in the long run... (press or Rental Bushing Remover Required... and save yourself a long afternoon...most auto supply stores rent them)

I replaced the Factory upper control arm with a BMR upper control arm and mount. I figured I would replace this bushing while I had everything apart. The factory bushing was extremely difficult to remove, I had to drill out the rubber part and then cut the rest out. There is your shortcut. Now everything is in place, and my car is not wheel hopping. Worth the money, budget for more time.

      New Old Stock?

Kinda worried about installing this, came with sticker on it showing it was made in 8/2004 - Chance of the rubber being dry is a problem.

      Good quality factory replacement.

Poly bushings and stiffer UCA's can cause binding, noise and transfer more shock to torque boxes. The factory one is fine for street and even for the occasional track run. My factory one was fine but I swapped differentials because I got a super deal on one for a gear swap and wanted to paint it up too. This bushing was missing. I pressed this one in with a ball joint press, using a piece of pipe, a washer and a socket to adapt to the diameters properly. It takes some power. A good impact is best as the jolting helps. You could throw it in the freezer overnight first to shrink it a bit too. The correct press depth will yield equal extension of the center sleeve from either side of the carrier casting.

      Great improvement

This bushing really helped the NVH on my rear suspension setup. Old bushing was really torn up. This was a really time consuming part to install without the right tools. Make sure you have a press.

Rear upper upper control arm axle bushing replacement

My old bushing was cracked and torn, this is a perfect replacement. I thought about using a polyurethane replacement but didn't want to lose the articulation of rubber. This bushing is pressed in so borrow a press from the parts store to get old one out and new one installed. If you have access to a lift or a mechanic friend, use them, tough replacement on you back. Replacement brought the ride back to the day the car was new.
