Hey guys. Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with a Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank for 2015 and up Mustangs. The Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank is perfect for those S550 owners out there that are looking for some underhood improvements. The factory coolant expansion tank is plastic, and it looks like a bubble which can leave a lot to be desired in the looks department, especially over time. The Mishimoto tank is not only more attractive, making for a better appearance, but it's also more durable and stronger than the factory plastic tank as well. Just looking at the Mishimoto tank here you can see that it's an obvious appearance upgrade right away. It has an attractive one-piece design instead of the stock two-piece design, and it's made from aluminum, and it has lovely welds on it. Even though this tank is powder coated black, the welds are obvious, and Mishimoto doesn't look like they were rushing when they were building this tank. If you weren't that into the black, Mishimoto does offer the same tank with a polished aluminum finish if you prefer that instead, or you always have the option of powder coating it your own color. These tanks are TIG welded which will give strength and durability, and the aluminum will be stronger than the factory plastic tank. So not only will this tank offer an appearance upgrade but it will also be more durable and hold up better than a plastic tank, especially in high performance applications. Like the factory tank, this tank also has internal baffles. The internal baffles will keep the coolant from sloshing around, so this means during braking or high speed cornering, and since the coolant won't be sloshing around it will stay close to the overflow cord therefore helping to prevent coolant starvation and air from entering the system. Another cool thing this tank has is a sight tube. The sight tube allows you to keep an eye on your coolant level at a glance, which is important since this tank is a solid blacked-out tank. This thing will be your new best friend. The tank will come complete with an overflow nipple on the fill neck so you can attach more reservoirs if necessary. It's also a direct fit replacement that's going to work on an S550 V6, Ecoboost and GT so you won't have to worry about making room for this tank, and it reuses a stock overflow cap as well. As far as price, you're looking at spending just over $175 for this tank. The polished aluminum version is the same price so you'll have a choice of which you like better. The tank is nicely made and has some nice features like the hot and cold fill lines, and at the end of the day you're investing in an item that will improve both looks and it will last longer than the factory plastic tank. The install for this overflow tank is very easy. I mentioned that it's a direct bolt-on replacement, which means that it will just take the place of the factory overflow tank, and it does reuse the factory cap. You won't need any special tools to complete the install, just a few sockets, a flat head and hose clamp removers, and it will take less than an hour to complete, and I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You will want to drain some of the coolant so you can pull up your stock expansion tank, so having some extra coolant to fill up with is a good idea. The factory tank uninstalls by removing 3 hoses and 2 10 millimeter bolts. It doesn't get much easier than this here. You can clamp your hose down if you want to make sure you don't leak any coolant, and the new tank installs the same way the factory one came out. One hose on the bottom, two bolts on the fan shroud and two hoses on the top of the tank. The stock cap can then be installed, and the install can be finished by topping off and bleeding the coolant system. Wrapping things up here, the Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank will help you add some additional reliability by upgrading the materials of the expansion tank. It will also add some styling to the engine bay in either black or polished aluminum. It will eliminate the unattractive factory two-piece plastic tank and replace it with a single-piece design that utilizes a sight tube, and you can check it out more online right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

High Performance. Add additional strength and reliability to your S550 with this black powdercoat Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank. Replace that weak plastic eye sore that came on your 2015-2019 Mustang, which is known to fail in high temperature situations, with this TIG-welded aluminum beauty. Improve both your underhood styling and coolant tank longevity with this Coolant Expansion Tank by Mishimoto.

Durable Construction. Fully TIG-welded for durability and crafted from high strength 100% aluminum, this black powdercoated Mishimoto Coolant Expansion Tank will be much stronger, not to mention better looking, than the stock two-piece plastic tank. Featuring internal baffles to keep coolant from sloshing during high speed cornering, braking or acceleration, the baffles also help to prevent coolant starvation from the overflow ports on your S550 engine.

