Justin: Hey, everybody. Justin with americanmuscle.com. And today, we're taking a closer look at and we're installing the OE Style Chrome Housing Headlights with the Clear Corners, available for your '99 to '04 Mustang at home. Now, you guys should be checking out these headlights for your New Edge if you're after a very affordable factory-styled option and you're looking to freshen things up on the front end but without breaking the bank.So again, I feel like the OE style headlights that we have here today will be for those New Edge owners out there who prefer the simple and clean look of a factory-styled chrome housing light and don't necessarily need or want any of the wild styling that can sometimes be the result of things like a dark smoke lens, fancy LED accent lighting, halos, or possibly all of the above. Instead, these are just simply going to adhere to that factory recipe, which will do a great job of giving that front end a much-needed refresh by replacing a set of damaged or faded factory lights while also eliminating the unsightly orange reflector at the same time, which I feel does contribute to a cleaner look overall.Construction-wise, you are gonna find the chromed ABS plastic base or housing that is then topped off with a crystal clear impact-resistant polycarbonate lens. And, of course, everything is sealed up nice and watertight to prevent any moisture or condensation from getting behind the lens itself. Now, these lights do not include any new bulbs, guys, so you have a couple of options here. You can either transfer over your factory bulbs or existing bulbs or possibly use this as an opportunity to upgrade if needed. Now, finally, guys, because you're looking at pretty simple styling here, nothing dark or crazy when we're talking smoke lenses, you're gonna easily achieve that DOT and SAE stamp of approval, which does make these legal for use in all 50 states. Also like to point out here, guys, that they are going to mount in the same fashion using that two-tab system, and they are fully adjustable. So once you get these on the ride, you can definitely adjust them properly, make sure you're not blinding any oncoming traffic, and that is a nice feature to point out with aftermarket headlights.Moving into pricing, and I think you'll find these to be pretty much on par with the rest of your OE-styled options on the site, and that's gonna be hovering right around that very low $100 price point. Now, once you start adding in things like those projectors or LEDs or all of the above, you're definitely gonna see that price go up quite a bit, but because these are, again, pretty basic, they do not include any LEDs or extra bulbs, expect them to fall into that budget-friendly bucket.Moving into the install, and guys, if you've never swapped headlights before on your New Edge, probably one of the easiest jobs you'll ever tackle. Two tabs are securing your factory headlights. You're simply gonna pull those out, pull out the entire assembly, do your bulb swap, reinsert the new chrome options in reverse order, and that's pretty much it. Now, because these things are just so easy, site's gonna stick with the pretty soft one out of three wrenches on the old difficulty meter here. Call this one about 10 minutes from start to finish, which probably is doable if you're hustling, but if it takes you a little bit more, don't sweat it. But regardless to see just how easy this one is, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown now.Man: There are no tools required for this job. What's up, guys? Today we're gonna be doing some headlights on our Mustang, but before we get started, we're gonna send you to watch a short video on how to uninstall your factory setup, and we'll see you when you get back. All right. First step here, what we're gonna do is look at these two pins after we pop our hood. So, with these pins, they're basically retaining the headlight into position. So, you're basically just gonna pull up from under them and pull those pins straight out. They're a little bit long, so you just gotta pull all the way up. Do that for both, and now your headlight's loose. All right. So, what we're basically gonna do is just wiggle this guy out. There's one harness and you see it just popped off, but if yours does not pop right off, it's basically just a pinch and disconnect and then you have one more on the corner here. And for this, you have basic locking tabs on the sides. You just pull up on the tabs and pull it straight off.All righty, guys, welcome back. Now that we've shown you how to remove your factory setup, we're going to go ahead and swap everything over to our new assembly to get it ready to go onto the car. So, we're going to grab our factory light, we're going to remove this retainer ring for our headlight bulb, and to do that we're just going to give it a little turn counter-clockwise, pop it out of place, and we can pull our headlight bulb out. Now remember not to touch the glass on your bulb with your bare hands, cause hot spots, premature failure. And after that we'll grab our turn signal/marker light bulb, again counter-clockwise, let that pop out of its seat, go ahead and remove that. We can set our retainer and factory light aside. Now we come to our new assembly here that comes with a new retainer. So again, we'll go ahead and take that off. Grab our headlight. Slip that right back in as if it was going into the factory light. Make sure it seats properly. It may take a little bit of wiggling. Once you get that seated in, grab our retainer ring. Get that lined up. Give that a quarter turn clockwise now to lock it back in. Grab our turn signal marker light bulb. Go ahead and get that into its slot. Find its seating tabs. Also give that a quarter turn clockwise. Now we're ready to go onto the car. Once you have this done for this side, you can go ahead and repeat this same process for your other headlight. So now we'll go ahead and take our headlight, get it ready to go in place, grab our marker bulb, turn signal light connector, and that goes right back into the light that we just transferred. Go ahead and get this one plugged in, make sure that's nice and secure. Then we can plug our headlight bulb in. It's going to go right back into the bulb as it came out. Now you notice our tab is broken. Yours should have a safety tab, a retainer tab that locks into that. Then once we have that done, we'll go ahead and get our side locators lined up here and push our headlight back into place. We can go ahead and grab our tabs and get those set back in. We can go ahead and reinstall our retainers here. They'll just slide right back down into their slots as they came out from the factory ones. Pop those in, so that's secure. And now once you've got this done for this side, you can go ahead and repeat these same steps for your other headlight. All righty, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our OE Style Headlights with Chrome Housings and Clear Lenses for your '99 to '04 Mustang. Thanks for watching and as always, for everything Mustang, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
