Justin: The smoked LED Light Bar Taillights that we have here today would be a great choice for any '05 to '09 Mustang owner who might be looking to get away from those ordinary stock red taillights and into something that's gonna give off a very sleek and very modern appearance. Now, these DOT-approved taillights will pack a full LED operation, with the exception of your reverse bulb, and can be had for right around 500 bucks. Install's gonna be a direct swap plug-and-play job here, gang. So, figure a pretty soft one out of three wrenches on the old difficulty meter, and I would say an hour at most to complete from start to finish as we'll show you later in the video. So, these lights are gonna combine a few different styling cues to form one very unique-looking package.You know, on one hand, you have the obvious nods of the 2015 and newer-style tri-bar taillights, which is really gonna modernize the stock S197 lights in rear-end. But on top of that, these also combine what is typically referred to as that Euro-styling, which is in direct reference to the white in the tri-bar there. And those are gonna be finished off with an aggressive smoked lens. So, there's really a lot going on in regards to your overall appearance. Now, despite that smoked clear lens or white lens, you are still getting the standard red lighting through the benefit of those modern and very bright LEDs. And that's why these lights have been given both the DOT and SAE stamp of approval which does make them legal for use in all 50 states.Now, those red LEDs are going to operate in the same manner as your stock taillight. So, expect standard operation in that regard along with, again, we mentioned earlier, transferring over your standard reverse bulbs which are found in those bottom blocks. This might be a great opportunity to upgrade to an LED reverse bulb just to keep the look a little bit more consistent and to upgrade the brightness. Now, speaking of those LEDs, they are located behind the white tri-bar portion here, very bright. And again, they do illuminate red. Those are located behind your smoked polycarbonate lens and everything is gonna be nestled into that smoked ABS plastic housing here, or black housing, I should say, that is designed to be a direct swap with your factory S197 taillight. So, what does that mean? Well, no cutting, no permanent modification, no wiring needed, a very easy swap. I do also wanna mention the fact that if you really dig the modern S550 vibe that these guys give off but maybe you're not a huge fan of the clear or Euro lenses, well, you can always grab these with a more traditional ruby or red option or lens, I should say, here at americanmuscle.com, of course, for basically the same price as the white options.Now, on top of that, I always like to recommend, check out the detailed customer reviews and customer submitted images because it'll give you a good idea of what these options might look like on your ride at home, of course. And also, while you're there, check out the red options as well. You might like those a little bit better. Either way, they're certainly a very unique light. But now, I wanna segue into that installation process. And again, this one is gonna be extremely straightforward, guys. As I mentioned earlier, no crazy wiring, no modification, a very simple plug-and-play job. So, without further ado, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown right now.Man: Tools for this install, a clip removal tool, a ratchet or electric ratchet, and an 11-millimeter socket.All right. Now, with your trunk open, you usually have a couple of clips here on both sides that need to be removed. However, ours do not have it. So, we're just gonna get the clips that we do have removed. With your clip removal tool, remove the clips holding on the panel. But then removed, your panel should slide right off. Now, unplug your taillight harness. And with your 11-millimeter socket, remove the three bolts located on the back of the taillight. And now, you can remove your taillight.Now, before we can get our new taillight in, we do need to transfer over our backup light. So, we're gonna do that now. Simply counterclockwise, twist the light bulb, and pull that out of the socket. Simply twist the plug counterclockwise and pull the bulb out of the socket. Now, on your new taillight, repeat those actions in reverse. Now, place new taillight into your Mustang. And secure it with your stock hardware. Again, this is using an 11-millimeter socket. Don't forget to plug in your harness. And repeat those steps on the other side.
