Reduce Sludge. Reduce engine sludge in your 4.6 by diverting nasty "blow-by" (a combination of exhaust gases and oil) into a Moroso Air/Oil Separator a.k.a. "catch can" where the contaminated oil is separated out from the exhaust gases before being recycled back into the intake to be re-burned, thus preventing the used oil from re-enter the system to gum up your engine.

can this be put on the passenger side?

    • The Moroso Air/Oil Separator can be mounted virtually anywhere that will provide sufficient room for the mounting bracket. If you place it on the drivers side, you may need some additional hose depending on how it is routed.

Is it practical to run a hose from the PCV off the valve cover to the inlet of the air/oil separator, and then just put a breather filter on the outlet?

    • Doing that with this Moroso Air/Oil Separator would be considered a vent to atmosphere unit which will result in a heavy oil smell, it may result in oil dripping through the filter. Most states do not allow the PCV to be vented to the atmosphere, so you may fail your emissions test.

Good day What are the inlet and outlet ports to be connected to the PCV and the intake manifold? Thanks

    • With the Moroso Air/Oil Separator the inlet and outlet hoses are connected to the intake manifold PCV and the other port is connected to the breather on the intake.

Is it necassary for two of these for the driver and passenger side pcv valves or just one?

    • It is not necessary to have two Oil Separator's on your Mustang. One Oil Separator will do a great job at filtering out the oil in the vapors that can travel into the intake.

      good stuff

been using this for about a year now and every oil change ive noticed the oil coming out cleaner, definitely does what its supposed too, ive had no problems. kinda wish it came with fittings though and I didn't have to Frankenstein the oem fittings with the hose they supply but over all great product

      Love it

We are adding a supercharger to our 06 mustang gt next winter. So we are starting to prepare the car for it. The morose air oil seperator not only looks good under the hood but the construction is very high quality. It's a little bigger then I originally thought but it is very light. Just wish moroso made a seperator for the passenger side of the vehicle so they match.

      Oil Separator

I ordered a Moroso air/oil separator and as usual it arrived in a timely manor, also without shipping cost. Installing it took less than half hour. Being chromed, it looks great. I drain it about every two or three fuel ups and get better than a tablespoon of oil not deposited in the combustion chamber. That's a good thing!

      nice fit and looks

OIL SEPARATOR LOOKS AND WORKS GREAT. INSTRUCTIONS SAYS THE MOUNTING BRACKET IS STAINLESS STEEL, NEGATIVE! MADE OUT OF STEEL AND YOU WILL NEED TO PAINT IT TO KEEP IT FROM RUSTING.

      Catch can looks great....

The bracket that comes with it was a huge disappointment. You order this nice polished chrome catch can and the bracket is this horrible looking steel grey color. I painted mine to match my engine bay. I guess I expected a little more from Moroso. The product overall is high quality and works well. Install was easy.

Awesome Catch Can at a Great Price

The Moroso Air/Oil Separator is an excellent catch can and looks great. I certainly recommend it. The catch can works as expected and as advertised. Install is super easy. Using some teflon tape on the fittings, I mounted mine to the CAI shroud. For me, the look is a bit cleaner. Install time, start-2-finish was about an hour. I really like the fact that you don't need to remove the bottom to drain it. Put a container under drain tube then open the valve. Super easy. Again, great product, and I recommend the Moroso Air/Oil Separator. D.

      Perfect Part...Perfect Fit

I ordered the Moroso Air/Oil Separator to replace a separator from another company that continued to leak no matter what I did to stop it...and the smell of oil from the engine bay was driving me crazy. It was the best move to purchase and install the Moroso separator because not only is it solid and leak-free...it looks totally awesome in the bay! I like it so much that I just ordered a Moroso Air/Oil Separator for our 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0T! Thanks AM for the AWESOME products and service!!!

