Ask a Question

fitting on an Axle- back exhaust can you fit on any type of axle-back exhaust with these long tube headers

  • yes the axleback hooks up to a dif part of the exhaust, they'll work just fine

Are these catted and will they connect to my 3 inch borla sport catback.

  • The cats are actually located between the mid pipe and the headers, and a lot of aftermarket mid pipes include the cats (or cat deletes) so there isn't really an answer for if they are catted as the cats are located in a different location. There is also a shorter midpipe required for proper fitment of longer headers, and this mid pipe is in between the catback and the headers. So you would need to make sure you get a shorter mid pipe compatible with both these headers, and your catback system.

Are they coated on the inside to?

  • The JBA Ceramic Long Tube Headers are ceramic coated on the outside only.

    Headers that DON'T fit!

I was assured by "Juan" that the headers I ordered had been "RandD" Ed to fit my application. Headers looked great out of the box with one problem. They didn't even come close to fitting. After numerous calls, much cutting, and welding, on a set of $700 headers, they still don't fit.

Good quality but fitment is questionable

The headers look great and seem to be good quality. I had a shop install and they said it was not to bad. They said it would have gone just as fast by dropping the su-frame. I have some rubbing/banging going on that we are currently trying to get worked out. Waiting for response from JBA. Very slightly taps steering column every once in a while. Passenger side header pretty much lays against sub-frame of car. Constant noise. Since the motor mounts are good the mechanic/technician is thinking we will have to notch out the frame to gain the necessary clearance. Maybe JBA will have some insight but for the time being I would advise being cautious in purchasing these. I'm basically spending double the install fee because of this issue. Might have to send them the second bill!!!

    Good for the price

These headers are great for the price but expect some minor fitment issues.

    One of three important upgrades...

I have a Bama 93 tune to accomodate a JLT 107mm and these JBA headers with the midpipe. First, the shop that did the install said it was not that easy. Header fitment was OK, but the stock 02 sensors did not have compatible hookups to the midpipe, and make sure the collector end of the midpipe fits into your mufflers. I have Outlaw Flowmasters that also still had the 2.75" stock pipe coming from the 3" mufflers and the 3"midpipe will not fit. But once all figured out, quite a difference. Stock the car produced 420 hp to the crank. I had the car dyno'd today. These headers, midpipe, JLT 107mm, Flowmaster Outlaws and Bama 93 octane tune for all of it.. I threw down 430 hp to the ground with 416 foot lbs of torque. My car generates to the wheels more hp than what the car produced stock to the flywheel!!! Dyno shop said I am producing about 500 hp to the crank. These mods got me 80 hp. So... there is proof,

    JBA Ceramic

excellent fit. I had bbk cat delete pipes x pipe and magnaflow street and this header actually made the car quieter. great fit as per mechanic but said that tightening bolts to head is a little more difficult than kooks due to the way the tubes are aligned. good performance gain also can be felt accelerating.

    Jba long tubes

These long tubes are great. Major boost in power "feel" and deep throaty sound. Great bang for your buck!! Make sure to upgrade your mufflers to handle all the new power from long tubes.

After the blood and sweat, the performance and sound were great. Not bad for the Price, i am very happy with the purchase. It took me 7 hours to get these bad boys on with a lift and some help. Do not attempt to try installing the headers without a lift as it will be impossible. Motor mounts and the supports for the mounts on the driver's side have to come out and the starter as well, it will make it easier. After bolting on the headers, the fit was not completely straight, i had to do a little hammering on the exhaust channel as the headers were about 1/3" away from it and the brackets provided would not fit with that much space. Next, the O2 sensor extentions did not match the original connections and a little altering on the wiring had to be done. Finally, the JBA H-Pipe (purchased from JBA) did not quite come together, there was a gap in the middle of the H after complete assembly and welding had to be involved in order to prevent a leak. After a few finger cuts & brooses, the final assemby came out great. I will recommend a shop install or someone who knows car mechanics very well, as you will need alterations if you choose to buy these. I am screeching tires all the ay to 4rth gear now.

JBA Ceramic Headers and Hi-Flow X-Pipe

Wow, you hear people say you can feel a difference in the seat of your pants. Now, I know exactly what they are talking about. Haven't been on the Dyno yet but there is a noticeable gain. Great fit and finish. The shop even commented on how nice they were and I didn't buy from them. Thanks again American Muscle and JBA.

Great performance and sound, 'ok' fit

Making the transition to long tubes was a pretty easy choice. Not only are the performance gains incredible but the sound is noticeably better. The connection to the o/r JBA H-pipe isn't the greatest but it is not a problem. I would definitly keep the factory resonators or cats (or weld in some aftermarkets) because it get's raspy pretty quick. I didn't notice any dramatic changes in engine temperature as people claim on the forums but I don't drive like a maniac either... You can't beat the sale price for these ceramic headers and I would buy them again if I had too. Installation is a bit pricey but there is quite a bit of work involved. Just get it done right. I'll post a youtube clip within the next few weeks in case you're still debating... TheDude Abides
