            5 2006 V6 - JoshC Installation Time: Afternoon

            Easy install ok sound.

I went from a custom H pipe with Borla Stingers to this setup. The Borlas had a nice rumble down low but fell flat at high RPMs (of course it's a v6). It also had an ungodly amount of drone on the highway. The FRPP setup has zero drone, looks good, and will growl some if you get on it. Overall, I'm happy with the setup and being able to hear again while on the highway.

Not loud at all, sounds real good, looks real good, not for somebody that wants a real loud system. Fit real well, looks good sticking out the back. Definitely increased the power, also made it shift smoother

            Awesome upgrade for my '06

After a lot of research for a dual exhaust conversion I decided chose the Ford Performance and am glad I did. First of all no drone at highway speeds like I had with my axle back exhaust. It looks perfect with the prepainted GT bumper that I installed. It sounds great, not loud at all at idle or cruising on the highway but has a very nice growl when I get on the gas. Overall couldn't be happier with the fit and finish and the shop that did the install made note of the quality of the exhaust.

            Very Nice Growl

Awesome exhaust for your v6. Although, It does drone at exactly 1400rpm/50mph (could be just mine). This exhaust makes my v6 sound like a v8 at lower rpms.

            Roars But Rattles

I got and had professionally installed the Ford Performance dual exhaust system. I chose it over the others since it was Ford designed and I have zero non-Ford parts in my car. It looks awesome and sounds great... BUT... there is a rattle that occurs at idle after the car warms up. Nothing is loose and nothing is touching anywhere for it to vibrate against a frame or body part. I am starting to regret the choice.

Awesome upgrade! Sounds the same as the GTs. The installation guides made the job easier then anticipated a lift is highly recommended! Can be done in stands but not fun. The guide said 3 hours took us five with two trips for saw blades and a clamp.

            She is almost done.

Once I had it all orchestrated, Body shop for the cosmetic stuff, and Muffler shop for the install, It went like clock work to the finish. The Pipes look real good on my little '07. The sound when I turn over the engine is satisfying. I have painted her a Black Cherry Pearl. The Tail Lights are Smoked Coyote, and I have the Crome Caps on the Shifter. All I need now is the Raxium and I'm done.

            Barely louder than stock, but...

It's barely louder than stock, but it definitely feels faster. I wish they had included the GTA mufflers, as they sound better. But at least it makes her go. I'd give a 3, but the jump in power makes up for it.

            Holy Balls Batman

Ordered this exhaust for my '05 V6 last week and I was surprised how quickly it arrived. It arrived in less then a week and was very well packaged. I had it installed at a shop for $200 because I wanted it welded in instead of clamped but I did the cut outs myself and those were much more difficult to line up then I expected. The instructions and the lines on the template aren't that clear. Printing a fresh, color copy of the instructions from the Ford Racing website helped but the templates were still not very clear as to the positioning. However, after getting the kit installed, holy balls Batman. As others have noted, the system isn't any louder then the stock system but what it is is ballsier. And those balls aren't just figurative either. I was surprised at just how much the stock system choked the life out of the V6. The throttle response is instantaneous now. No more waiting for the engine to come alive when you bury your foot. Now she's alive and just waiting for the go juice. If you're looking to start your mods I'd highly recommend starting right here and working your way forward. You have to have someplace for all that extra flow to go before you can feed more air and fuel down her throat.

            looks great but not loud

It looks great, but not loud at all. If you want loud this is not what you're looking for. It's louder than stock and what you do hear sounds great but IMO it's not loud at all. No drone at all either. I did notice right away it added some horsies, nothing dramatic, but a few. I also noticed a very slight gain in MPG, nothing huge there either less than 1 MPG but, it's something

Took longer than expected but great install

Instructions could've been much clearer or maybe I missee some key words. Great set to install, quiet inside when you're driving and on the highway, but loud when you want it to be. Paper cutout sheet helped cut a hole in the bumber in the right spot made a lot easier.

            Great fit,Nice sound

Just installed this exhaust on my 2008 Convertible. Everything fit during install, all the parts are great quality; very happy with the sound. I put the front of the car on ramps and the rear on stands just in front of the axle, I had no problem getting the mid-pipes in over the axle. I wanted a slightly louder sound than stock, and this exhaust sounds great to me. Thanx AM

            5 2006 V6 - Nick Installation Time: Full Day

Overall satisfied, some things to keep in mind:

Before purchasing a dual exhaust kit for my 2006 v6 I did a lot of research over the span of many months. I knew that converting to duals on a v6 does not always sound the best. I was looking for a setup that would maintain/amplify the muscle car deep sounding idle and sound while driving. I wanted a louder exhaust than stock, but not too loud. This exhaust kit gave me all of that. It is deep and slightly louder than stock at idle, very quiet when you want to be, but sounds amazing when you put the pedal to the floor. The dual exhaust tips sticking out from the rear bumper completely amps up the look of the rear, much more aggressive. The install took around 5 hours with the proper tools, without a lift. There are a few things I wish were different. At around 1900 RPMs, there is a very noticeable drone. Only at this specific RPM. It was not a problem at first but I now commute about 1.5 hours round trip every day to school, and this drone is most noticeable in 5th gear at 60 mph, which is the speed I am often driving at when there is daily commute congestion. It is easily fixed by shifting to 4th gear. I'm sure this occurs with other v6 dual exhaust conversion kits, especially the cheaper kits I have read that the drone is terrible. Compared to those, I am sure it is not bad. If you don't do much highway driving, it should not be a problem. Other than that, money well spent. If you are looking for loud sound over quality, look elsewhere. The quality of the pipes was top notch and it is worth spending the extra money to not have poor quality parts bolted to your car. One last note; I have heard that installing a cold air intake fixes drone problems. I have a cold air intake installed and still experience the drone, so I don't believe that helps. Hope this helped.

I was researching for a very long time about the proper exhaust to get for my beautiful car.. This is my first Mustang so naturally I want everything to be absolutely perfect. I only use the best oil, power steering fluid, wiper blades etc. Anyways, I researched a long time about other exhaust systems that can make your single stage into a dual exhaust... But upon reading and inspection I learned that only a true dual system will give you the true bang for you buck that you're looking for.. You could lose horsepower or spend all that money for just the look of a "true dual" system, however.. After having these Ford Racing pipes installed and driving them over the course of the last 3 months... You can definitely feel a tremendous difference aside from your single stage system. When I drive now i definitely feel a tension loss in my gas pedal, sounds weird but I can feel my car actually releasing the power it wants to release now and of course you can always make your car more powerful, faster etc but this is a huge difference, the exhaust sounds amazing and isn't so loud it's obnoxious, creates just a slight bit more cabin volume and definitely lets you feel where your money went when you drive it.. I've rambled on quite a bit but basically what i'm trying to say is, if you're looking for a true dual exhaust system and want something that's just perfect, get this.. Totally worth the money! Oh and you will hear a big difference in your cars aggression once you press on the gas! It gives it a much more racing fast throaty tone!

            A must for a Mustang

Mustangs were meant to have dual exhaust, and this kit fills the bill. I went with the GT bumper for more of a stock look. Took just about an hour on a lift two people working on it. Exhaust has a low rumble at idle and a good strong throaty roar when you get on it. At cruising speed it is mellow, so there is no need to shout to your passenger. If I could change one thing it would be to have the tail pipes about 2 inches shorter, but over all I'm very happy I went with Ford Racing over the other two choices.

This is the best exhaust made. The fit and finish are great, throttle respond is very good.
