Is the drone on these as bad as running straight pipes? I ran straight on my 3.7 mustang for 1 week and the cruising speed drone was so bad i had to almost shout to have a conversation in the car. I'm looking for more volume and can accept some drone but not wanting to waste a bunch of money either.

    • The MAC Axle-Back Exhaust will not drone as much as a straight pipe exhaust.

I noticed the muflers come with a 2.5 tubing. My Mustang has a 2 1/4' tubing do these come in that size.

    • The Mac axle backs would work perfectly with your stock exhaust on your car now!

Can this fit on long tube Xpipe

    • The MAC Axle-Back Exhaust will attach to your factory cat-back exhaust, so as long as your x-pipe fits with your current cat-back exhaust, the installation of this axle-back will fit.

Has anyone tried this under a convertible?

    • The MAC Axle-Back Exhaust (11-14 V6) will work on 11-14 Mustang V6 Coupes and Convertibles. There should not be any issues installing this Axle-Back on a Convertible.

Can these Axle-backs be connected to BBK Shorty X-Pipe? I wanted to know before I buy the mac axle backs, if they would be compatible with the BBK shorty X-pipe with the x pipe being connected to BBK shorty headers?

    • Within your exhaust system, your mid-pipe and axle-back do not directly connect with one another. You would be able to use the axle-back of your choice for your year/model, including this MAC, with your BBK Headers and midpipe. I want to also note, you would not be able to use both a shorty mid-pipe with shorty headers. You would need to have either Shorty Headers with a Standard Mid-pipe or Long Tube Headers with a Shorty Mid-pipe for proper fitment. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to give our Customer Service a call - we'd be happy to help!

      Step up from stock

These sound amazing outside of car, not super excited about the sound from inside, they tend to drone but it's not excessive, overall i'm pretty happy with them. Installed them in about 2 hours with a friend, fairly simple.

      Too Much Droning

Exhaust sounds aggressive on accelerations and up over 4gs rev and it is a good value. There is just a tad too much drone in the passenger compartment.

      Deep tone, not ricey

Just what I was looking for. Not to loud and not to quiet. They have a nice deep tone to them. Not raspy sounding. When you get into the throttle, that’s when they really sound awesome.(deep and loud) It took me 1 1/2 hr to install.

Bought the mac axle back exhaust system after endless search of YouTube videos, sound clips and reviews and I must say, if you're looking for v8 sound from v6 it's amazing how this exhaust system sounds. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. On the flip side I just heard the sound of the roush axle back exhaust system for the v6 mustang in person at a mustang show recently and I will probably go with that system instead. But if you are looking for that v8 sound from your v6 2010-2014 mustang this mac axle back exhaust will BLOW YOUR MIND. And it just so happens that my Mac axle back exhaust are still in the box and for SALE!!!

      Way too much drone

I just had these mufflers installed this week, wishing i hadnt...the exhaust sounds good when youre getting on it, but getting there or driving any type of normal acceleration there is an ear deafening drone, a pitch that murders your ears, and if i feel thay way i certainly cannot drive my little girl around in it.... 380 for the exhausy and 100 to have them put on, i will be taking them back off myself this weekend... a waste of 500 bucks. fast shipping and always good customer service as always, just a bad product

Deffinity don't sound like a v8 but for a v6 I think they sound pretty good more of a deep tone not to raspy witch I was worried about and I have read some reviews that say these mufflers rust on the tips witch I hope mine dont.....

      2014 V6 Mustang

I bought and installed the MAC axel backs back in July. These are very loud and sound great outside the car. Sounds like a V8. Inside the car however they make the worst drone ever. I can't even hear my radio half the time when driving. If you don't mind the drone then these are a must buy. I will be going back to stock until I can find something with less drone.

      Unhappy with purchase

The note is just noise. I bought this thinking it will give it a v8 sound, but has no real note its just noise. Plus to make matters worse the exhaust pipe was bent. Wishi would of bought a different exhaust.

      Ride Changer

For me, the factory exhaust wasn't enough, so I searched for months to see which axle-back had that perfect muscle car sound. When I saw that these were on sale on the website, I became a little cautious because I didn't know wether it was worth it or not. So I eventually decided to try it out and from the second I started my car I was in love! The tone that this exhaust puts off is unfathomable coming from a V6. The Mac axle-back exhaust is a total head turner to say the least. I didn't even feel as if I were driving the same car. Yes there is drone. For the town cruiser this could be a problem, but not too big of one, I would suggest getting some dynamat in your trunk and on the doors and you will be fine. but if you drive the highways with the cruise control it is a beautiful note, and if you don't like it, turn on the radio. I regret nothing about my purchase but I do wish that the kit came with clamps so I wouldn't have had to rip off the clamps from the factory exhaust. Once again thank you American Muscle

      Very nice V8 Tone!!

These Exhaust pipes put out a very nice tone. The install only took about 30 minutes! The sound on the inside is a little loud, but personally i like it! So if you would like your mustang to sound mean and loud i recommend this product! The fit is great and it looks awesome! The sound is just amazing when starting off in first gear and once you get to third third and forth they scream at you. Great upgrade for a V6 to sound a little meaner. Shipped fast and on time couldn't be happier!