Best oil separator for boosted applications

I had a JLT which worked when i was NA. Did not do the job after adding a twin screw sc. My innercooler was oil soaked and it took alot of time to pull and clean. The Moroso does a far better job and captures everything. It is significantly larger and has about 30 x more filtration material. It looks great and is a high quality part. Highly recommend this over any other oil sep

Oil Separator is a must after supercharging

I recently put a Whipple supercharger on my 2009 Mustang GT. I had removed the FRRP High Rise Intake Manifold to accommodate the supercharger. That's when I noticed oil dripping from the intake manifold. After reading up on the subject, I learned that oil can be drawn from the PCV system into the intake. Especially true if the car is highly modified or using forced induction like a supercharger or turbo. This can cause problems including loss of power. I decided on this Moroso Separator because it looked good and it had a convenient drain valve. It was very easy to install but unfortunately because of the supercharger the hose fittings had to be modified with different fittings. It looks great and hopefully the oil problem will be a thing of the past. So far so good.

      nice piece!

This is a very nicely made piece. I could not mount it as indicated by the instructions because my car has a monte carlo bar tying the shock towers together. I cut off the tower mount flange, drilled two holes in the bracket and monte carlo bar and mounted it on the bar. Ever thing else worked as advertised.

      disappointed

I'm disappointed because you have to cannibalize the existing PCV tube just to get the fittings. For the money paid, these fittings should have been included. And the mounting bracket is not stainless steel as advertised, it's just a piece of stamped steel that I'll have to paint to keep from rusting. The chromed canister will look good under the hood, which is the only reason I'm not returning this. I'd like to know the capacity of the unit without having to pour some water into it. "Check it after 1000 miles" is pretty vague.

      Moroso catch can

Nice piece, easy install. It should be common sense but the instructions don't say anything about using sealant on the threaded fittings. Installed mine in a different location than the bracket was set up for because my s/c intakr pipe was in the way.

      Great Concept

It's a good idea if you're one of those people like me who likes to give it a little every now and then... I bought it when i replaced my intake manifold with the FRPP manifold and saw oil dripping out of the inside when I set the old manifold on the ground. I bought this one over the JLT separator because with the 1.5" that you're supposed to cut off the stock vacuum hose I figured there wasn't enough room based off the the JLT photo. I emptied it at 2k miles and it was almost full. My car isn't turbocharged or supercharged either, so if you put it out of your mind because of the people saying it's for engines with forced induction I say go for it anyway, it's not very expensive and keeps quite a bit of oil out of the wrong places in your engine. Only downside is the spout is in an awkward location to drain...

      Good Product

As always American Muscle was fast with shipping. Ordered the part on Saturday night and it was on my doorstep on Tuesday. This is why I love ordering from American Muscle! The Separator itself was well packaged. The instructions say to use thread sealant on the threads, just wish that they would have included a tube in the box, but 5 bucks later I was good to go. went together easy, just be careful with your tools as the aluminum and brass get tool marks very easy. only marred the petcock an the drain tube, so its not like anyone will see it anyway. The lack of sealer is nothing to do with AM, maybe ask Moroso to toss a tube into the box. The bracket to mount it to the shock tower comes unpainted in bare metal. the instructions say that it is stainless steel, but regardless I painted it anyway. Regardless it is an extremely well made product. I recommend it to anyone looking for an Oil Separator. The instructions are detailed on how to get the factory fittings you need and installing it in the car. Assembling the brass fittings is a no-brainer. Ran out of daylight but the install will be tomorrow afternoon. I will check to see how well it works after 1000 miles, but I have a good feeling that it will do an awesome job keeping my intake clean.

Works on the V6 Model as well.

This is a nice addition if you have a supercharger, it performs as advertised, however you need either a second one or to splice some lines to route to a single. Seems to do a good job at catching all of the oil, and I have purchased my second on here. With free shipping this one currently (as I write this) is about 20 bucks cheaper here than on other performance parts websites. One side note though, be sure to completely tighten the spout on the bottom and use a thread locker, then follow suite with the top inlet and outlet spouts. This is a nice set up for not a lot of money, and like I said...if you go forced induction this is a very recommended and nice addition.
