    Review & Installation Video

Hey everyone I’m Justin with and I’m checking out a way to keep your ride cool, all while making a dramatic visual improvement under the hood as well, talking about these Mishimoto performance radiators for your Mustang. Mishimoto has become one of the industry leaders in terms of performance radiators, this direct factory replacement is a great solution for an old or leaking radiator. Now some of our customers have mentioned that this rad has been their cure for their motor running a little hot when adding different performance mods, especially superchargers which can notorious for making any motor run hot. This radiator has been designed to keep your street or strip Mustang much cooler thanks to their unique design, which allows a 25% increase of cooling capacity over your stock radiator. These radiators are manufactured from lightweight aluminum, feature leak proof brass fittings, and are all hand welded to ensure top notch quality, and a perfect fitment. On top of all that they also feature a limited lifetime warranty, no questions asked. The install may be slightly more difficult than bolting up that new cold air intake, but honestly it’s not that bad, think of it as a giant oil change. The first step is you need to drain all the coolant out of the factory radiator, but you want to make sure you have something large enough to hold all that fluid, we recommend at least a 15 quart drain pan. Once you’ve done that, yank the hoses off, then unbolt your factory radiator, removing it from your engine bay. Once you’ve done that, reinstall the Mishimoto in its place, reattach the hoses, and fill it with a 50-50 mix of coolant and water. That’s it, install should take you about 2 hours from start to finish. This would also be a good time to check out Mishimoto’s performance radiator hose kit, not only will they hold up to the heat and pressure better than your stock hoses, but they’ll also make a nice visual improvement under the hood. Every gearhead knows that heat is one of the worst enemies for performance, it can drain power, hurt your fuel mileage, or even damage your motor. So if you want to help your Mustang keep its cool whether it’s on the street or the track, then you’ll definitely want to check out these performance radiators from Mishimoto

Keep Cool. Keep your Foxbody producing as much horsepower as possible by keeping it cool with a Mishimoto radiator. When you're running your Mustang hard at the strip or the track, your stock radiator just can't keep up. A Mishimoto radiator has up to 25% more cooling capacity than your OEM radiator that will help you keep temps down and power up.

Lightweight Aluminum. Mishimoto Radiators are crafted of lightweight high-quality aluminum. Each radiator is hand-welded to which ensure a perfect fit and great underhood appearance.

Leak-Proof Design. Other aftermarket radiators have a design problem that causes leakage from the outlet to the overflow reservoir. Unlike other manufacturers, Mishimoto uses specially designed brass fittings to ensure leak-free performance. And all of their radiators are pressure tested twice before leaving the factory so you can install your new radiator with confidence.

Application. This Mishimoto Mustang Radiator is designed for 1979 to 1993 Mustangs with manual transmissions.

Mishimoto's "No Questions Asked" Limited Lifetime Warranty

Technical Note: If you have an automatic transmission, you would need to purchase the required Mishimoto Transmission Cooler from the drop-down ordering options above. May require custom work for proper installation.

I have a Vortech supercharged 1986 GT 5.0 Manual with the SQ model huffer. I am currently using a stock radiator with the stock shroud and fan, and water pump. It is not a daily driver, so when it is over hot outside, despite having a 180 theromostat, I avoid driving it, because it heats up to about 210-220 in traffic and with my Trick Flow heads I get nervous. My water pump just went, and since I need to rip everything apart, I was contemplating buying this radiator. My question is, will this radiator fit my combo with the supercharger WITHOUT converting to electric fans at this time? the clearance is already very minimal down at the crankshaft, and my fear is that this thicker rad will hit the shroud and/or the blower the belt. Has anyone out there, or you, American Muscle, tried this, and will this work??? Thank you!

    • We have not tested the Vortech kits with the Mishimoto Performance Aluminum Radiator, however, this radiator core is 50MM thick. If measure the difference in radiator thickness and use that distance to measure from your current core toward the motor, it would be the best way to check the clearances for any set-up.

92 automatic to manual swap I have a 92 gt that was switched from a automatic to a manual before I bought it, 3 years ago. I was wondering if I need to buy a Mishimoto radiator for a manual or automatic, since thats what it originally was? Thanks

    • Get the manual version, the Automatic radiator has the Automatic Trans Fluid cooler ( and fittings) that you do not need.

      Radiator review

Although the radiator arrived well packaged, the lower radiator hose Inlet was dented. I had to straighten it out as best I could so that the inlet pipe was evenly round. It ended up okay, no leaks. I also replaced the radiator cap that came with the radiator because it was impossible to remove without using channel locks. I bought a new Stant radiator cap, it fits much better and it's of higher-quality. I also read reviews about the petcock leaking potential, so I used thread sealant on the petcock bolt threads and torqued it to about 12 foot pounds. The radiator itself is well constructed and drop right in to the original stock mounting brackets, both upper and lower. My car now runs at just under normal on my temperature gauge even with the AC on while driving at highway speeds for when stuck in traffic. My original radiator be on the verge of overheating after a half hour on hot days with the AC on. I should have replaced that radiator with this one a long time ago. All in all I'm glad I bought this radiator, it's a good price for a quality product, minus the few issues I stated above.

      Quality aluminum radiator

Good quality radiator , good welds , metal doesn’t have any sharp edges or burrs, . I haven’t installed it yet because the engine isn’t ready to go in yet but from a craftsmanship point of view you get what you pay for . Sr aluminum radiators and sve radiators serve a purpose but their really isn’t any comparison to Chinese vs Japanese/American manufacturing . I’m glad I bought it over a generic aluminum radiator .

      Fit like a glove

Fit was perfect. Slid right in used stock brackets. Combined it with Mishimoto hoses. Worked out great. Didn't have to trim any radiator hoses. Heater core hoses were a pain to get at though. Other then that no issues with either product. Will follow up with some use.

      Mishimoto Radiator

the item came damaged it took me about an hour to bend the coolant neck back into place. I didn't have time to complain about it since I needed the car by the next day it's my daily driver. The actual radiator looked great and functioned perfectly once the damage was addressed. And it's still kicking till this day

      Need better cap design.

Great radiator. Temperature guage cooler than before. Guage stays under the "N". The Mishimoto cap locking tabs are so strong I had to remove the radiator and use large channelok plyers to remove cap. Tried cap several times and decided to use the Ford Performance 16 lb FR500S Radiator Cap (79-95 V8). Much easier to get on and off.

      Great radiator

runs pretty cool, pretty easy install. If u get the upper radiator brackets you will need to bend them a little bc they aren't a tight fit like the stock ones. You could take off the stock brackets and repaint them or just bend the ones they sell here (that's what I did) to fit tightly.

      Looks and fits great

This radiator fit great and looks great. I bought a off brand radiator from another site two years ago and it developed a bad leak along the seams. This radiator has a noticeably higher quality finish. My car is lightly modified but the stock radiator was not getting its job done. This radiator keeps the engine cool even on hot days. I should have bought this brand in the first place instead of wasting money on cheaper stuff.

      Good Radiator

I purchased this radiator to replace a Mishimoto that was installed in the car by a previous owner. This part number refers to a 3 row radiator but that is not what I received, I received a 2 row but I'm ok with that as the 2 rows are very large and over all size of the radiator is the same as the 3 row. Very happy