Easy Installation. This Coolant Tank by Mishimoto has been designed as a direct fit replacement and comes complete with a sight tube to help keep an eye on your coolant levels at a glance. Complete with an overflow nipple on the fill neck to attach additional NHRA reservoirs if necessary, this tank comes with the necessary installation hardware for a simple install, taking just under an hour.

Application. This black Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank is designed to fit on 2015-2019 V6, GT and EcoBoost Mustangs and reuses the stock overflow tank cap.

First unit had the overflow connection broken off, promptly received a replacement which installed easily. Radiator cap didn’t snap lock like the OEM but did line up and is secure.

Review from Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank (15-19 GT, EcoBoost, V6)

      Very Nice Expansion Tank

This was a very nice add on to my under hood dress up! It was very easy to install and the fit and finish are absolutely great. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 star rating is that the stock cap doesn't quite fit perfectly. It take a lot of muscle to get it close to all the way locked down. In the install video they had no issues so this just might be my tank or cap. Again great product I just wish the neck on the tank was a bit better fit for the stock cap.

      Great Product

With this being the first "upgrade" that I got for under the hood I was very happy with it. It was easy enough to install to follow the instructions included. It changes the looks for under the hood from having the stock one to this black tank to match the rest of the motor.

This was an easy install for a clean look! I really like that it takes away from the cheap look of the factory coolant tank.

Review from Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank (15-19 GT, EcoBoost, V6)

      Quick and easy fit

I purchased this at the American muscle car show back in June. Just got around to installing in my 2017 mustang. It went in very easily, did lose some anti freeze in the process of changing the tanks. So off to my local auto parts store to purchase some coolant. Told them the type of car and what motor was in it, I questioned them if it was the proper coolant. I had my doubts about it, called the help line on the jug and they said it was not the right coolant. Ended up at local ford dealer and got the right coolant. It cost a little more but in the long run it will save me from motor woes. P.S. looks Sharp as all get out under the hood.

      Mishimoto aluminum coolant tank

Very well made product. Looks so much better than that ugly stock plastic one. Then only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because it dosen't come with a cap for the tank. But overall extremely happy with it.

      What an improvement!

I love the way this looks. My only thing was the hose provided was much to long and does not bend the way the stock hose does. Luckily the stock hose fits on the tank just fine. The other thing is it did not come with enough clamps to change out all 6. No instructions in the box either but that is not a big deal. Minimal mess is made swapping parts out but should get some extra coolant just in case before you start.

These tanks are junk buy any of the other brands

I had to order 3 tanks and the only reason I even accepted the 3rd one was because I didn't want to wait another month to get another one. The first one the nipple was broke off. Ok that's ups, second one sent they milled the screw on cap and my radiator cap wouldn't go on ( talked to mishimoto and they said they have no idea how many in that batch were cut wrong) the 3rd one the sight glass tube is way to long so my sight glass to check the overflow tank is curved like a D. For the amount of money they tell people to sell these for, they are garbage. Get ready for disappointment unless you go with another brand!

Thank God the other tank is gone!!!!

I had a Roush Supercharger installed and still had the plastic factory overflow tank-like having your gorgeous wife wear a burlap dress. The install was quick and easy. Only issue is the overflow house comes EXTREMELY close to the supercharger pulley. Some modification may be needed to make sure it doesn't rub. Oh and the other issue was I had to wait three months to get it when American Muscle already had my money. I love the product but that just ain't right!

Review from Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank (15-19 GT, EcoBoost, V6)

      Great looking tank but

I took a couple hours this weekend and installed the coolant expansion tank. Looks great and well made but instructions are not that easy to follow. I was able to figure all this out but only concern was that the Stock Ford tank cap (which they state should be reused and fits perfectly) does not really fit perfectly. You hand screw in until it bottoms out but there is no click, nor does this cap align as mentioned on instructions.

      What an eye catcher!

As I said in the post with the pics I submitted. The Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank will get the attention of on lookers, as soon as you raise the hood. There were no instructions included with the hardware, so common sense had to prevail. As always, fast service from AmericanMuscle.
