Perfect for Installs or Rebuilds. When installing new gears in your Pony it only makes sense to replace the old worn seals and bearings while the housing is apart, especially if it has over 60,000 miles on the odometer. A Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Installation Kit is extra insurance against the need for another costly tear down and rebuild.

Complete Kit. This Ford Racing kit comes complete with all the components needed to swap out your ring and pinion gear. It includes gaskets, seals, shims, bearings and all the required hardware.

Application. This Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Installation Kit is designed for use with 8.8in solid rear axle equipped V8 Mustangs, including the GT, Bullitt, Mach 1 and the 1994-1998 SVT Cobra. It will not fit the 1999-2004 IRS equipped Cobra.

        DONT use Ford Performance Parts

Ford sent 3 bearings and no pinion bearing and race. Contacted AM w/ parts number. They called back, said Ford didn't recognize parts number wanted to know if it was pinion bearing. (Googled parts # and it was pinion bearing. Said it could take 8 days to receive it. My car's on the man's lift. I called a few days later and AM asked if it were the pinion bearing. I asked if it was shipped AM said didn't think so. So, maybe another 8 days. 4 days later, I received a bearing. And it was the wrong bearing, for a newer model Mustang. After I realized it haven't been shipped, the man got one from local business. SO. after 8 days on the lift, Ford cost me an extra $50 and send the wrong bearing. Their heads must be up their butts.

Rear end and also got lowering springs

Man besides the fact that I didn’t have all tools needed to do this and I was laying on a rocky driveway with floor jacks, once I got everything out and after beating all the old stuff out this product fit perfectly and install did not take near as long, I am very pleased with product I also ordered the 1.5 inch linear lowering springs after reading reviews I was kind of iffy because people said it did not lower the rear of the car but instead lifted real car don’t always believe what you read in reviews I installed the lowering springs and got the perfect all around lowering I am very please with all the products I ordered off this website

Is this all I would need for my 8.8" rebuild? My 1996 Mustang GT has over 200k miles and started leaking out of the right rear axle seal. Does this kit include everything I would need to completely rebuild my rear end? Other than fluids that is.

      • Just to reseal the rear end and replace bearing yes its all you need but to completely rebuild you would need to replace your traction loc discs if you have a limited slip rear end

Replacing Rear Gears and Bearings Hello, I'm needing to replace my rear axle bearings as I was informed from a mechanic last night since he said mine are about shot, and figured if I'm going to do that I may as well replace the rear gear and pinion while in there since I;m at about 157k miles and growing daily as its my road warrior for my daily commute. I can get a slightly used FRPP 3.73 with only 5k on the gear in good condition fairly cheap from a friend. And wanted to make sure this is all I need to replace the rear end for the installation bearings and axle bearings, ect. I didnt see any Purple Power Fluids mentioned here, can you recommend anything else I need for the installation or links to them on your site? Thanks!

      • To complete your install, you will want this FR Installation Kit for sure. It comes with all the bearings and shims needed for a full replacement. Also, you will need new 75w90 gear oil and to recalibrate your speedometer to the new gear ratio. I've included links below for to the best way to recalibrate your speedometer, the SF3 Power Flash Tuner. You can get custom tunes through our Bama Team to correct your speedo and get the best performance from your Stang! The Royal Purple gear oil has a friction modifier included and is the perfect complement to new gears!
