    Review & Installation Video

Hey everyone I’m Justin with and I’m checking out a way to keep your ride cool, all while making a dramatic visual improvement under the hood as well, talking about these Mishimoto performance radiators for your Mustang. Mishimoto has become one of the industry leaders in terms of performance radiators, this direct factory replacement is a great solution for an old or leaking radiator. Now some of our customers have mentioned that this rad has been their cure for their motor running a little hot when adding different performance mods, especially superchargers which can notorious for making any motor run hot. This radiator has been designed to keep your street or strip Mustang much cooler thanks to their unique design, which allows a 25% increase of cooling capacity over your stock radiator. These radiators are manufactured from lightweight aluminum, feature leak proof brass fittings, and are all hand welded to ensure top notch quality, and a perfect fitment. On top of all that they also feature a limited lifetime warranty, no questions asked. The install may be slightly more difficult than bolting up that new cold air intake, but honestly it’s not that bad, think of it as a giant oil change. The first step is you need to drain all the coolant out of the factory radiator, but you want to make sure you have something large enough to hold all that fluid, we recommend at least a 15 quart drain pan. Once you’ve done that, yank the hoses off, then unbolt your factory radiator, removing it from your engine bay. Once you’ve done that, reinstall the Mishimoto in its place, reattach the hoses, and fill it with a 50-50 mix of coolant and water. That’s it, install should take you about 2 hours from start to finish. This would also be a good time to check out Mishimoto’s performance radiator hose kit, not only will they hold up to the heat and pressure better than your stock hoses, but they’ll also make a nice visual improvement under the hood. Every gearhead knows that heat is one of the worst enemies for performance, it can drain power, hurt your fuel mileage, or even damage your motor. So if you want to help your Mustang keep its cool whether it’s on the street or the track, then you’ll definitely want to check out these performance radiators from Mishimoto

Keep Cool. Keep your Foxbody producing as much horsepower as possible by keeping it cool with a Mishimoto radiator. When you're running your Mustang hard at the strip or the track, your stock radiator just can't keep up. A Mishimoto radiator has up to 25% more cooling capacity than your OEM radiator that will help you keep temps down and power up.

Lightweight Aluminum. Mishimoto Radiators are crafted of lightweight high-quality aluminum. Each radiator is hand-welded to which ensure a perfect fit and great underhood appearance.

Leak-Proof Design. Other aftermarket radiators have a design problem that causes leakage from the outlet to the overflow reservoir. Unlike other manufacturers, Mishimoto uses specially designed brass fittings to ensure leak-free performance. And all of their radiators are pressure tested twice before leaving the factory so you can install your new radiator with confidence.

Application. This Mishimoto Mustang Radiator is designed for 1979 to 1993 Mustangs with manual transmissions.

Mishimoto's "No Questions Asked" Limited Lifetime Warranty

Technical Note: If you have an automatic transmission, you would need to purchase the required Mishimoto Transmission Cooler from the drop-down ordering options above. May require custom work for proper installation.

An Aluminum Radiator is a good replacement for the stock radiator. My suggestion is to buy a 165 degree thermostat, high flow water pump, and new fan to help optimize the usage of this radiator

    perfect replacement

only modification needed to install it on my 84 was the top drivers side radiator bracket...nothing major, just need a bigger rubber piece...other than that, perfect

I have a Vortech supercharged 1986 GT 5.0 Manual with the SQ model huffer. I am currently using a stock radiator with the stock shroud and fan, and water pump. It is not a daily driver, so when it is over hot outside, despite having a 180 theromostat, I avoid driving it, because it heats up to about 210-220 in traffic and with my Trick Flow heads I get nervous. My water pump just went, and since I need to rip everything apart, I was contemplating buying this radiator. My question is, will this radiator fit my combo with the supercharger WITHOUT converting to electric fans at this time? the clearance is already very minimal down at the crankshaft, and my fear is that this thicker rad will hit the shroud and/or the blower the belt. Has anyone out there, or you, American Muscle, tried this, and will this work??? Thank you!

    • We have not tested the Vortech kits with the Mishimoto Performance Aluminum Radiator, however, this radiator core is 50MM thick. If measure the difference in radiator thickness and use that distance to measure from your current core toward the motor, it would be the best way to check the clearances for any set-up.

92 automatic to manual swap I have a 92 gt that was switched from a automatic to a manual before I bought it, 3 years ago. I was wondering if I need to buy a Mishimoto radiator for a manual or automatic, since thats what it originally was? Thanks

    • Get the manual version, the Automatic radiator has the Automatic Trans Fluid cooler ( and fittings) that you do not need.

    • Bro, your Fox will probably benefit from the Mishimoto radiator. Should be the same mounting as my 92.

      Surprised me

I directly compared this to a Fluidyne radiator of the same dimensions at my shop and surprisingly they are the same thing. Only difference I could find was the Mishimoto stencil. Why pay over a $100 more for the same thing and a name(Fluidyne)? Get the Mishimoto and save some money.

      Great rad so far

For years on my 91 5.0 (stock engine) I hated how hot the engine would get when I pushed the car (needle hitting the "O" in "NORMAL" on some occasions). I finally got around to installing this 3-core Rad that was easy to instal (1.5hrs) and no problem with the distance from the fan since it was a wider Rad. The Rad looks great and is of quality. On the Rad alone, the needle does not go over the "M" anymore with a 180 thermo. Shortly after, I replaced my stock fan taking the needle down to the "A" sometimes. When I pop the hood and touch the engine, the difference in temp. is huge. I just purchased a water pump from A.M., not waiting until it's defect to replace it with the car approaching 20 yrs! All this for a great price from A.M. Was all worth it.

      Did not cool car better.

It appears that my stock radiator was doing a great job. I assumed that the Mishimoto would do better, it did not. Both are three core, not sure if my old one was upgraded or that is what came stock??? The fit is POOR, if I use the stock radiator brackets the radiator is lose and floats around and will allow my elec. fan to hit my crank pulley. I know most love this radiator but I am disappointed. Might ask for money back.

      Go Mishimoto!

I researched lots of radiators looking for the best deal under $300 and kept coming back to Mishimoto. Excellent factory fit and great looking. I installed the radiator with a 160 degree thermostat and have an after market double electric fan. I tested the radiator by waiting in the drive-thru line for over 20 minutes, 90 degrees outside without turning on the electric fans and wow, gauge needle never came above the initial 160 it opens up at, old radiator floated between medium and hot with same conditions. Also, can't beat the LIFETIME Warranty, great Product!!

      Cool Running

This is an awesome part. It dropped right into the car using the factory mounts. I made a little bracket for the factory catch-can and installed twin electric fans with a 180 deg thermostat and the car is cooling perfectly. Thanks.
