Perfect Fit on my '99 Mustang GT

Perfect fit. If it was a little longer, or wider, you'll have problems installing it, but that is not the case. For a '99 Mustang GT, you will need a pair of Hayden 394 Transmission Line Adapters Fittings to avoid damaging the original lines, and a perfect threaded connection.

        Keeps Cool!

This heavy duty fan works perfect as expected! I put a stage 2 cam in my 02 Automatic (with the stock stall for now) and it has created more heat than the stock cam did. The car was keeping cool but the auto transmission was running hotter than normal, so I got this external cooler and it's just what it needed!! Well worth it with the fan!!

Excellent price, superior fit and top quality!

For the price and the piece of mind that comes w/this Mishimoto H/D Cooler for my AT, let me tell you what! It's well worth it to have my tranny oil running cooler, thus I feel more consistently confident ripping the canyons of Colorado when the weather is pushing well above 85 degrees @ 8,000 feet of top notch elevation! Thanks American Muscle.

        Amazing product

After I blew out my old transmission and had to replace the transmission torque converter and trans cooler via metal chunks in the pan this was definitely the best option performance-wise and price wise it has been amazing ever since have been tracking the trans temp with my tuner and it has stayed cool and ran better than ever

4 2000 GT - David Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Works well

I have no idea what the normal operating temperature of the 4R70W is but after installing a 2400 converter temps would rise above 230° sitting in traffic, used a barb fitting kit from auto zone and 8 feet of 11/32" line (was a little tight, should have bought 3/8" but couldn't find any). Ran the lines out of the cooler in the radiator into this one and back into the hard line (stock fitting on the radiator side of the hard line didn't work too well with the barb kit I got, ended up cutting it off, putting on the fitting that goes into the transmission and reflaring the line.) Now temps stay around 180°.

        Trans cooler

This trans cooler wasn't big enough to just run the 6r80 alone it has to be ran in line with the factory trans cooler but when it was all hooked up and the fan kicked on at red lights the temps went down or held the same

Stock Radiator? Do you have to have the Mishimoto radiator for this to fit or can it be hooked up with just the stock 2004 v6 radiator? Thanks!!

      • No, it works with any radiator, including stock.

Does the fan push or pull the air through the cooler.

      • The Mishimoto Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission Cooler w/ Electric Fan is going to pull air from the front of the vehicle and push the air through the other side.

Just wondering, do you need to add additional trans fluid when installing this.. and how is that done when the 2010 transmissions are sealed. Or do you need to prefill this cooler to compensate for the additional tubing/hoses.

do you guys make something like this with a t stat for oil?

Can this be used as a direct replacement for a transmission cooler?
